« Under the guise of luxury, constant let downs »

A "side salad" at the lobby restaurant consisted of three pieces of pale iceberg lettuce and one cherry tomato. The room had an amazing coffee machine, and every day I was only given decaffeinated coffee... it once took four trips to the desk to get regular coffee. The spa is clean and lovely, but every person asked me to mention their name on trip advisor -- I wonder what the incentive structure is there by management; it cheapened the experience. I tried every single restaurant, and the best meal I had was a Caesar salad. The worst meal I had included tuna fish that looked like wet cat food, but during 95% of the meals I was just disappointed. The one time I was provided a salt shaker and a pepper shaker, the pepper shaker has salt in it too. At least one elevator was always broken, and the indicator lights on my floor sometimes didn't work or were shorted. Room service has the same bland food but for an added 20% +/- of the cost. My room was beautiful, but the shower set up is dangerous, and the showerhead sprays water everywhere in the bathroom without a proper door or curtain. Housekeeping entered my room without knocking A HALF DOZEN TIMES, once while I was in the bath and could not hide myself. Housekeeping staff was very sweet, but why would they not 1) use the doorbell that is literally installed to alert the guest that someone is outside, 2) knock before entering and wait to hear if someone is there? Every time they would barge into the room, my anxiety would shoot up because who is this stranger entering my room!? The door to the balcony did not lock, but when I asked if it could be fixed, I was told the person they would ask was not around at the moment... I noticed that no one wanted to take responsibility for things that would happen later. Out of sight out of mind, not my problem -- that seemed to be the mantra. For a "five star" hotel, you'd think a lot of these kinks would be worked out within the first couple months of being opened and there would be some shame about how terrible the food it. There's no shame in being a four star hotel that exceeds expectations, but a "five star" hotel that falls this short is just sad. The Jardin de Roses is a pretty hotel; the infrastructure for greatness is there. I'm sure it's a trendy locale for people to spend a couple hours. I do not recommend anyone stay here for more than 2 nights.

I forgot my big makeup bag in the room which contains expensive makeup. I called the hotel after checkout and they claim that they didn’t find it. I assume the cleaning personal must have taken it. Extremely disappointed

« Amazing stay in wheelchair accessible room »

This was one of the best hotel stays we have ever had. We stayed in a wheelchair accessible room. The room and bathroom were very spacious and great for large wheelchairs. The balcony also had flat access to allow the wheelchair outside to enjoy the view of the pool and gardens. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were fantastic, the pillows were like sleeping on clouds! We had dinner in the Golden fish restaurant and it was beautiful. The meal was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious, one of the best cuts of beef I have tried. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection and was delicious. The gardens and pool area were beautiful, it was lovely to walk around the gardens. The staff overall were brilliant, the ladies in reception went above and beyond with their service and the staff at the pool were extremely helpful. We highly recommend staying here, it was a great experience.

« Excellent Service but hotel needs upgrade; serious problem with billing which is not yet resolved »

The service at the hotel is excellent. I was at the hotel from June 11-Jul 2. Initially I was in a room on the 2nd floor, but later was moved to room 323. The service on the 3rd floor was excellent and I would especially like to acknowledge Acha from housekeeping who took very good care of me. The hotel however is showing its age and needs upgrading of rooms, hallways and other common areas. My major compliant about the Sofitel is with billing. Upon check in my credit card was charged $2,154.41 in advance. Upon check out I was charged $3,392.06 for the entire period of June 11-July 2. The initial payment of $2,154.41 was NOT deducted. So I have been overcharged for my stay at the Sofitel by $2,154.43. This matter has been brought to the attention of the Sofitel by the U.S. embassy which made my booking. The Sofitel acknowledged that this was a mistake and indicated that I would be refunded the amount of $2,154.41. I have not yet received the refund.

Look no further for quality and a warm professional welcome. This hotel is wonderful. I’m not sure about other standards in Rabat but if I go again I will be staying here! Great service particularly from Ahmed at the concierge and Adil. Very professional and nothing was too much trouble.!

I enjoyed the hotel location and its facilities, except that the business working environment in the room wasn't practical at all. One nice big table without chair. Need to use the pillows as your under support to reach the laptop. I mostly appreciated the service quality, kindness of all staff and their hospitality, espcially the cherful and helful Fatima Zahra. She was there whenever you need assisstance.

I had an excellent stay thanks to the following people. Amine at the reception; he is a truly amazing person, and he has always made my stays very satisfying. The guest relation team - Meryam, Hassna, and Fatima Zhora; they are excellent. The VIP club, Hicham, Mouna, Nadia, and Khadija; they made me feel home away from home. Naoual for cleaning my suite very well, and Aziz, in the Spa, for taking care of my needs at the gym. Finally, Adel for checking in on me from time to time.
