Hotel fine very clean, room a little small but ok for short break. Be good to let customers know about building works before the arrive but wad not too much of an inconvenience. Offered a complimentary drink on arrival which was nice as it was very warm, nice gesture.

We do have large rooms available in the hotel so for future whenever you wish to make the booking please contact our reservations and they will be happy to assist you to book a room as per your requirement. Apologies for the disturbance from the construction site but the work is going on from last 1 year and may continue for next 2 years. It's practically impossible for us to contact each and every guest before their arrival to inform them about the construction site and also sometimes the works is going on in full fledge and at times it's paused. I spent 2 nights at the Mercure Paddington from 4-6 July. I chose this hotel as I was attending Wimbledon and the proximity to Paddington Station was great. Unfortunately this was the only good thing. Check in staff were not welcoming at all, room was tiny, noise was awful and breakfast was the WORST I ever had anywhere in the world. It was cold, variety was dreadful and it looked like it had already been half eaten. I actually thought it was a joke ! there was 1 quarter of a mushroom on the plate ! not at all what I expected paying €600 for a 2 night stay. Staff were very cold and unwelcoming. I walked through reception a number of times and not once did anyone raise their heads, make eye contact or say good morning / afternoon. Working in PR many years this is not a good first impression. Training in people skills are definitely needed!

Dear Mr Rogerio Carvalho, Thanks for inviting me to make comments on your recent service at the Mercure London Paddington. I have filled in lots of survey from your hotel group, yet found no response to any comments or complaints that I have made before. I suspect its a machine run mechanism built due to compliance, and even none of anyone from your group will bother to read and make effort to improve. Why I come to this conclusion, as I am your loyalty member and business member for years (you can check record), the bad impression to me is that the service among hotels are really varied a lot even to the level of cannot identify any sense of your group. I want to lodge my recent complaint to the hotel I stayed at London June 24 - 28.. ON June 26, I asked your on-duty counter staff to apply for late check out due to my evening flight. I asked to check out at 4:00 pm, at first he said no, but after identified that I am your Business member, he said okay, no problem. Yet, on June 28 noon, I found my room card not working so went to ask help from the counter. Your on-duty staff said my latest check out can only be 1:00 pm due to the rooms are all full. I argued that your colleague has said okay two days ago.. He still said that he has no record on who have promised. Hence, can only stay till 1:00 pm. I felt angry . After my returning to my room for quick packing up, I got a call from him again saying that after checking, my request for late check out till 4:00 pm is no problem. I then keep on my computer work. Whilst I was having my bath before going to airport, my door was knocked, and phone rang but I did not answer as in bathing. After getting dressed, opening the door, your house-keeping incharge said how long I still wish to occupy the room as its already 2:00 pm... I said to her that I got the call that my request for late check out at 4:00 pm was confirmed a call from your colleague. She said she was not the one who called, and I have to return the room asap. I got mad and said okay, give me ten minutes for packing up. Finally, I rushed and returned the room key to the counter before 3:00 pm, the counter staff all dared at me saying that I have not been approved to stay until now......... You can see from the above situation, how badly managed is your customer service and even breaking the promise... May I demand you to study the case and give me a full answer of what have happened, and any thing you need to improve. I am invited to renew my business membership in July, before getting your prompt answer, I would not make this renewal, and even may finally withdraw and delete my membership at your group. I don't like to be engaged with a group of hotels who did not response and respect the promise. Yours sincerely Timothy M.

« Lovely Hotel, friendly staff and good connection »

I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff on arrival, the room was clean with all mood cons required, free wifi, upgrade, water and a treat. The only reason I have not given 10 out of 10 is for two minor things. Breakfast was included in my rate but will be served in a connected restaurant, the choice and quality of food there is medium I had much better in other AccorHotels. Secondly be careful with you room key card every evening upon return the card was erased and I had to return to reception to get the card activated again. Otherwise great Hotel and I will be back.

Booked a standard double room. Was assign a compact room as nothing else was available. Got a refund to match the lower rate, but would have preferred the room I booked. In general a nice hotel but not really worth the rate most days.

Staff was very helpful. There was a problem with the room. I had booked a double One paying a lot of Money but I got a tiny single for the First 2 days because they were full. Finally they gave me a double One for the third while my Wife and small daughter joined me.

« Disappointing and rude »

When trying to order room service the man was so rude no hello or goodbye. He answered yes! The room service meal was shocking no condiments and the food was awful and looked like it had been thrown on the plate. When I checked out I was left queuing for ages and then the lady asked for my card without confirming the amount. It has really put me off staying there again. There was also confusion around my loyalty card number they said in check in there were 2 numbers. I asked that it be sorted in case I don’t get the points but lady said it will be fine. I am not convinced at all.

« Awful experience...the worst ever. »

The Hotel is a complete fraud. The picture shown in the website are a fraud. Does not correspond to the same Hotel. The pictures present a modern, with lots of space, gym, professional staff, well dressed.....Reality is exactly the opposite. Everything is old and degraded. The room looks like a prison cell. I´ve booked a Standard room with 1 double bed and the size of the bed is ridiculous, 1,20m!!!!! The Staff is unprofessional. The Manager Mr. Ravi, was the most unprofessional and unpleasant a human being can be. In the end I paid €300/room/night!!!! Absurd. I´m a Accor Membership and I´ve never had such a bad experience. Please change the Hotel pictures, change the brand, to a low cost one, change the staff, decrease the price.

We had a lovely stay once again. Mr Witek was especially helpful taking our luggage to our room we were given to relax in as our wasn't ready. He came upstairs and moved it again when our room became available. He always greeted us with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.
