I really had great stay in mercure Kensington London. The staff was very helpful and polite. Only thing was I wanted charging points bed sides. I would recommend people to please stay here if you are coming to London as this place is centrally located.

Not up to the standards on your French hotels - small room in need of decorating and the bathroom needs revamping with walk-in shower as opposed to a shower over the bath with a smelly shower curtain. Charged £20 for 2 glasses of Prosecco and 1 x bag of cheese and onion crisps through room service - extortionate - especially as we are card holders and we were told that we would be looked after. « Comfortable hotel in great location but small room for price with basic amenities »

I had booked this hotel using Accor Reward points. Was assured it was a large room. We couldn't even find a place to put our bags! This was supposedly an upgrade!! Good points were that room was clean, comfortable and we slept very well. Location near Earls Court shops, supermarket and launderette was excellent. Lots of little things annoying. Silly bit of timber (very small) bar fridge balanced on; weak shower stream, carpet worn, took 24 hours to cool room down, etc. Had a few problems with bar/cafe service. TV was load and we asked if it could be turned down. Noeone was watching it. Staff member said - "no we will leave it like this, we are watching it!" I was astounded!. We had a light dinner with drinks in the cafe and that was actually very good. Overall 7/10 but look at other options before returning here.

We acknowledge the hotel staff were friendly and the hotel had good proportions and is well located however there were a few setbacks...the room required deep cleaning or renovation, the fridge did not work resulting in spoilt milk for our morning coffee, room service did not have the ingredients to make half of the items on the menu, the wifi wouldn’t work consistently and there were stains all over the main corridor hallway.

« An OK hotel »

We stayed two nights, before and after a bus tour, rooms 306 and 106. Booked through the tour company which gave us a discount (??) The rooms were not big but we had a king bed and adequate room. It was clean, had a tiny elevator, good breakfast and a good location. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. That’s the good part. The “not so good” parts were the plumbing and the electricity. Sometimes the toilets would flush, most times they would not. The windows don’t open. The room was warm and it took us a long time to figure out that you have to put your room key card in the little box by the door in order for the air conditioner to work. (The room next door was without electricity all night.) And the phone didn’t work. There are no maintenance people there after 5:00.

This hotel is ideally situated close to Earls Court Underground and easy to find. It was good to see staff’s familiar faces. We had specifically requested a low floor room away from the lift shaft but were given 3rd floor Room 315. This was outside the room maids’ storage cupboard where they chatted loudly early each morning. Unfortunately there is a new club in an adjacent property with coloured lights, plastic flowers, tents and loud music for several hours after midnight on the window side of our room that certainly disturbed our sleep unless we closed the window in the warm weather. It is obviously not the fault of Mercure Kensington where we had excellent breakfasts and service.

Rooms very tired and small. Booked privilege room which technically speaking is an upgraded room type although didn’t look like it. Ac didn’t work properly (very hot and loud), mini bar/fridge broken, no room change offered just bucket of ice instead, no coffee machine in room available as per room description just kettle and instant coffee... Bathroom even worst than room..very tired and definitely not **** star.... :( Lady at the check in not very welcoming, rest of staff during stay was okey. Unfortunately will not book again regardless good location.

The overall experience was good. The room was clean and the breakfast was tasty. However, none of the staff were welcoming or even smiling from the reception to the bar. Make us feel like we were a burden. I even found one of the manager at the reception very agressive as I was trying to explain a problem that I have. We did book with an Accor staff rate but still !!!

I am a long time, loyal customer of Accor Hotels, particularly Mercure and Novotel. I was very disappointed in this most recent stay, and I offer my criticism in the spirit of hopefully bringing deficiencies to the attention of management. 1. Staff were consistently courteous and helpful and no complaints about staff. 2. We stayed in a “Privelege” room, but neither the AC nor the fan to the AC worked, despite the fact that the lights on the thermostat indicated the unit was working. 3. We were kindly moved to a new room that was initially cooler. But in this room, the AC still did not work, and no lights came on to indicate that it was working. We alerted the management and the AC was corrected during the second day. 4. We also pointed out that the clothes closet doors were apparently off their slider hangers and the doors were difficult to move. We reported this, but no correction was made during our stay. 5. Breakfast was served from 6:30 to 10:30 on Tuesday morning, day 3. We missed day 2. We arrived in the breakfast room at 9:15. As we arrived plates were being removed from the hot foods table, and serving spoons were being removed from the plates where they rested and placed inside the hot food chafing dishes. By 9:30, fresh fruits were not being replaced. Our own dishes were removed from out table virtually before we finished eating from them. The message was clear that we needed to hurry up and get out. Some guests arriving after 9:30 had less than a full selection of food to choose from. By the time we left at 9:50, there were three people left eating in the breakfast room and the clean up and resetting of the room was nearly complete. I think this is situation is inexcusable. If breakfast if served from 6:30 to 10:30, then as guest I expect that a complete selection of fresh food should be available until 10:30. I don’t expect everything to be fully topped up, but I expect that I should be able to chose from a complete selection of the daily offerings. On a positive note, the staff were in all cases pleasant and acknowledged our criticism or complaints. We truly appreciate the comfort and location of the Mercure London Kensington hotel. We would just like to see the hotel live up to standards....and promptly fix deficiencies in the accommodations.

Good experience. But was not happy with taxi that was ordered for us. We were told twice that we would be able to pay with credit card. But this taxi said he would like cash, if not would have to call his office if we used card and there would be a fee Also did not drop us off at airport terminal as close as other taxis were doing.
