Had stayed before last year and there was no problems then, booked again this year & was not impressed at all with the hotel. Went down for tea at 7.00pm ordered a drink at the bar then ventured into the restaurant, ordered main meal which took 40-50 mins to come then another 10-15 mins to clear plates. we asked for another drink and the dessert menu which never came after 10-15 mins. we went to the bar asked again which then came we ordered the desserts and another 40-50 mins passed with out seeing the puddings. by 9.20pm we had enough and walked out of the restaurant and complained at the bar, we were not charged for desserts but the whole experience was shocking. the following morning we got up for breakfast at 6.45 and no hot food was on display, cereal & toast was available. but the toast didnt have any butter or jam. my colleague got up with several other guests and proceeded to the kitchen but were shocked to see such filth & dirt led around we then decided to skip breakfast and not to eat there again.

Hotel in beautiful location with Friendly helpful staff. The room was very disappointing for the price It was small and definitely needs refurbishing mainly the bathroom. The next day we stayed in Leeds in another Accor hotel, and for the same price the room was luxurious . Price should reflect quality of the room

« Needs a makeover - Too hot »

Whilst my request for a bath was granted (thank you as not many hotels do this) I was greeted to a room that need a major refurb. The whole place was too hot. I managed to get the window and fan open but it was the bathroom radiator that was on full heat and I was unable to turn it off, which resulted in me not using the bath/shower on the fear that I would faint with the heat. The bath wasn't exactly pleasant either with mould around the edges and a bad case of limescale build up. The pillows for me were far too firm and resulted in little sleep. The whole place just needs a bit of TLC - only good thing was the food ,but I did only have a panini and you can't exactly go wrong with that.

Basic but very friendly staff. The shower drain was partially blocked which I reported and it was dealt with. I found the dinner over greasy but the breakfast was good. I had phoned because I could not find the link to check in on the app or web and was told they could not help but I should ask at reception but they could not help either so still don’t know the answer

I booked this hotel for its convenience as was attending an event close by. Check in was quick, although I can’t remember the lady’s name on the desk she answered her phone whilst I was waiting and explained it was her son trying to speak with her (working in the hospitality industry myself this is definitely not professional and would be mortified if I had found out my staff were using mobiles on the front desk infront of guests). I entered my room and everything was clean and had everything I needed, although I needed to chill some bottles of water and was surprised that there was no fridge in the room? Would have also like to have had a plug beside my bed so I could charge my phone but this wasn’t a major issue just not convenient. Check-out was quick even with the woman on the desk training the new starter. Would I book again? Probably, as was the only option in wetherby, although if there was more choice I’d probably book a different hotel.

The staff and food were great we really enjoyed our meals. The room was comfortable however, the en suite was in serious need of a deep clean. Black mould and scum had built up over years in the most obvious places and toilet was a poor flush.

« Lovely staff but very dated and heavily used, in desperate need of a refurb. »

The staff were very friendly and helpful, couldn’t fault them at all whatsoever. However the hotel room itself was very disappointing. It was dated and looked VERY heavily used. Every inch of the room was practically battered with marks on every bit of furniture. The bathroom was ancient, the tiles were botched and dangerous and the shower was manky. Wouldn’t stop there again which is a shame for the staff as they were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was satisfactory.

« Room was not as we had asked for »

The room that we asked for and was confirmed by email from reservations had a bath not a shower cubical as requested. We were told that the hotel was fully booked but when we said about the room the receptionist looked on her computer and said "oh yes its on here but nobody has taken any notice of it" the manager found us an accessibility room which was in a terrible state, wallpaper around the window torn off, shower cubical surround was broken & buckled, toilet paper holder not fixed to the wall, assisted rails around the toilet were not fixed to the wall properly, no shower gel replacement for the second night until we complained. The general appearance of the room was well below the normal standard of a Mercure hotel, very disappointed
