« Excellent location, staff and total experience »

I stayed three nights with my adult daughter and cannot stress enough what a wonderful hotel this is. The location is perfect for any type of trip, right next to Paddington station and with an abundance of shops and food possibilities in the same street! Breakfast is delicious in the cafe attached to the hotel. Room size and amenities was perfect. This was the 7th hotel on our Europe trip and by far the best in both our opinions. I doubt I’d stay anywhere else in London again and I’ve been here three times before. Do give it a try and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

I have stayed at the Mercure Paddington many times before and would obviously not do so if I didn't enjoy the experience. The location is excellent and the staff are efficient and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.

« Ageing Hotel in a good location »

Honestly I have been a bit disappointed by my stay. I chose that hotel as I am a platinium member of Accor Plus and for its proximity to a conference I joined. The location is great as it's just next to the paddington station. The check-in was OK but I did not receive the goodies that we usually get as platinium member (welcome drink voucher, etc...). I could have asked but I dont believe we should ask as it's complimentary. The staff is very nice and helpful however I am unsure if they are all aware of the advantages of Accor club. The room I had was quite small but I believe it's normal in London. The air conditioning was not working very well but I think it's normal as the hotel seems to be quite old and is ageing. The room was a bit noisy but it's normal as next to the tube, when a train passes, you can hear it and feel it (vibrations), so it's probably not the best hotel for people who have sleeping issues.

Noisy and very small room with basic facilities. Definitely not on a par with other 4* hotel in the area. Room service was particularly disappointing in terms of very poor quality of food, warm white wine and some of my order was missing - I'd have had a better meal in the McDonalds downstairs.

Extremely convenient to Paddington station but room extremely small for price. Clean , good hot water. Air conditioner was so noisy that we couldn’t leave it on at night, roadworks outside so leaving window open was noisy. Bed was comfortable. But wouldn’t stay again in such a small room

Very short, one night, stay. Perfect if you are travelling through Paddington, which we were. Rooms are small, typical in London, so wouldn't recommend for a long stay.

« Great little sejourn »

The hotel room was perfectly clean with great housekeeping stocking supplies well. Certainly appreciated the daily water rwstock (other Mercures provide 1 bottle per stay, even if you are there a week. Your free android smartphone was a god send. it was not advertised on your web pages. YOU MUST, The room key would not work and often had to go and have it reset. Althpugh the staff werw helpful, it would of appreciiated that more of them smiled when they helped. Other than that will be coming back soon

Room was very small compared to the picture posted on the accor website. Air-Conditioning was just too noisy - I understand why there were ear-plugs made available... Noise isolation between room was poor as well.

« A most pleasant experience--from the staff, the room, the bathroom--the ambiance of the hotel. »

Right away the desk clerk told us to let her know if we were happy with the room. We asked for a larger one and were upgraded immediately--a king bed which she said would be made into two twin beds. By the time we had lunch and came back, the beds were done. The bath was beautiful. The whole room was so clean and posh. The service of the hotel staff was excellent. This is an amazing hotel and the location is perfect for in and out of Paddington. Would stay again in a heartbeat!!!

« Perfect - except for the VERY early start caused by bedroom blinds! »

Couldn't fault the hotel for sheer convenience and proximity to Paddington, helpful staff, good facilities in room, comfy bed but... I was woken at 5.10 by the light coming in from (and under) the slatted blinds. They might as well have not been there at all, the purpose they served! I really thibk you should do something to resolve this.
