Had some issues.

I moved through four rooms due to a lack of maintenance. I'll explain below: In the first room (room number 362), as soon as I arrived, I unpacked my bags and took a shower. When I was using my laptop, I noticed a dripping sound coming from the AC unit. It was blowing cold air but dripping. It soon started to drip water on top of the bathroom door, and I honestly believe it's been like that for quite a while since the door had watermarks and bloated wood on top. I immediately called the reception and reported this issue. The receptionist was kind enough to promptly move me to another room (room number 359). I liked it, but I noticed the AC had a broken flap, which wouldn't affect its functionality. But soon, I noticed this AC wasn't blowing cold air, and it was a very hot day. I reached for the phone to call the reception, and the phone wasn't working. I had to use the elevator and go to the reception again. I didn't want to look like an unpleasant guest, but I had to complain about the AC again. The receptionist kindly offered me another room. So I packed my stuff again and moved to the third room (room number 353). That one was good; the AC was blowing cold air. But as soon as I entered the room, I noticed a mild mold smell in the room. I was so tired that I didn't care much about it. Minutes later, I unpacked my stuff and had to use my laptop, so I sat at the little desk. While I was using the laptop, I noticed a stronger mold odor. It was becoming annoying, so I moved the curtains, and to my surprise, they were EXTREMELY moldy. I felt immensely disgusted. I had to call the reception again, and the phone wasn't working too! I was so tired, exhausted from a 7-hour trip to Cascavel that I fell asleep in a mold-smelling room. I left the AC on all night because it was too hot, and when I woke up, the odor was even stronger. I looked inside the AC, and it was awfully moldy inside. I then wrote a Google review, which was soon seen by the manager. At the time I was leaving for work, the manager reached out to me and apologized for any inconvenience. I took photos of the AC and curtains and showed him. He said he would be moving me to a better room when I come back from work. I also left a handwritten letter to the room maid, asking her to replace the curtains and clean the AC, so I left my phone number written at the bottom of the message. The manager also reached out to me on WhatsApp, apologizing once more for all the inconvenience and that he would provide me another room. As soon as I came back from work, he kindly asked me to pack my bags again and move to room number 862, so I did, and that was a perfect room. The AC was working well, blowing cold pure air, and the curtains were clean. But the phone wasn't working, which I didn't care much about. I am 37 years old, and I swear I have never experienced anything like this in any hotel I've been to in my whole life. I confess with all my honesty that I would NEVER expect Accor/Ibis hotels to provide me with such inconveniences. I'd like to thank you for the immense cordiality the hotel staff provided regarding all the issues I had, especially the manager, who was very kind and understanding of my problem, providing me with a better room. Overall, I will go back to Cascavel every three months, and I'd love to stay at Ibis Cascavel once more. I hope they can provide me with the same room (862) again. Thanks. Best regards.

Room was a bit too cramped, price of drinks and food was absurd.

standard but a bit sterile

PeasmoldWW TripAdvisor review

The Ibis hotel brand is pretty standard worldwide, providing a rather spartan environment that is typically clean, functional and perfect for a short stay. The Cascavel branch is typical, though it is almost more sterile than spartan: apart from the built-in cupboards the rooms contain no furniture other than a bed and a red plastic chair. The bathrooms are similarly spare – not even a plastic cup for a toothbrush. The rooms also lack a safe for valuables. However, the check in agent was very sweet and helpful, and basically advised me not to bother with the hotel ‘restaurant’, as all the meals just came frozen. A genuinely warm welcome like this is worth a lot in a chain hotel! The breakfast was standard for Brazil and I don’t quite follow why other guests found it unsatisfactory. There was an ample choice of fruits, cheeses, breads and hot dishes, even for me as a vegetarian. Everything was fresh and wholesome. Much nicer fare than Ibis in the London airports! Overall, I think the recently built Ibis Cascavel is decent value for money.

Dear guest, thank you for your review, we hope to receive you again soon at Ibis Cascavel.
