Staff was friendly and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was enjoyable with a variety of options as was the dinner menu. Particularly liked the children menu options. The family room was spacious though I was expecting two double beds as per the website, instead we had a double bed and a sofa bed. The children's pool is a nice touch and the kids found it suitably enjoyable. There was ample car parking spaces. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and would be happy to return should we require accommodation within the area

We stayed in August 2019 on a City Break , e used a taxi to get to & from Norwich city centre a couple of times & the bus once. For two of us going to the city centre the price difference made the taxi our preferred method. The receptionist called the taxi & it was there within 10 minutes, great service. The hotel has a well stocked bar. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice, although the mushrooms were drenched in pepper and the scrambled eggs were gooey. We did not eat in the restaurant as there is a Wetherspoons along the road about 500 metres away with a value for money menu and a great choice of hand pulled beer. My wife enjoyed the swimming pool each morning, the hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and elpful, we will definitely stay again.

Room was clean if a little tired. Pool area was ok but there were no towels at reception or at the pool area. Room service food was delightful, top drawer.

« Just about adequate but quite expensive for the standards provided. »

This is a rather tired hotel in an unremarkable area of Norwich convenient for the Airport. The decor needs replacing as it is very early 90's. The room I had was stuffy and the air conditioning must have been installed by Noah as it was a very dated system which did not work properly. Attention to detail on cleaning was poor. carpets dirty and need replacing in areas. The pool in the leisure centre carried in "tide mark" Food OK but quite pricey. drinks expensive.

« A very happy and comfortable one. The Manager should be proud of his staff, the're great asset. »

Overal the visit was really good, except just 1 visit to the gents loo in the Bar area gave a sordid impression. The loo was grubby and unkept. It may need updating but that is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness. The manager should make timely visits for inspection un-announced. Sorry, that spoilt the impression a little.

Very poor the receptionist was lovely but the experience went done hill from there given room number 69 which when myself and my wife and daughter got the room stunk of garlic then went into the bathroom with a big black tide mark all around the bath it was not clean then we phoned down to reception another lady came up and we where moved to room 74 we had requested a quite room when we made the booking and again this was mentioned at check in room 74 was a little cleaner so we accepted this room not being informed about the grease night that was a event you where running that evening we wanted to book in to the restaurant that evening we where told it was fully booked but where told we could eat in the bar we decided to eat out at the recommendation of your receptionist we went and had one drink in the bar when we arrived back bar made was lovely we went back to our room at 1030 in the evening arriving to the boom and bass of grease my wife could hear and sing every word it was horrendous we contacted receptionist and she offered to move us yet again to room 71 walked down to this room and you could still hear the music we where no informed about this function nor no where on the website mentioned this function I asked the receptionist what time the function would be going on till she went and asked the events person and we where told midnight my daughter is seven years old and we agreed that that would be ok but it never finished until gone 1oclock in the morning I do not think this is acceptable for a family to be staying in these rooms we complained in the morning and the response was it a old hotel and she apologised for us not being told upon check in I don’t think these rooms should be sold to family’s when there are this type of function going on I will be contacting the manager of the hotel when he is back off is hotel this was a disgrace

« A poor experience, shameful for AccorHotels »

An extremely rude and unprofessional receptionist greeted us. Was made to wait as she wandered off and left 2-3 customers waiting. Asked me if I wanted a second key and almost forgot to make one for me. The Privilege room she booked us did not resemble the images on the website, and she replied to say it's the same as a Classic room but with some upgraded bits, which was disappointing and not worth the money. Only one towel in the room (booked for 2 guests) and found a hair in the sink. Room seems dirty and not wiped down or vacuum cleaned. Poor Internet, even though the website boasted high-speed Internet. Air conditioning in the room was extremely loud and had no remote for any settings. TV did not operate properly due to it being set in a different time. Checking out, I disputed some of the costs and the same woman was rude and unprofessional.

We were really pleased with all aspects of our stay at the Mercure in Norwich. The food was good and the wide choice at breafast was really appreciated. All of the staff were excellent and keen to help. The room rate was really good value. We will definitely return.

« A little bit of luxury! »

The interior of this hotel was superb, as was the customer service. We were greeted in a friendly & helpful manner, the receptionist even having a little chat with my 8 year old about Toy Story! The room was large, clean and comfortable, with plenty of fresh towels, a fan and even the option of a sheet in case of hotter temperatures. I have to say though, the best bit of our stay was the swimming pool! Wow! What an absolute treat. We were supplied with fresh towels to go with. It was warm, calm, clean and quiet with lovely soft lighting. The changing rooms were spotless and shower powerful. We didn't make use of the steam room or sauna but they were available had we wanted them. We would definitely look at a Mercure Hotel again and felt it was a little bit of luxury with a friendly touch!

This hotel is great if you are a builder working away from home, as for a relaxing stay forget it ! Bar full of builders,no staff around during day in the bar if you wanted a drink,but come evening when all the builders appear I counted 3 staff behind counter.Was really not impressed with this tired worn out hotel that resembles a 1980 looking tax office.I had 4 Aircon units outside my window buzzing away all night did not sleep well but the bed was funny enough very comfortable.The outside seating area consists of a table and 2 benches which you have to share with builders puffing and vaping away.breakfast was ok all the usual,but please could someone wipe the window boards that are covered with dust and the long dangling web of dust that hangs from the wall lamp above the toasters,check it please I'm sure it's still there.Staff I found were very helpful and pleasant and probably the only reason why people put up with this worn out hotel.

« Well kept hotel, due a refurb, rude members do not like children in the pool »

Breakfast was very nice, would be nice to have meats and cheese also. Room, hotel and grounds are very well kept but it is very retro and needs a refurb. Members trying to do lanes in the tiny swimming pool were rude about the children being in the pool, I would suggest that if they would like to use a pool for exercise that they go to a swimming pool with lanes set out. Staff friendly and free parking is fab. We had a family room suite which was a good size with 2 tv’s which the kids loved! The sofa bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable for my eldest child.

Excellent front desk, Helen was amazing. Ate in restaurant 1st night, food of good standard, waiting staff very friendly and efficient , but lacked finer training aspects such as pouring wine, for tasting! Breakfast was good and more than adequate. Room clean and comfortable, unable to use spa facilities due to husband having had surgery two days earlier, so cannot comment. Overall a pleasant stay, hotel could do with a general revamp, decor dated
