We stayed for a weekend, and were very satisfied with the hotel and its location. Great shower, comfortable room, and the location is very handy for access to Schipol airport (about 4 min by train) and Amsterdam Centraal station (about 20 min by train). The train station is close to the hotel (after you figure out the correct direction) - about 4 minutes walk.

« I felt very welcome, your facilities are very good, your staff is great. »

Your front desk staff was very friendly and alway helpfull. I was by myself so most nights I are at the bar, a couple of your bar tenders and servers went out of there way for me and other guests. Your staff gave me the impression that they like their jobs. The breakfast in the morning was quite nice, the kind of breakfast I only get when in Europe. My room was always perfect. I will stay with you again.

I stayed for 14 nights attending a workshop. Overall I am very satisfied. Housekeeping sometimes forgets to refurnish room amenities well. I had a wonderful stay overall. Breakfast was a good spread.

I have stayed at this Novotel before by myself and loved it. I came back with my family and was somewhat less satisfied. The room was just not large enough for four people. Also, the room itself didn't seem as nice as when I stayed in a double room alone. Other than that, I was satisfied with the cleanliness of the hotel and the staff was, as always, very friendly and helpful.

We started our stay with you on July 2nd and checked out on July 4th of 2018. Our experience was a mix of good and not so good. Upon our arrival we were made to wait for our hotel room, as it was not ready. We arrived 30 minutes after the published check-in time. The wait was not too terribly long, about 35 minutes, but still, not great after a long journey. The included breakfast was fabulous and well stocked. Quick service and a great selection of food made the start of our day very enjoyable. Unfortunately our experience was overshadowed by an incident at the cafe in the lobby that evening. We enjoyed a cup of cappuccino and enjoyed some local candies that we bought on a trip to the city. We were asked, not in a kind manner, to not eat the candies, since they were not bought in the shop in the lobby. "You can eat your candy in your room, not here." was the comment delivered in a tone I usually use with my kids. This may be your policy, but it is not posted anywhere, so how could we have known? The rude manner in which we were informed made us not want to use the lobby at all. The service was not great to begin with, the staff was too busy to serve us at the table and we had to fetch our coffees ourselves from the counter. Again, not what I expect from Novotel. On the day before our last, we also enjoyed a false fire-alarm. Now I understand these things do happen. We were in our room at the time, and nothing in our room alerted us to the condition outside. We only learned of the alert status when we went out for the day and noticed the fire-doors were all closed and the elevators were out of use. It does make me wonder what would have happened if the alarm had been real and a fire was raging through the building, would we not have been notified? That is a scary thought. In short, we enjoyed the room, the breakfast and the quality of the stay. However, the friendliness of the staff was below par, and your safety protocols make me wonder if they are regularly tested. Myself I work as a manager for Disney parks and Resorts in California, and have a keen sense of when a team is not fine-tuned to their guests. I hope you see this as an opportunity for improvement. I am not sure if I would want to stay at your hotel again at this point in time. Regards, Jacco B.

Me myself, I am deeply ashamed of colleagues behavior. I do want to dive a little deeper into the safety aspect of your story because i feel that you miss some information. The reason you did not hear a full evacuation alarm was due to the reason our first aide employees were really quick to respond and that the issue was under control before a full alarm went off. I, for one, am really really happy with the response time. This is proof to me and to the management that we are well trained in case of a real emergency. « Well not all good as it could have been »

I had a blocked shower and the tray over flowed. I reported it to housekeeping and they said an engineer would come up to inspect it ..... when I got back to my room in the evening the shower had been unblocked. It had been blocked by someone else’s hair I know this because house keeping had left the bag of hair taken out of the pug on top of my suitcase ! Not nice thing to find !!

Everything was good, except I was told that if you are staying in an executive room you would not be charge for anything from the mini bar. To my surprise my bill includes mini-bar charges.

Room was hot, as air conditioning was not functioning properly. Front desk clerk came, and took our dirty filter which was not changes in a long time, then air started to flow, but not enough to keep the room cool.

Nice modern hotel with good amenities. Long wait at check-in and to buy snacks at front desk. Called three times to order room service but nobody answered, even front desk didn't answer in the evening.
