« Worst hotel experience »

Awful experience, paid £140 for a one night stay due to a black tie event at the hotel. The room felt like it hadn't been used regularly, probably one they only us when full up, holes in curtains, no TV remote, iron didn't work, shower didn't work, called reception twice but no one came until well after an hour by which time it was too late. Had to go to event without having showered etc., on way down they did change rooms for me but by then it was too late. Still charged me full price. Would never stay there again.

« Really lovely hotel, had a very enjoyable stay and conference »

Hotel was very nice, a few areas could have done with a bit of decorating. Rooms were lovely and bathroom rooms spacious. Room service was good, although sandwiches a little stale. Food in general was excellent. The design of the hotel was also very impressive, nice furniture touches... Staff were excellent, in particular Morgan who was very professional and efficient and also made us laugh. The evening barman Shane, was also very efficient at his job and made sure that we were looked after during our stay. David the night manager was also extremely helpful and efficient even when I managed to lock myself out of my room putting the room service tray outside of my room, he resolved this issue straight away. The staff could not do enough for you and absolutely made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you... would definately stay again and would recommend to friends and family. We had a great couple of days.

« Poor room maintenance »

The room I stayed in had a number of faults. For a privelage room this is not something I have come to expect from Accor. The folding ironing board fell off the wall mount, missing my foot by inches The hot water flow in the bathroom was inconsistent and came with a danger of scalding in the shower The tv remote required reassembling in order for it to work All mentioned at checkout to the receptionist who did seem overly surprised at my experiences.

I have stayed in this hotel before and found it very local to all the amenities. This time round I didn’t like the room that was offered to me. It was small. No bright lights. Very hot. The windows only opened a fraction. The smell of the doner kebab shop was coming through the window and the whole room smelt of it. The fan supplied in the room didn’t do anything as it was just blowing the hot air around. The bed was soft and sunken on both sides. All the pillows itself smelt of head sweat, which disturbed my sleep. In the end I had to wrap a towel round the pillow. About 3am a couple of boys were making noise in the hallway going into their room. Then about 4am a couple of girls from next door also made noise and laughing and giggling loud which disturbed my sleep. I doubt I will be staying in the future. Plus the price is so high considering the twice I have stayed I have not had breakfast there.

« Poor customer service and noisy stay in a smelly hotel »

Room smelled old, in the morning the restaurant odeur came into my room in 208. Noise from the street was loud untill late and the alarm of my (above I think?) neighbour woke me at 4:30, then his footsteps for 30 minutes kept me awake for the rest of the night. At the bar we wanted to order brownies which were not available, we decided to buy coockies accross the street. Then a hotel employee approached us that it is not allowed to eat your own food in their bar. After explanation her response was: ok, normally it is not allowed but I let you for now because its is just coockies..... customer friendly would be: “I apologize...” The meeting room was good, friendly person dedicated for our service was on it.

« Good but a few little things would have made it perfect »

We arrived early as we were in Leicester for a 1 day music festival which started at 13:00. Without asking about our reservation the receptionist just said we could not check in until 14:00 and stored our bag. So after watching the first band we returned to the hotel to check in. Got to our room on the 3rd floor and the key didn't work so we had to return to reception, all this wasting time when we could have been at the festival. Other hotels have let us check in early if a room is available, this treatment did not do anything to encourage my loyalty to your chain. When we got back from the festival we ordered room service, the food was nice with lovely hot chocolate. The staff were all friendly and the room clean and comfortable. If the receptionist had been able to see if our room was available when we arrived then the stay would have been perfect.

I checked room 322 with my maintenance manager and everything is working fine with heating turned off from the radiator which was turned back on. We had this room in use before and not had complaint to similar nature so I can only assume that this was one off incident. « Rooms are very small, but beds are comfy »

I read reviews beforehand so was aware that the hotel had ben redecorated but was still an old building. Staff on arrival were great, but my room was boiling hot due to the radiator being stuck on. I notified front desk and they said they would send someone up to check while I went for dinner. I returned to find that the window above the radiator had been opened. Not quite what I was looking for as I wouldn't be able to sleep with the noise from outside. I requested to change rooms and was given another room and a free drink voucher. The second room was the right temperature, but was so small I had to press my self against the wall and shimmy pas the end of the bed to get to the bathroom. There was also no mirror near a power socket making getting ready in the morning a little bit laborious. The bed was very comfortable so I slept well and there was a good selection at breakfast. Staff were very good.

« The Room Smelled of Damp »

Arriving late, around 8pm, at the end of April I found the windows had been left open. Having closed them I realised, later in the evening, that the room smelled of damp and mould. I will decline room 406 in the future!

the hotel, the staff the bar, the breakfast the cart park, were all great or fantastic, the WiFi, has in the small print, that they can post as you, this should and probably will be at some point, illegal.

« Needs an update. »

We were staying as part of a conference event but otherwise we would have raised issue with the standard of the room. As a 4* It was really disappointing. Outdated decor, poor quality shower and the double bed in a room for two up against the wall?! There were holes in the seams of the duvet cover. It was very poor. The hot breakfast was cold and the pastries very hard and of poor quality. There was only one bath towel left in the room despite us having two occupants. this was not rectified after housekeeping visited which was even more disappointing.
