Unable to speak Mandarin my holiday got off to a rocky start but this quickly dissapeared as soon as I pulled up at the Pullman Lobby. Smiling friendly staff made me feel instantly welcome and safe. The amiable Nikki and Kate at reception took me under their wing and were adament to ensure my experience was going to be a great one. The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean so kudos to the housekeeping teams. From my room on the 12th floor i had amazing views of the ocean, beach and facilities below. The hotel is huge with not only great restaurants but also a karaoke booth, shops, Movie theatre, Rifle Range ( the electronic type). The staff are what impressed me most throughout my stay.

Our arrival greeting was fantastic, it really gave us a lift after a long journey. I have to commend and congratulate you on your staff. They were friendly and courteous and the state of the hotel and the grounds showed this as everything was visually pleasant and functional from room architecture, door locks, water pressure and the landscaping/maintanenence. I congratulate your team on this. The view of my room was amazing. The breakfast was sensational! Your spa bath jets were amazing. I loved that I never needed to get up and restart the jets. My special thanks to Kate, Lee, Lane and Coco who as the English speakers in your staff were very proactive in assisting myself and my travel companion. An area of improvement needed is the wifi. Very slow and weak reception in my room. Another issue you can address is Your bar staff, both on the top floor and ground level- they were not as helpful. The moments I choose to forget about this stay is my interaction with them. Getting ice was difficult. I had tried redeem my welcome voucher. They insisted on a certain menu of coffee and juice despite their the specific page on their tablet menu and my voucher showing a the inclusion of wine, cocktail or beer. My voucher was also written in Chinese so there is no excuse for their behaviour. As the Chinese govt has lifted travel restrictions for English speakers visiting Hainan, you will see a lot more English speakers in the future. I would suggest your bar staff are retrained in language and courtesy because as you will know; the English speaking world are very serious about alcohol and are much more demanding on service than i am. For your management- you may consider providing flat soled shoes for your dining room staff. It is unsafe for them to walk around in heeled shoes after I witnessed a near accident on a daily basis. This aside, I think your staff have created a wonderful environment both atmospherically and aesthetically. I am planning to return again.

the hotel facility was not as new as some of the others, and there is also a tram ride to the suites apartment which was unexpected, making it a little more time consuming (especially in hot weather) travel backwards and forth to restaurants/bar, however the overall service was very good, the staff was friendly and offered their service whenever possible, and often checked with us if we were happy.

The receptionist are nice and helpful and she offered me a very good deal upgrade to a Oceanview business suite. However we stayed there for one nite and we found the room is not cool enough and the temp. inside the room shows 25c all the time even we turn to lowest with higher fan also the noise was so loud . Anyway talked to Anna & Kate next morning and she changed our immediately. I think they are good and efficient without asking more questions or sent somebody to check and so on blar blar blar, Anyway the rest of my stay were prefect and Anna came up to say goodbye even she wasn't on duty position . I definitely will stay with pullman on my next trip to Sanya

The reception offered a careful service when I checked out on Arp.9. I forgot some coats in the room cabniet and she helped me to get them back. But I marked housekeeping signal in Apr.08 morning at around 11:00am, but there is no clear up when I returned to my room at 15:00pm.

The great service from Pullman was impressed when I was waiting for checking in. The bellman served a wet napkin and couple yogurts, which was really good when I sweated by carrying luggage in the warm weather. The oceanview room is amazing as it has a huge balcony facing the oceanview. The only suggestion about the room is the bedding which could be improved.

It’s good to be there, the staff there are really friendly. They usually welcome us with smile and warm words. The room is tidy and clean and the activities are really suitable for kids. Our kids like them a lot. It’s convenient to the seaside. As for the food, it’s really yummy. We like it a lot,but there were so many people waiting to eat during our stay there. In a word, we were satisfied with our stay.

I stayed in the hotel with my wife and two kids along with another family that has three kids. We really liked the ocean view room and the fact that we had an additional bed in there for our 2 year old kid. I requested that and I was very happy the hotel made it happen. The amount of entertainment for kids is simply amazing. This was impressive. The only real thing to improve: There is quite a big gap between the staffs capability level. There are amazing service oriented people (For example Edward, Cindy and Jaden who all three are just elite people at the highest level of 5-star service and of course the always kind and welcoming Leila). They even had one Trainee from Nepal, Bob, that was just unbelievably service oriented and then on the other hand there was just so many employees in the restaurants and lobby area that were simply not qualified to work for a 5-star Pullman Hotel. Its not that they were rude or impolite, they seem like good people that simply lack the necessary training to belong with a Pulmann Hotel or any 5-star hotel at all. Its not really their fault - somebody should train them. Simple things: smile, be nice and attentive, don't prioritize your smart phone over checking on your costumer, care about your consumer first - try to remember their preferences. If Bob the trainee at the breakfast buffet can pick these things up being at the hotel for only four months, than it should be possible for the management to teach others to do so as well. Another small thing: try to make sure the dishes taste the same every night. I'm personally not a fan of ordering the same dish twice and having two completely different culinary experiences. I'm sure thats possible to fix... Overall, I will definitely come back with my family. I believe this was a good stay overall and I hope the GM can address some of the input above and the hotel can do better next time. Again special thanks to Edward, Cindy, Jaden, Leila and Bob for exceeding our expectations and that way making it easier for us to overlook the little flaws of the hotel.

« It's a relax, home like stay in Pullman Oceanview Sanya Bay Resort »

We stayed in this hotel for one week and felt really well. It's a great place if you are looking for a peaceful, private, home-like hotel in Sanya Bay area. The best experience it's to enjoy the free movies in the internal small cinema. The food is also delicious. if you don't care it's close to the airport, it must be the best choice in this area.

« A very relaxing three days »

We enjoyed staying at the Pulman Oceanview very much. To start with, they met us at the airport. Then our customer service manager, Kate was waiting at the hotel reception with a lovely warm greeting when we arrived at the hotel. They recognised my Accor gold membership and offered us a room upgrade to a suite as well as early checkin and late checkout. We enjoyed the sunsets every night in the 17th floor executive lounge with drinks and interesting canapés. We found all the staff to be warm and friendly. Congratulations to the management. You have a great team. I hope we have the chance to come back soon.

Well maintained property located 5km away from Sanya's city centre (Jiefang Rd, etc) but does have restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Beach access (swimming not recommended) is via the hotel's dedicated underpass (to cross Sanyawan Road). The hotel has numerous pools, including those catering to children, complete with sand. Decent breakfast. Good views from the rooftop bar. Bathtubs facing out to the balcony. The gem for us was the staff. Welcomer Kate Xie exceeded our expectations and helped us throughout our stay. The concierge staff are all also very ready to help.

A very nice short stay with our family. Nice and clean rooms, good food and a good location. Although a bit cold, we enjoyed the beautiful swimming pools...
