Check in was slow and no acknowledgement of Accor membership status - no upgrade or at least no reference to any possibility - had to request membership benefits - had to follow up on membership points being activated

« INTRIGUING HOTEL »

Mercure Perth was quite different. It was an old mill and had a mill in reception with water running fast underneath the reception area and bar. Very handy to the main city, shops and bars. Rooms very pleasant (no lift) and staff very friendly. I would recommend this as a central Perth city hotel.

Warm welcome, pleasant restaurant staff and a good breakfast. Check out was slightly different experience - non engagement of receptionist e.g. there was no “did you enjoy your, hope to see you again, safe journey etc.”

« Hotel needs a Refurbish »

Staff were pleasant though a bit untidy at reception. The rooms are very tired with chipped and damaged furniture. The bed was clean and very comfy. Disappointed the bar did not stock Tia Maria. Breakfast restaurant staff were exceptionaly pleasant and helpful the breakfast itself was tasty enough but lacked imagination.

« Hotel and room a very good standard. »

This was a return trip and we had an evening meal for first time which was enjoyable. A bit disappointed with early morning noise which I can only assume staff. My wife is a vegetarian and although managing to pull together a breakfast was disappointed that there were no vegetarian sausages or other options. This was highlighted by a stay at a Travelodge recently who provided a wider range at a more economic room rate.

« Pleasant relaxing stay. »

We only stayed one night but were very happy with accommodation, staff and location. If we had any complaints it would be that the steaks we had at dinner were very tough and grissely. We did mention this to the waitress who said she would tell the chef, nothing else was done about it.

We had a nice couple of evenings at your hotel. I would give a special mention to Sandy the barman. We had returned from a wedding and played a few songs in the bar afterwards. He was very welcoming and we had a very memorable night thanks to him serving us until the early hours. Thanks!

« Comfortable stay »

Stayed one night whilst attending an event in the Perth area. Room was clean and sufficient for what we required. Upon arrival we were allocated our room and were surprised to find door ajar, lights on and bathroom and bed had been used. Apparently other guests had asked to move room however no check had been undertaken prior to re-allocating to ourselves which was disappointing. Given another room but no bottle of water albeit I didn't bother to go back and ask for it!

« One very Tired Hotel »

We booked this hotel on the back of our local Mercure Hotel at Ardoe having extremely high standards and thus assumed Perth would be the same. It was tired, dark, damp and in need of a complete overhaul and a very large skip. The room was minimal with old scratched furniture, the bathroom was damp smelling. The only plus was the king bed which was as it should be. The public rooms are have wiring on show and not in keeping with the age of the old mill. The only plus is the location. When we arrived at breakfast we were met by a young lady who told us we had already had breakfast and our room number had been marked off. Eh no we haven't and there seemed to be a communication problem there. Clearly someone had marked off the wrong room. Breakfast was buffet style and most of the dishes were empty thus having to wait for them to be replenished. Perhaps if someone had been overseeing there wouldn't have been a queue for eggs and beans!! Sorry Mercure Perth not a happy experience.

« Good location disappointing room »

The location of hotel was great. Breakfast was fine. We booked in and were given a small room. Shortly afterwards we were told that we were in wrong room and were moved upstairs ‘to a bigger room.’ Being moved didnt bother us but the room was exact same size as the one below. It wasnt bigger. It had only one bedside table and a gap where the other one should be. The bath was very badly stained and the decor in general look tired. Have stayed in mercure hotels before and they were fine but the room in this one was disappointing. Next time i am in perth I would try elsewhere.

« Great location close to all local amenities. »

Had a lovely 2 night stay. Room was small but nice and clean with comfortable bed. No hairdryer which was a first for me in a hotel. Very limited choice at breakfast which was a disappointment with no choice rather than fried breakfast other than a very small croissant, opted for toast & jam both days! Dinner had very limited choice on itison deal and due to not being impressed by the fish and chips, with the fish looking like a big fish finger, choose to eat out of the hotel on the second night. The hotel was very expensive for drinks and food which meant they were not competitive with the large pubs which are only minutes away. I would return to the hotel again due mainly to the location which was superb.

« Nice staff but very old facility »

The staff was amazing but the hotel can use an upgrade. The loud creaky floors woke me up in the morning from the guests on top. The room was very very old. I expect a newer look from a Mercure hotel.

My wife and I were very satisfied. One observation, however, at breakfast the provision of cooked food was slow and I prefer honey in sachets not loose.
