Generally good. The computer system was down when I arrived - didn't get my usual accor free drink or wifi access for the stay. Restaurant was fantastic as was the room.

We have stayed here quite a few times in the past however on this occasion we were very disappointed. We had to ask for an upgrade to start (which is very unusual for us as the hotel was far from being full capacity). Being a platinum member breakfast is always included however this time they argued the point and after visting reception to query I was able to finally have my breakfast. Overall we were not made feel very welcome so our stay unfortunatley was very disappointing.

Recently I have stayed at the Mercure, Penrith quite a few times. On this occasion, it wasn’t available, so I booked into the Novotel West HQ. The precinct is presently subject to building works, so navigating my way to reception was a bit tricky, but the hotel experience was fine. However, my feedback here really relates to my experiences at the Mercure Penrith. As an Accor Plus Member, (presently silver, but formerly gold), I am aware of the privileges of being loyal to one hotel brand. But it seems that the loyalty ‘treatment’ at Penrith is intermittent. I have stayed here (presently booked for 4 nights) on about 5 different occasions. Sometimes the welcome mat is rolled out and I’m treated with the little things like speedy checkin, complimentary drinks, water bottle in the renovated room and chocolates. One time, I even received a phone call the day before check in, to confirm the room was ready for me. Other times ( and sometimes by the very same people who checked me out 2 days earlier), I have to go through the full process of filling out my full details, provide a drivers licence and credit card, -even though I might have shown my Accor card! I’m then treated like I’m an unknown and in one instance, given a room that really wasn’t fit to be let due to the noise of the generator running 24 hrs non-stop outside the window. It’s puzzling. The way I book is always the same. I just don’t get it. The hit:miss ratio is 50:50 I’m presently booked here all this week and next. You won’t lose me as a customer over this, but you probably would upset others who might not return. It does make me wonder why I spent the money to be an Accor plus member and I will likely not renew next year. Regards, Michael.

I was pleased for the earlier than usual check in and also with the family room I was given. There was a bit of a stuff-up regarding my early arrival and the construction project out the front took away obviously from the general ambience. The noise sometimes was a bother.

Welcome staff and room lovely. Dining in the evening excellent. Woke up very early Saturday morning to loud noise of machinery very disappointed. Breakfast wasn’t great not a lot to pick from and most of the hot food was cold.

Fast check in, picked up key pack and straight to my room, have to love being an Accor Member. Room clean light and well presented. Personal Welcome note, chocolates. Restaurant, good food, decent selection of wines by glass, real coffee. Overall a great place to stay Highly Reccomended.

My wife and I have stayed here on many occasions, just to get away from the madhouse of business and family. We can sleep in no one to bother us and stagger back to our room from The RSL club if we so wish. It will be even better when all the improvement works are complete.
