« Hotel ok, but couple of really annoying issues. »

Got locked out of room 4 times, key card system needs some serious attention, very frustrating, particularly late at night. Room was noisy all night due to being next to lifts, really annoying hearing a bang and a clunk every couple of minutes.

My second visit this year to Mercure Piccadilly. You really cannot get a better price for a clean, comfy bed. Friendly, helpful staff. Value for money breakfast that tastes great. Tried the car parking this time too and that was super convenient.

« Mixed - some room features good, some meals good. »

Nice assigned room, but COLD. Asked for advice to operate thermostat - didn't work, Staff member came to fix it - couldn't. She found me an electric radiator. Breakfasts excellent. One dinner good. Second poor - fish of day, sea bream, was sold out - replacement had no flavour.

Overall, I think the hotel is good in terms of location and cleanliness. However, there ae like 4-5 channels on TV are not working, it would be better if all channels are accessible.

Hotel in good location, staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. The public areas and bedroom fine but we were disappointed with the condition of the bathroom which as tired with flaking paint, old tiles and stained bath. We were also positioned near to the lifts and we could here a clunking sound during the night.

Staff all very pleasant, friendly and professional. Hotel clean and in good condition. Food and service very good. Bed in accessible room much too high to be considered accessible. I have emailed the hotel about this one shortcoming in provision of accommodation for independent disabled guests.

Car parking directions not clear, ended up parking in the car park next door to hotel Reception area tidy and staff friendly lift system outdated and cards needed refreshing bedroom- quite small, paid for a city view room but couldn't see out of the window due to condensation bedroom and bathrooms need a refresh Bed wasn't comfortable and noise could be heard from other rooms

« Poor wifi and poor bar service »

Wifi was so bad in my room that I had to move to a lower floor, which was a big inconvenience. Wifi was then slightly better (I could at least connect) but was spotty and dropped throughout the evening, and was not even good enough to watch a low quality video. When I went to the bar to get my free member's drink, I was told I could not have a cider even though the Mercure Edinburgh Haymarket was happy to consider cider valid. I asked for wine instead and was poured a 75ml glass of wine instead of a 175ml glass, and when I questioned it, it was suggested that maybe I was misjudging the amount because the glass is just big. Eventually this was corrected after much discussion and the barkeeper resorting to measuring the amount. I don't feel this was an experience congruent with the quality I have otherwise experienced from other Mercure hotels.

« Lovely staff except for one waitress »

Positives : Great being able to park next to the Hotel entrance in a city. Ideal location for my business meeting and shops for my wife. Reception staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast meal was very good. Restaurant and bar area was comfortable. One waitress called Rose seemed very hard working and was very kind and helpful. Negative: one young waitress ( I didn’t get her name ) was very short when I apparently stood on the wrong side of the bar for service, no one else was being served anyway, however I was immediately rescued by a kindly waiter. The breakfast coffee was undrinkable. The Hotel has a very tired feeling of 1990s corporate style, some settees were torn.

« Was disappointed »

Checked in got to our room. Left our luggage and went out for food drinks and a concert. Got back late and went straight to bed. When getting up in the morning to have a shower found hair in the bathtub and after cleaning it up and having a shower we realised there was only 1 bath towel. Was too late to ring reception as we needed to leave and there was no time to wait for another. We checked out and got on our way.

staff amazing! Comfy pillows. Great location Given double beds instead of single as booked.. blood on sheets. Fresh blood not washed and stained blood. Gabi from reception has the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. 20£ for parking a little extortionate. views from the restaurant were lovely.

When checking in the two independent guests checking out before us described the hotel as tired but functional. I guess that sums it up ok. The toilets on floor two were dirty, thankfully I only used them when checking in. The room was fine. The staff were friendly. I had requested a quiet room which they arranged, having previously stayed in the noisy Ibis opposite. Saturday night there was a domestic which compromised our sleep on two occasions. A call to reception and the matters were brought back under control pretty quickly. When checking out we were not asked about our stay. Great location, nice staff, hotel need a little TLC

« Never stay again »

As a platinum member of the group I request an upgrade for my room and for the second time the hotel didn’t upgrade for the room I request even if I had a confirmation email stating that. That’s the second time that happen and after 3 years staying here me and all my company will never stay at Mercure again.
