« Lower than expected experience »

Having requested to have good aircon room upon check in online, arriving at 11pm the room took a long time to cool and throughout the night not cold enough even though manual setting for the coldest. No remarks at check in but on check out - delay and stressed about the reception wanting something from me about MC membership yet there was no mention on booking form , VERY VERY ANNOYED :( :( :( :(;(;(

Location is walking distance to Podium and Megamall about 5-15min walk. Room size is good enough. The toilet door could be improved. Not sure if it matches the price value per night.

« CORRUPTION AT THE RECEPTION »

I made an online check-in with early Morning check in and late check out. It was confirmed. ON THE ARRIVAL THE ROOM WAS NOT PREPARED. « Good, cheap but air con problems »

We stayed for 2 separate nights at Mercure. I thought the check in was pretty fast and efficient and the staff was well prepared even if we arrived at 1am. The second check in was okay as well. The room during the first night had airconditioning problems and we found ourselves very hot in the morning. We tried to control the temperature in the middle of the night but there were issues with the temperature reader. We complained about it when we checked out, only to find out that it was a known issue by the staff but they did not inform us beforehand. Generally, the ambience of the hotel - the check in counter area, the restaurant and the lift lobby needs to be improved. Hotel lobby decorations are not so obvious, the lighting very poor The Kalesa restaurant switches off their lights during lunch when there is no one around. For a guest eating lunch, this is very weird. The place looks uninviting to eat during this period. The corridor at the lift lobby is dark and disorientating. I found myself going to the wrong direction for this hotel, which is quite unusual for me. The check out experience is good and quick. I thought that was quite a good thing.

Mercure hotel has been my favorite hotel wherever I visit a place e.g. Brazil, Japan, Hongkong etc. and I have been in this Ortigas location for several times now but I notice that quality of service is deteriorating from the choices of food and to some of daily amenities e.g. parking spaces which they are charging penalties which I do understand but the fees are rather high . I understand that Mercure is becoming more popular and there are a lot of guests at the hotel, the quality standard should improve more so that guest satisfaction is always guaranteed.

The hotel is located in a walkable distance to several shopping malls and there is small convenient store just right below the hotel. Love the fast check-out system. It could be better if the gym is 24hr operation as the guests need to use room keycard to access anyway. Having the hotel entrance and lobby at different levels is a bit troublesome. Waiting for the lifts could be a bit long especially during the peak hour in the morning as they stop at the hot spots such as dining hall, lobby and then the hotel entrance.
