Ibis is not the Ritz and so expectations nees to be realistic. We've stayed in Ibis hotels before ans have generally been satisfied. This lacked two things. Air conditioning dis not work and the fan provided was not effective. The breakfast was of modest quality and, as we stayed for 4 nights was repetitive. Good location and generally helpful staff

Dear lan W Thanks your feedback for us. We are now under planing to change our breakfast concept. I am not sure that will be better than now or not, but we will try to some change and modify it. Also, kinds of air condition system is one of our weakness because it is central ventilation system. But we more try to turn it on frequently in summer season such as July and August. Staff was helpful in every occasion, little barrier with English but we got to the point in the end :) Troubles with air-con - were working still at the same temperature not mater what set it up.. Would welcome something more intercontinental on breakfast ;) Overall very happy with the stay even it was short.

The room temperature cannot be adjusted and it went up to 26 degrees. We were sweating throughout the night. We have reflected the problem after the first night, but problem couldn't be solved.

This was the third time staying with this IBIS Ambassador in Insadong. The staff was friendly and helpful as always! That is your biggest asset! I was disappointed by a few items: the air conditioning never worked properly in our room, even after the "engineer" came three times. The temperature in our room was never below 26 C degrees. I was extremely frustrated by this, as I was unable to sleep. There was no bar available anymore in the lobby, or anything on the rooftop. This was also disappointing. The breakfast was the same every morning, which I regretted paying for, for two weeks while we stayed there. Again, these were not staff issues. These seemed to be hotel policies.

The overall experience was very good, but the air conditioning in room 638 was not good. When I told the person at the front desk, they told me that there was not much they could do about it , so the brought a portable fan to my room

« I Love Staying at this Hotel »

I stayed for two nights, which was different as I usually just stay at the hotel for one night when I visit. The staff is always every attentive and helpful. Check in and check out is always quick with no hassles. Noticed there wasn't a shoe horn in my room anymore but the staff put one in there for me. Why aren't they in the rooms anymore? Who knows; stuff changes. Overall another pleasant stay. I'll have to stay for two nights more often.

« Perfect Stay if AC was efficient »

Location, cleanliness, service, staffs politeness all were very good, though toilet was too small but for size of room and location of hotel it wasn't big deal. However, while we were staying 3 nights we had hard time sleeping with A.C. on 2nd day morning we complained and reply was that central A.C. was just on for this year so it ll take time to cool whole building. So we waited bit on that night again we slept in sweat and we complaint again but reply was that we should understand that A.C. isn't sufficient. Again, staffs were polite and kind and tried to help but we were upset and shocked that we pay for the room but should understand for inefficient a.c.

« it could be better. »

- The hotel set the discount rate of breakfast for silver accor plus member lower than general guest (10% and 25%, respectively). Although it is true that i can get the general guest's discount rate, it is still disappointing for me as a accor member. I mean, at least the hotel should set the equal discount rate. - The room is not clean enough. - Hotel's maid did not provide the floor towel in bathroom in some days, and when we called to front desk and asked for it, they said they didn't have it!?!?! (but i got it in 3 out of 5 nights), how could it be possible that they don't have it. Good point is that it is close to the good place to dining, shopping, sightseeing. But if you expect the Ibis standard, it is disappointing.
