Good hotel but to far from centre Good facilities in the area of the railway station. Ideal for railway station. 30 minutes walk to centre ok when dry, but taxi if wet. public station car parking nearby at £12.50 24hours Saturday and Sunday

The room was great but the restaurant as you walked in had a horrible smell so we did not stay for a late night drink. Otherwise I was impressed with the location and how clean it was.

« Better than expected after initial difficulty »

We are not used to not having a reception desk .staff performed very well. Main grouch was with the shower room, very small towels and not any space to put wash bag etc. Apart from that stay was very nice and the breakfast was excellent.

Our 8th stay and as always no issues, nice touch by staff leaving Chocs in our room for our anniversary. One thing, more staff needed in chill out lounge ground floor, they are rushed off there feet and due to numbers of customers service can be slow, not the staffs fault, they cope best they can

I enjoyed my stay & staff was very friendly. However, I thought the rooms were really pricey for Ibis. The room wasn’t super clean (hair on bathroom floor) and the toilet leaked.

« Many good features but one show stopper »

Many good features and services but one show stopper for me: no refrigerator in the room and no ice machine available to the guests. I have medication that is best to keep refrigerated. While the staff would provide ice it was a cumbersome process and they never did give me enough even when I asked specifically for at least 3/4 full bucket of ice they returned with less than 1/2 full bucket of ice (after waiting about 10 minutes). It wasn't worth going through the process again. I know mosts guests don't need it and it's a significant overhead for you. But I am a guest who does need it so I will always be staying in the Tamburlaine instead whenever possible and will only be staying in the Ibis if I can't get in to the Tamburlaine. Otherwise I like the convenience of the coffee shop / pizzeria / pub downstairs with late hours, the proximity to the train station and the taxi stand, the shop across the way and a few restaurants to choose from. I liked the breakfast. The staff was friendly. The air conditioning was superior and much appreciated. The second negative: no washcloth. Most international hotels at your level provide a washcloth for guests. All the others I stay at in the UK do. I would prefer not to have to pack my own. It's inconvenient to have to remember that I need one for this trip (and nowhere else I travel in the rest of the world on any other of my many business trips), but it is especially inconvenient at the end of the trip to have to pack a wet washcloth to take home with me without having it make a mess of my luggage and belongings. At the Ibis, I just can't wash my back or properly wash my face.

My only complaint is that when I tried to check in online, it kept trying to charge me about £60 more than it should have done. My flight was delayed and so my daughter arrived at the hotel before me. They wanted her to pay for the room but she didn’t have enough money. They did sort it out in the end but it caused a bit of stress for my daughter. The staff did try to be very helpful.

« Everything you need for a short stay. »

Everything about the stay was as expected. Only small issues were that the air conditioning in one of the rooms kept coming back on despite being turned off (possibly user error) and there was an extra bed in both room when it was only required in one of the rooms. Other than that the breakfast was good with lots of choice, the beds were comfy and shower was powerful.

very efficient check in / room ready early / all very comfortable. special mention for Chloe - we told her we were in Cambridge for the folk festival. next day, in the room, they had put the line-up for the festival in a lovely folder with a card wishing us a great time. how thoughtful. breakfast good and good value for money. breakfast room very stylish.

Very comfortable. Rooms always very clean. Breakfast, buffet , lots to choose from. Lovely view from breakfast room. Watching the hustle and bustle of the Station, shops and mobile food vans. Very good location for the hotel, near to bus stops taking you to the city centre , tours of Cambridge and Addenbrookes Hospital. Station nearby. My stay was brilliant. Reception staff always welcoming, kind and knowledgeable.

« Great location, very clean room, nice staff. »

This was my first stay at an IBIS hotel and certainly won't be my last. The hotel was very convenient for station and didn't take long to walk to the centre. I stayed by myself but felt very comfortable there. Had one breakfast which was nice. Would have preferred it if the outside area could be used to 22.30 as felt 21.30 was a bit early when it was a nice warm evening.
