As usual, my experience was simply spectacular. From the warm and very genuine lobby welcome by Rodrigo and Geraldine, to the special chocolate cookies and kind note left in my room by Luciano, to the cheery wake up call each morning from Martin, to the very gracious and professional room service each night by Xavier, and finally to the incredibly kind and helpful porter service of my VERY heavy and numerous bags by Gerrardo and the amazing Gabriel - the entire team works together to make a guest's experience really spectacular. Thank you Team Sofitel Carrasco for another wonderful stay - you are like family to me!

I have the immense luck of being able to travel all over the world throughout the year for different reasons (work and pleasure). Among the dozens of hotels I have been to, I am certain to state that Sofitel Montevideo Casino is the one that provided the most exclusive and unforgettable experience by far. From the first to the last employee we came across, they were really devoted to make our stay unparalleled. Maria José (Assistant General Manager) and Guillermo (Maître) stood out among all of them, adding some perks to the experience that made it even more impressive. Thankfully, we can say we left two good friends at Sofitel and I'm sure we will cross paths again in the future. 200% recommended.

I stayed here for a week as work trip. Staff was extremely helpful. Hotel looks gorgeous and does have that wow factor feel. I was also given a sea facing view which was lovely to wake up to. The location was great for my work office but it was a little away from down town. Also, I like to workout when Im at hotels on long stays. A larger selection of heavier dumbell weights would have been awesome.

I was in room 416 which was an extraordinary experience. Thank you for that. One little thing annoyed me, though. The electric sockets in that room are not all placed logically. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to switch the light on and off. Otherwise great.

Everything worked (except the TV which was fixed.) My only complaint is that the lighting in the room was patchy and that by the bed was not bright enough. Dining room was superb in every respect.

I don’t think I have ever experienced a worst experience when it comes to noise issues. We checked in at 6pm for one night, and at the check in told the person at the reception that we needed to rest since we had a flight to catch at 6am. It was a lovely surprise when at around 9 pm we started hearing noises, music and someone entertaining guests with a microphone and professional sound system right above us. When at 11 pm I came down the person at the reception told me that yes, there was a birthday party on the room above ours, as if thia was the most common thing to happen at a 5-star hotel. The person was completely aloof and told us that the best she could do would be to change rooms- which would be delightful at that time of the night and with an impending chek out at 3:30am Never staying there again and making sure that we describe our experience in as many websites as possible.

« A great 5* hotel in a superb location »

We have stayed several times at this Sofitel since it’s opening some 5yrs ago. The hotel is in a totally renovated historical 100year old Casino buildings .The lobby is a spectacular Art Deco space that in itself is worth a visit. The room we had was a luxury double with a nice view on the beach.Design is functional,but also comfortable and tastefully decorated. It was ready for an early check in before noon,which was much appreciated. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, also quite a splendid space.Food was good and service very attentive.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this one of a kind, 5 star property. Spectacular design, gorgeous room, wonderful bed and very attentive staff. The small things: special brand shampoos, body lotions, etc. Proper lighting in the bathroom. Good hairdryer. A small tray of nuts that arrived with my wine when I ordered room service. A special mention of staff: Camila, Geraldine, Roolripo(sp?) and Romina. What a welcome I received every morning and evening. Big things: I arrived back at the hotel Wednesday after a day of museum hopping. I stopped at the desk to thank the staff for their recommendations whereupon they informed me that I was supposed to have checked out that morning and headed to Punta Del Este! I had mixed up my dates and was having such a great time that I forgot. The lovely woman informed me that it was no problem and that I could keep my room another night or check out immediately and there would be no charge for the extra day. THAT is why I'll remember the Sofitel Hotel and return again.
