From check in to leaving, the whole stay was good. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast choice good, and car parking useful. And all the staff were friendly and helpful.

It was terrible. Bed was hard. Walls were paper thin, Only catered for 1 person although it was a double room, No hot option for breakfast. Not worth the money

The reception staff we good. Services provided in the room was less than satisfactory. The sofa bed was bigger that the space provide for it and even moving it blocked access for movement and to the toilet. No cooked Breakfast. That was a disappointment also.

Overall a satisfactory stay. The staff were friendly. Our room was comfortable, but a little small and the bathroom needed some maintenance. The room was at the rear of the building above The Hagley function suite. Clearly there was a function on, as late afternoon the sound system was cranked up to a disturbing level. Thankfully we were out for the evening and by the time we returned the event had finished. Breakfast was good overall, my only criticism would be that the 'juice' was very poor, tasting more like fruit squash.

In comparison to other hotels in Hagley road, the Ibis was clean and friendly, the breakfast was also welcomed. The only down side the rooms were a little warm.

Rooms very scruffy, my husband got into bed around midnight and when he pulled the covers back there was an awful smell (sickness stench). It was too late to change our room but we had to open all the windows. In hindsight we should have changed our room.

Excellent Continental style buffet breakfast. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on both nights I was there. That was the only inconvenience suffered. Very happy with everything else. There are alternative places to eat within reasonable walking distance.

« A very pleasant and perfectly adequate visit »

I was visiting Birmingham to attend medical appointments at QE2 and see family at a difficult time for them. All staff, from Danny at reception and his other colleagues to the ladies in the breakfast dining area were exceptionally friendly and helpful. My original room was unsuitable as it stank of cigarette smoke but Danny had no issue finding me a new one. The room 116 ,was a little smaller and darker but serviceable. The bathroom had a damp odour but everything was spotlessfy clean. The bed was fantastically comfortable and there was an extra pillow if needed. Excellent proper hairdryer. So important for us ladies. Not getting repetitive strain holding down a button. Lots of TV channels. And tea/coffee facilities. I absolutely loved the breakfast buffet experience. Plenty of quality food on display and lots of it. Brilliant taxi concierge service and lots of handy parking. The communal bar lounge areas are very attractive with A bustling bar in the evenings with games and snacks. As I was on my own and in quite a bit of discomfort I didn't avail of the evening bar, but it seemed welcoming and safe for a single lass to join in. The only thing I would say, is that on the inside of the bedroom doors, there should be a sign saying please be respectful to other sleeping guests when slamming doors early in the morning on departure! The walls are very thin. Nothing more devastating then being woken up before you have to be and not being able to go back to sleep. It's Vexing. It happened both mornings! But overall my stay with IBIS Styles on the Hagley Road was most pleasant and satisfactory. I'm back and forward to Birmingham and I may just book in again! Thank you to the staff!

We didn’t sleep as there was too much noise , the reception failed to inform us about breakfast so I had to go ask , the bar was unattended and we had to wait for long time to order a drink
