First room given was very dirty, wall by bed was covered in stains, bathroom was disgusting sick all around the taps. I wondered when I went to the room around 6.30 pm at the large window was fully open. I think to try to disguise smell of sick. I asked to be moved and I was. The room was a clean but furniture chipped in lots of places. The rest of the hotel is tired and has a smell. I stay in Mecure in England and have experienced such poor grade hotel like this

We wanted stay in a place not in the city of Edinburgh so we chose your establishment. Although the hotel is old and tired it was very comfortable, however we would have liked to see a small fridge in the rooms so that customers are able to have real milk and soft drinks kept cold. The restaurant was lovely and the food was divine - your staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcomed.

Good local hotel for the family. Centrally located. Loved the breakfast in the morning. Rooms are a bit tired with need for updated carpets. We were excited about a relaxing evening in the pool, but found it too small to fully enjoy.

This is a reasonable hotel that is rather worn and run down in parts, decor-wise. The linens were a little 'tired' and one of our towels had a clear hole in it. The quality and choice of breakfast was pretty good in the main; but the healthy and continental selections were disappointing. Breakfast finishes at 09:30 on a week day and by 9am on the day we were there, the supplies were running pretty low. I appreciate It's a fine and difficult balance for hotels to speculatively cater for any straggling guests fancy as well as being mindful about food waste. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We had a difficulty with the room rate that had ultimately been charged and the young lady at reception was fairly robust about the position, but listened to us and was helpful. They gym climate control / air con needs adjusting: the gym is immediately adjacent to the pool which of course is kept as a warm environment. The gym as a result seems to get stiflingly hot and committed gym users working to a schedule/target time don't welcome having to interrupt workout mid-run / whatever to go all the way back to reception to ask for adjustment to be made. Overall a reasonable place to stay but we were charged 106, reduced to £95 which I would say was a little over-priced all considered.

While this hotel provides a place to eat and sleep, there is nothing other than a business need that would make me want to come back to this hotel. Why do I say this? While the staff are pleasant and professional most of the time, I don't consider it particularly professional when a member of staff sees you waiting to be checked in for breakfast looks directly at you, makes eye contact, and then continues walking in another direction without acknowledging you with even a simple "I will be with you in a moment". On another occasion there wasn't a member of staff in the breakfast room for many minutes leading to a queue of people waiting to be checked in for breakfast, when mentioned the reason of "there was a coach tour in this morning" didn't really excuse the service (As a hotel that clearly has a large number of coach tours using your facilities, and the fact that this was breakfast so you were aware that you had all these guests, suggests you should be able to cope better than this) Finally, the wallpaper in the room is peeling away at the seams, the lights are noisy when switched on, and there is no lift or offer of assistance with luggage all leave a lot to be desired.

Check-in very good, room was pretty dated, large black hairs in sink and bathroom, shower - fixed head and old. Bar area clean and well managed late evening. It doesn't really represent good value for money but for me it's well situated for work so could book better value and better quality hotel but would mean more travelling to and from work.

The communual spaces are fine in the hotel but the bedrooms are dated, I have been staying in this hotel on and off for the last 18 years and the bedrooms are still the same. Room smelt musty, carpet not good, pillows only one type. Staff are excellent.

Receptionist was really friendly but that was about it really. Quite dated rooms, No eggs at breakfast, ran out by 7:15am. There is an Asda over the road, someone should of gone there for a temporary run of eggs Gym is dated and lacking any investments and generally food is a bit bleughhhh Won’t be returning in a hurry
