We felt that stay was nice. the Location was fantastic but there where some challengers along the the way. We arrived at 12pm for check and advise room was not ready and they would give us a call when the room was ready. this was fine and we headed out to get some lunch, and look around. At 5pm, after no call, we walked back to reception to see if the room was ready. (staff didn't seem concerned we had been waiting 5 hours for the room) Once we entered the room, we found the toilet and bath had not been clean properly. My wife then approached reception, the receptionist apologized and offered to come clean it. After some discussion as we did not feel with was acceptable we where moved into another room. The room was nice, and roomy. we did enjoy our stay in it. For note, bath is perfect, but take 45 mins to fill up. We had dinner in the restaurant on night one, was night, but not amazing. I feel the beer in the bar could be colder. It is a nice hotel, and very good value for money, however we just felt with a couple small improvements, it of been a great experience. We would stay there again, and hope this feedback, helps management to improve there offering.

Comfortable rooms, courteous staff great food and very nice location. I must say though I booked for one night and due to further commitments had to come back for another night. I was very surprised when the 2nd night was more expensive than the first.

The resort itself was in a stunning setting and the staff were very warm and welcoming :) Thank you to Amanda who checked us in. In regards to the rooms and building it could use a little refreshing and touch ups but otherwise very happy. The only thing I wasn't overly happy about was the buffet breakfast, wasn't much of a selection for hot food, and didn't taste overly hot and fresh. Otherwise very happy thank you! I received a beautiful welcome bottle of wine too THANK YOU!

it was great, everyone was amazing staff answered all my questions no matter how silly or simple they were they were very understanding and patient. however i missed the sign where it said to clean the room for house keeping that is probably aly why i gave an 8 not a 10 because my room didnt get cleaned because i missed the sign.

We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean and tidy and provided a good level of comfort. During the afternoon we went out for a couple of hours, on returning found our room door not only unlocked but wide open. I had purposely double checked that it was securely locked when we left. Went to report the issue to reception and was told that they had had a reason to go to the room in our absence and that the door may have been accidentally left open by the staff concerned. Very distressing to hear. Fortunately nothing seemed to be missing, but a somewhat unpleasant experience. We also reported that the bathroom shower door did not close properly and the water in the hand basin did not drain. The reception staff member said they would look into the matters and asked if they could accompany us back to the room to look. I said we were booked in to the hotel restaurant for dinner right then, they asked if they could go and look without us, we agreed. We did not get any advice/update on the room visit even though we were in the hotel restaurant and this was known to the reception staff. After leaving the restaurant we walked past the reception and the staff member who took our earlier concerns wished us good night but did not comment on the room issues. After returning to the room we found that the two issues, shower door and non draining hand basin problems had been fixed. I felt that this should have been communicated to us during the evening and would have had a positive effect for us. Whilst it was great that the items had been fixed, it would have been much better if we had been advised as well. I have no complaint about the professionalism and good manners of the staff member concerned but rather question the level of training provided to the staff. Young people these days generally do not provide adequate feedback so it could just be their way, but the training there should include this aspect. Guests need to be provided feedback so they feel acknowledged and valued. You ask for feedback, we deserve it too. My years in corporate world and hospitality areas taught that communication was the key to keeping everyone on the same level and understanding of the issues at hand. It would have had a positive impact if we had been advised that the two items had been fixed, but rather the opposite when nothing was said. As to the open room door, this has left an unpleasant memory.

We had a pleasant stay however the room had a very strong smell of bleach on arrival and we found the bed quite uncomfortable. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast, however when we ordered a matched wine to go with our meal it hadn't arrived by the time we had finished the course. We then cancelled the order.

Booked a two night mid week getaway, which was very relaxing. Staff were very friendly, during check in and check out and during breakfast service. Rooms, while a little dated,were well appointed and very comfortable. Brekky buffet was great, with a large selection to cater to all tastes. Breakfast area was well laid out with a pleasant outlook. Overall, an easy relaxed stay, well located to wineries, restaurants and other local attractions. Woke one morning to see a hot air balloon taking flight which was a nice ctart to the day.

We have enjoyed our previous stays at Mercure Resort Hunter Valley Gardens, but this was our first experience of School Holidays and we hope not to repeat the experience! The Staff were, as usual, friendly and very helpful. We were disappointed in the sheer waste of food during breakfast - which was included. However, we were later told that the food was not wasted - there were a number of very well fed chickens and ducks in the area!
