« Our stay at Mercure Kooindah Waters Central Coast »

A great place to stay. We were treated so well and we were privelidged to be upgraded to a de-luxe room. Michelle at check-in was so courteous and obliging. Our room was so clean and all other Staff were so courteous and meals were fantastic. We will definitely return.

« Usually fantastic with the exception of one front desk staff. »

Marsha, Maureen and Michelle - the 3 M’s, are absolutely fantastic at reception and what they do :) So is Belinda their manager who goes above and beyond! Their is one receptionist that, after staying there for the past 6 years (over 250+ stays for family or business trips) - I have never found friendly or accommodating. More than often borderline rude. Rarely greets me and sometimes upon checkout just grabs my keys and says “bye.” Always has this “cold” look on her face. This lady, more than often, presents with a grumpy face at check in and check out. After being a gold and platinum member for a while, this staff is, without a doubt, the worst I’ve encountered in all the hotels I’ve ever stayed. I rarely like to leave negative feedback, and this is the first time I’ve spoken about this person, as one negative person should not reflect the brilliance and warmth that I have always received from this place I call my second home. However, I had a recent experience at check in where I have stayed many times here, that this person rudely demanded the Company’s credit card file. I wasn’t even sure if she had greeted me but just said “I’ll need you company credit card to update.” I wouldn’t mind if it was polite and warm, but this was not even close to that. Before I could even reply, Phillip (who is absolutely amazing and the warmest bar staff ) happened to be standing behind the reception counter even though he works in the restaurant) was next to this person and commented “he’s always here we should already have that.” I politely told this person “yes, could you please check that.” This person kept silent and put on a grumpy face. Again, all my google reviews and feedback for hotels and other services have more than often been positive reviews. This is because I work in retail and I get that words and events can get severely misconstrued by customers and often their word gets the upper hand over the the staff involved. However, this person’s service has been to a point where it is almost unbearable and rude. Sounds horrible - but she should learn from the likes of Marsha/Michelle/Maureen/Phillip/Karen/Leigh/Belinda/Daniel/Lachlan/Cheryl and all the rest of the staff that continues to make this place a FANTASTIC second home. Regards, Louis

« Our stay was everything we wanted. »

We needed pet friendly overnight accommodation and found Mecure Koorindah Waters as a good half way stopping point on our trip to the Sunshine Coast. Mecurer Koorindah Waters welcomed us and our 2 little dogs, and our ground level apartment was affordable, thoughtfully set up and decorated, and absolutely perfect. The floors were tiled, a nice big, clean doggy bed and food bowls were provided and we had easy access to the beautiful resort gardens to walk our furry friends. We relaxed, opened a bottle of wine and ordered a lovely meal through room service so we didn't have to leave the dogs alone. Thank you, we and our doggies loved our stay with you, Monica.

« Great room and service. Great location »

Because I was in a room close the lifts, there was a clacking sound that went of very frequently. I am not sure if it was in the door our outside. I am a light sleeper so it did keep me awake.

« overnight stay »

The accommodation was very nice. But we didn't enjoy the restaurant! The garlic bread was filled with lots of whole cloves of garlic, way over the top! The $45 steak was very tough and sinewy, and the chips were not very nice also. We had to walk to the bar each time for a glass of wine, we have never experienced that before, usually the waiter keeps an eye out and asks us if we would like more. Also we were NOT notified that there is a surcharge for WFi. We wont be recommending this restaurant to our friends.

« Comfortable, clean and close to my destination in Wyong »

Staff were pleasant and welcoming, room was clean and comfortable. Pay for internet access was disappointing as all hotels I stay at include free wifi. Missed breakfast because there was a golf group in the adjoining room and all serving staff were preoccupied with them. I sat down in the restaurant, there were no staff there to serve me, waited for a little while, one of the service staff walked right past me but didn't ask to take my order so I left to get breakfast elsewhere.

« comfortable accommodation not too far from Wyong station »

Room was fine, clean and roomy. The breakfast was reasonable, hot food not very hot. Nice cup of coffee. Our evening meal was fine, the staff were very pleasant although rather rushed. Liked the linen napkins.

« A non golfing trip »

Enjoyed watching from the balcony with a glass in my hand the golfers hitting balls into the water. Probably the restaurant staff were overwhelmed by a couple of large tables ordering at same time, so service somewhat slow. Otherwise all good. Next visit I will bring my clubs. Highly recommended.

« I would recommend people to stay, but not to eat at Kooindah Waters. The service in the restaurant was bad and you need to get a professional chef to teach people how to run a restaurant. Gordon Ramsay might be a good start. »

Accommodation was good Restaurant service not good. Meals were small, we were not told that we had to order sides with the mains. We were ask if we wanted wine and we said no, but the wine glasses were left on the table which made less room for the plates. We finished our main meal and no body came over to see if we want desert or coffee. My wife went to the bar and ordered the coffee. As a person who has stayed in a number of Novotel motels in Australia and overseas, this will be very low on my list to recommend to other people.

« EXCELLENT...ALWAYS EXCELLENT »

FROM FRONT OF HOUSE, TO CLEANING, TO DINING, BOTH IN THE RESTAURANT AND IN MY ROOM ALL STAFF ARE A JOY TO DEAL WITH. NOTHING IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE AND NO JOB IS TOO HARD.

Had the most relaxing stay, use of the lap pool was an added bonus. Staff were approachable and friendly. Food was great too.

« Slightly underwhelmed »

For a resort; and regardless it was a one-night stay, I must say I was slightly underwhelmed with the overall experience. Upon returning from dinner at Doyalson, I wanted to go to the bar and sit by the fire for a couple of drinks with my friend. Arriving at the bar area around 11pm, we were informed it was closed and we couldn't even sit by the fire. Also, reception need to acknowledge guests when they enter the foyer area and pass through. This didn't occur until I initiated the pleasantry, saying hello and wishing the staff member a good night. Upon using the bath in my room, I could see the inside under rim of the toilet bowl which was black with mould. It's evident that the areas not in immediate view don't get the cleaning treatment that they need. The room was comfortable, but the block out curtains didn't join in the middle (by about 5 inches) leaving us exposed to the external light and vehicle lights spilling into the room for the entire night. It's just a few small things, but it detracts from the overall experience. Really, you need to have a lounge/bar area that is open until at least midnight, regardless the number of guests using the area. We chose this hotel because it had a fire in the lounge area. To be told we couldn't sit in there or order a drink at 11pm at night is very poor and would definitely influence my decision to go elsewhere next stay.

« Average stay »

Rooms starting to look very tired, dinner service in restaurant both nights very average (food was mostly very good).

« Friendly, accommodating staff made my couple of 'hiccup's' stress free. »

My check in was more difficult, as somehow my booking was made in my first & middle names, instead of my surname - but a determined and friendly staff member worked through it. On check out - my bill had been overcharged / double charged, from the bar. Due to the helpful staff member on check out, it was sorted quickly, she rang and followed up and emailed my invoice immediately. A happy customer!
