The room was comfortable and clean with all the staff very friendly. Pity there was a coach party in, so unable to use the restaurant . The hotel was well situated for our visits to National Trust properties and the very interesting town of Tunbridge Wells.

Pleasant enough but not great value for money. Felt like it was targeted more towards the wedding business. Leisure center wasn't open due to issues. Bar wasn't very big and was understaffed. The cockerel at the house next door woke us all up at 5am.

have not stayed since 1999 new years eve. so was looking forward to another gathering. the staff are brilliant helpfull and smiley... goes a long way. but chairs by the bar are in such a bad state (sticky with drink) that sitting in that area makes you cring. the carpets throughout look to be the same as 19 years ago and i understand that they maybe 20 year contract but mostly held together by tape the corridoors were freezing as the weather had dropped significantly but all fire exits wide open and any available windows. our bathroom door has a squeak... not a problem through the day but at three in the morning it sounds like i am trying to break into the Tower of London. scum line on the pool was a bit of a shame and the wonky door for the steam room. well you did ask.

Hotel was alright but customer service throughout the very hot stay over was slow. Bathroom needed a good clean especially the tiles and shower door. Bathroom fan was not working. Shower head was fixed in one position into the wall, which was annoying. No built-in AC in the room. Portable fan provided in the room was not powerful and was useless. TV remote didn't work properly. Couldn't open room window for natural fresh air. Parking problem if you come back to the hotel very late at night. All fried food for breakfast was oily. Toaster machine didn't toast the bread properly.

I found my room to be good, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. An issue was that the bathroom extractor fan in my room ran continuously and despite reporting this three times was not fixed.

Wedding guests took priority over all other guests who were relegated to dining in the Conference room. Leisure facilities were closed. One of our rooms wasn’t ecen booked in. Very busy breakfast with things running out.

2 main issues the water glasses in the bedrooms were not changed, so that when we reappeared the next evening, the glasses were where we left them. Lightng in the car park non existence, and on a dark night difficult to find way in/out, and 'dangerous' walking from wher the car parked to the hotel entrance

« Disappointing at the price »

Rooms tired and dated (too much brown made them drab). Bed was large and clean though. Dinner was average but breakfast was dire. We stayed two nights bed and breakfast but didn't bother to go back on the second morning and went to the garden centre over the road instead. Staff in the restaurant were lovely and friendly though. This hotel feels like it is stuck in the 1980s and sorely needs an upgrade especially for the price.

The hotel was in a good location, but its decoration was tired if I was being polite and I specifically booked this hotel for its pool which was not working. These things happen, but it could do with a serious make over. Breakfast however was good.

Overall we and our guests had a very nice experience. With the exception of being asked to give up our tables at Breakfast, WHILE we were eating for another party. I paid a lot of money for our celebrations and my guests who booked rooms that included breakfast. We did not expect to be treated in this way. Some did not have any breakfast because they could not be seated.

« An experience NOT to be repeated »

On arrival we welcomed by a very pleasant receptionist who went through the process of checking us in, she asked if we were intending to use the pool facilities, we said probably not & then found out that the pool was closed anyway! That must have been a big negative to anyone that did want to use the advertised facility. On the way to our room with bags we were approached by your man Ernest who was extremely helpful, cheerful & carried bags & showed us to our room. The room was well appointed with normal facilities but was definitely 'tired' Lots of chips on furniture etc. The following morning we went down for breakfast at 0915hrs, there was a queue of disgruntled guests being told that the restaurant was full, we opted to sit down outside the main restaurant, there was a really nice lady, Lisa, I think, who laid a table for us & brought tea & coffee, however, there was a much depleted stock of breakfast items, all I had was Weetabix & some badly microwaved scrambled eggs, my wife managed to get the last Pain au Chocolate, all in all a rushed & stressful breakfast & certainly not worth £15. Your staff were under too much pressure, there were two events that evening & they wreaking the best of it, when I stay in a hotel I expect better!
