« Forth year of staying at Christmas time and still happy »

Having booked the easy access room for my Mum, this had been booked on line through the website/call centre. An alternative, more expensive room was available but not with an easy access shower. It appears that there needs to be some improvements made internally with the booking method so this type of problem does not occur again. It is not always a call centre who know of your precise requirements.

We stayed on the New Year package and the whole experience was lovely. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant staff were extremely efficient and Julie in particular made us feel very welcome. The entertain was very enjoyable especially the band on the last night with the scottish dancing.

The suite itself was very comfortable and quiet. The bed was especially comfortable and I got an excellent night's sleep. The bathroom is exceptionally tired and needs updating. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

I booked this hotel because I was attending a wedding there. I booked a double room and got two single beds. The room smelled of damp and the sink blocked the first time I used it. We reported the sink and it was cleared. But overall it was disappointing

Reception very welcoming and friendly. Bedroom fine - large screen t v and king-size bed as requested. Attending wedding in hotel - which was very well run - back to room after midnight - first niggle we found there was no milk or coffee - desperate for a coffee had to go and search for someone to replenish stocks - dealt with efficiently. Next niggle lack of towels - only one bath towel and one hand towel - as we had upgraded our room felt a bit disappointed at lack of attention to detail. Apart from that overall experience was good.

The original room we were allocated was very small and not of an acceptable standard tiles in the bathroom, very tired furniture. I asked to be moved to another room. We were given an apology and moved to a better room. This I have to say was not much better , rust running down hinges on bathroom door. Furniture damaged in places, curtains in both rooms looked dirty and well worn. Staff helpful. Buffet breakfast is the worst I have ever seen. Fresh fruit all dried up, hot food very little choice, slow to replenish items. Evening meal was very good , well cooked and presented nicely. We have stayed in this hotel a couple of times, last time 3 years ago. On this occasion I had booked a few rooms and asked to see our allocated rooms prior to our guests arriving. Again we were allocated substandard rooms but managed to have them upgraded prior to our friends arriving. During the stay 3 years ago we were informed that the hotel was being upgraded we believed what we had been told!!.

« Ok, but room noisy and a little run down »

I’m from Perth and know the hotel from previous years - it was a Stakkis for some years and one of the better hotels in the town. I therefore booked assuming a better than average hotel.. Sadly it seems the rooms haven’t been refreshed in some time or at least ours hadn’t and it was pretty tired. A large gap under the door and noise outside in the hall meant it wasn’t the most peaceful of stays...

Excellent location very friendly and helpful staff and great value. The rooms and facilities are dated and would benefit with being upgraded and modernised, however our room was spotless and overall this didn’t detract from our stay.

The noise, the windows are single glazed, there was a disco in the hotel which finished at 11Pm but the noise lasted till 12.30 !!! The bathroom tiles were painted and the paint was peeling off !!!!! No hair drier in the room !

« Great night away! »

This is the 3rd time staying here and we have never been disappointed. The hotel is in a great area, our room was ready on arrival and the staff are polite and friendly. The bed is comfortable and the temperature in the room was fine. There was no hairdryer in the room so I asked at reception and they gave me one right away. The breakfast was delicious and hot. The only reason I didn’t give it 10/10 was for the shower which wasn’t very powerful.

« Below expectations »

Having selected a “superior” room, I expected something a little better. Bathroom very tired, the coffee machine which I had would be a nice little extra proved useless as there were no decaffinated capsules, none at reception, no one seemed to care! Water & biscuits in room there on arrival, not replaced following day, one water on third day. No restaurant. Breakfast good.
