Nice place and I’ve stayed there twice in the past on my way scuba diving to Raja Ampat. Spent 2 hrs at 2 am killing about 50 ants on top and between the sheets. I think some kind of compensation might be in order! It certainly disrupted our sleeping arrangements.

« The check-in process was disappointing »

The hotel is overall good, but there two major concerns that I have experienced during my stay there: 1. Discrimination on the check-in process - My daughter and I arrived in the morning at about 10am from our morning flight. They told me that the check-in should be at 2pm, so we had to wait. They could let me in for an early check-in if I paid IDR 300 thousand. I was about to pay when the receptionist said that they were actually fully booked and the room won't available until 2pm. - at around 12pm. A guest came in and they let him in. I approached the receptionist and asked whether they could also let my daughter and I in because we were so exhausted from our long trip. They said No, and said that I had to wait. But how come that man could get in? I asked, The receptionist baffled a bit, she could not answer my question. And then another receptionist approached and said that the man was actually extending his same room. Something that I found weird because the man was clearly just arriving in the hotel with his suitcases, I could also see clearly that he was asked his ID and to fill the form, something that you don't need to do if you just want to extend your room. Besides, I could hear that he asked the room boy to show him his room. - at around 12.30 another guess also came in, and again they let him in. This time I protest, they said there is no room available. WHAT IS THIS? for him the room was available but for me not? I feel that this is some kind of discrimination against women? or against Muslim? - I was so confused and devastated. I don't mind to wait as long as others also waiting. they owe me an explanation. They finally let me in after I protest. This is so disappointing. This must not happen in a hotel like NOVOTEL, I was expecting a smooth stay there, But the check-in process had ruined all my expectation of Novotel.

I love the unique interior design and the hospitality offered by the hotel staffs. One thing that made me uncomfortable is that my key card needed to be updated everyday in order to open the door and enter the room.

I stayed here for business with 9 people of my team for 2-3 nights. All with breakfast and the receptionist confirmed it (i confirmed it twice). What i expected is in the morning, after exhaustive and long night before, i could wake up late and easily go to the restaurant to have breakfast. But no, i have to wake up early because the restaurant rejecting my team's room number to have breakfast, they said our rooms is room only without breakfast included. The receptionist than call the restaurant and said that the restaurant system is not automatically updated. The restaurant team should have called the receptionist first before rejecting all of my team for breakfast. This shouldn't happen in hotel such as Novotel. Also, about the waiter/waitress in the restaurant. Didn't they were trained to know when actually a guess finish his/her meal? Or even as simple as asking are you finish with this plate sir/madam? Because some of the waiter/waitress without asking and we haven't finish our meal, just took off our plate. Even we put our fork/spoon in 'open'/'not finish yet' position. This shouldn't happen in hotel such Novotel. I choose Novotel because it said has children playground and i am customer that know Novotel is a family friendly hotel. But they have no children playground, still in renovation. The plus is the hospitality of the receptionist, the room is just OK (need a few renovation), the breakfast selection is great, the pick up airport service went well.

« Pleasant stay, but tricky room bill »

Overall experience from checking in to staying at the hotel was nice, however it became tricky during check out, as the room bill presented was more expensive than the one showed upon booking the rooms in accor website. (By room bill, i mean excludding food and beverage bill, which i ended up not arguing anymore, as settling the room bi has taken more than 30mins)

I was satisfied about the recepsionist, very pleasure about the people insides who always be welcoming Me also my family altough my cousin doing a check in process beside Me. Overall, Novotel staffs doing great. Gym area litle bit dark, less lighting Sometimes, swimming pool area is dirty and d water less clean but I love the infinity pool down there. Breakfast is great, more choises..
