I have stayed at Novotel twice and was welcomed back by many of the staff. I only speak English, but the front desk staff speak good English and were so helpful and friendly.

« Service was very inneficient »

We were there due to the Rock in Rio. But it was clear that the hotel was not prepared for such event. We took 1:05hs in the line to do the check in. A chaos without any organization. Only 2 guys at the front desk having to run to a very longlasting process to do the check in. During the breakfast another example of lack of preparation from the hotel. Items were not replaced, we waited several minutes to have water, glasses and other items replaced in the buffet. Definitely it was not according the standards we expect from Accor hotels.

« Hotel that meets expectations »

Location: The hotel is in a nice location with the mall right opposite and easy access to public transport. Room: Rooms are well furnished. WiFi: The Wifi is good and provides good bandwidth. It does not drop connections Breakfast: The offering is good with a decent selection. I did not like the scrambled eggs; perhaps the chef should go back to school to see how this is prepared.

« Just an average hotel in the city of rio. »

The room allotted to me did not have the air conditioning properly working. Called receptionist, she send a maintenance team member after about 20 minutes. The guy was looking helpless and I asked to change the room if the problem can not be repaired. So, I was transferred to another room where the situation with air-conditioning was same. So the stay in the hotel was uncomfortable for me. The food at restaurant was not that tasty and the buffet layout and choice of items were pathetic for a hotel like yours.

We had to change rooms due to the strong musty smell. We chose a sparkling water in the refrigerator, but once opened, the water did not contain gas. False appearance of sparkling water. The salt bread from the breakfast was terrible. How old and tasteless.

« Not what I expected »

The overall service was decent but with some outstanding issues: 1) The bar service was slow and not exactly friendly. I had to wait for 15 minutes seated at the bar before someone shows up and offer me something to drink. It took another 10 minutes for the bartender to make it. Several staff member saw me alone at the bar and did nothing. 2) the lobby was pretty noisy and disturbing. There a blender at the bar that is noise than a helicopter. On top of that there were kids messing around beyond the limits of social standards. Somebody had to do something. I understand kids play and do noise but not like that. 3) two lights in my bedroom were not working. Minor issue but demonstrates some lack of zeal.
