My Wife and I stay here lots for two or more days at a time (5/6 times this year). We find everyone helpful and willing and always pleased to see us. Rooms are clean and predictable and the standard is fine. This hotel is ideally located for all our needs. Great coffee too.

« Charged twice for my room, no apology »

When arriving at the hotel, I stated that I had already paid for the room. Your staff insisted that I pay again. Of course, I had already paid and I was charged again for the room. When I called to get a refund, I was given lots of excuses and told I might not even get a refund. I had to call the hotel several times, comment on your facebook page, send a private message and make a formal complaint through resolver to get a refund. I still haven't had an apology. I actually thought about booking one of your two hotel in Exeter this month, but after my experience at your London hotel, I have decided to book the Hotel Du Vin in Exeter instead.

« Lovely staff, great location, nice hotel but Tiny rooms »

Enjoyed breakfast, the bar, the overall feel of the hotel. I have stayed at Mecure hotels many times previously and everything is what I expected from the brand but the room which was a double for 2 people was not big enough there was less than half a meter between the end of the bed and the wall and you needed to go through that space to get to the wardrobe and the desk. I was not expecting a big room but the size/layout of the room did not work.

« Great staff... rooms need some TLC.. »

Location is great and the staff are exceptional, given the fabric of the building. And what they have to deal with. The rooms are exceptionally small and my standard double could only fit a queen sized bed. The TV had no channel guide and there was clear signs of wear and tear in the room. There was only one lift, and there were times to wait, but being a Sunday evening, was ok. Bedside light had a broken switch and this was a hard wired one. It was reported j check out. Towels and bedding clean and comfortable.

« We don't carry photo ID by law in the UK »

At check-in, I was asked for photo ID. I live in the UK and, the last time I looked, I don't need a passport to travel to London, in fact British citizens are not required to carry photo ID cards at all. This is the first time I have been asked for my passport in my home country. One of the receptionists wanted to tell me I couldn't stay, the other was more reasonable and we stayed! A lot of my Accor group stays have been in France and I've never been asked for my passport there, so why at this hotel? Reservation number and credit card is the norm. There were also 2 rooms in their system under my name, despite me only having reserved one. They cancelled one without charge. The "superior" room was very small. I am glad I didn't book a standard one! It was clean, but very shabby. The bar area was small, an extension of reception really. On returning from our evening out, we had a drink in the bar. This was OK as I was with my husband, but I would not have felt comfortable doing this on my own or with a female friend. Breakfast was good, with one of the best scrambled eggs ever tasted on a hotel. On leaving the hotel, there is a low platform, slightly raised over the pavement. It is uneven and I twisted my ankle on the edge and fell, damaging my elbow, knee and hip. Most of the staff were lovely.

Had a short stay before setting out on a five day tour of the south of England. Staff were friendly and allowed me to leave a bag there for five days. The room and the whole facility were meticulously clean. It was very convenient to shopping and transportation.

Our experience was as always very enjoyable as that is where we always stay when in London.The staff are very friendly and nice always willing to assist.Particular mention must be made of IMAD, the reception manager who always has a welcoming smile on his face gives us the best any time come we come around.The room we stayed in was clean and the beds well laid.The mattress is soft ad the fluffy pillows guaranteed a good night sleep.The English breakfast was delicious and had top hold myself from overeating.On the whole it was a rewarding experience.

Did my booking at 1am, book out at 9m, in other words very whort term. I can say that the room was not very ergnomic : narrow passage from bed to wall, hard to cross with my luggage. The bathroom was not very useful (and I use the word useful on purpose) : yes I took a shower but it was impossible to find a convenient place to put my vanity case. D

I found it OK reception was quite helpful and check in was quick and easy. I found the room was quite cramped for 2 people and extremely difficult to move around in. The bathroom was also quite cramped and rather difficult to dry oneself after a shower. However I guess you get what you pay for for one night. Breakfast was average but the cooked breakfast the bacon was a bit tough and the tomatoes were more raw than cooked.

« The location is very good »

The hotel staffs are very good and helpful specially the front desk staff. I’ve booked a room for 2 persons,when I’ve check in and saw the room I was a bit disappointed . The room and bed is really small. I went to the reception and told the receptionist about it . I told him I want to upgrade and immediately Ahmed finds me a room. And he didn’t charge me for any extra costs. Ahmed was really helpful and kind same with other night staff with him. Thank you for making our stay very pleasant .

« nice location. interior needs an upgrade »

It isn't the first time I stay at this hotel but there's a clear need to upgrade the interior of the rooms has they are far away from Mercure and Accor standards. Also there's a need to improve on the cleaning team has on the day of arrival there's was hairs on the wall of the shower clearly from a lady that previously stays on this room and even after 2 nights they were on the same place. The closet is too small and the doors, besides not working anymore, do not allow you to have clothes inside the closet.
