« Comfortable night at a good price »

Our room was clean, basic and comfortable, but there was a smell of drains in the corridor which was quite unpleasant. We've stayed at the Ibis Styles before and on our previous visit we had a cooked breakfast included; this, disappointingly, was no longer available.

Staff always attentive and friendly ,buffet style breakfast always fresh and replenished regularly feels comfortable and never hurried when staying at the ibis styles.....this visit we were visiting the shard and westminster but links into the city from the ibis are so frequent it was cost effective to get a 2 day oyster card and use ibis as a base to anywhere in the city ....

Breakfast was great, there was a lot of options! Room was clean and bed was super comfy. The bathroom curtain was kinda annoying, because it was short and water would splash everywhere..could something be done to that? Overall we had a splendid stay!

Room was clean and comfortable, but the shower was not ideal just a tray on floor and a curtain around. Water escaped under curtain and outside tray, so floor got quite wet. Also breakfast area, furniture was like a works canteen.

Nice clean room , bathroom very small but functionable, tea and coffee making facilities available as were 2 bottles of water complimentary , breakfast was good with a good selection, all the staff were very helpful and friendly

« Very unhelpful and ripoff hotel »

I requested when I made booking that I would like late checkout because my daughter has exams and would like to vacate at 2 pm I was told no can not check out late as cleaners leave at 2 pm and no one would be available to clean rooms. Plus they charge 10 pounds an hour for any extended time . Typical budget hotel with horrible breakfast. All processed food.

« Not suitable for business »

- The room was small, but clean. Bathroom was too small and with a blocked shower plughole, which I needed to "clean" in order to avoid it to overflow. Due of time constrains for meetings to attend, I didn't lose time to complain at the reception. - The internet is atrocious and impossible to work. This hotel should have never been showed as an option for business travellers, it affected my productivity since I needed to organise my business trips for the coming weeks. - Won't stay at this hotel again.

The bedroom was good, spacious, comfortable and quiet. The adjoining pub and restaurant was also pleasant, however I object to the policy of conning the customers by adding a 12.5% service charge to the bill, without informing me beforehand. I enjoyed the meal and would have eaten there again during my stay but decided not to because of the extra charge. I did in fact find where they were informing customers about the surcharge. It was written at the very bottom of the menu but in the smallest possible font size. So small that you almost needed a magnifying glass to read it. When I spoke to the manager about this, he tried to shift the blame onto the hard working bar staff. I did not have a problem with them, as they were all excellent. I suggested that this is a managerial policy, which should be reviewed as soon as possible.

« Disappointing »

I was extremely disappointed , stayed 2 nights room was never cleaned waste not collected , bathroom not checked for amnesties. A few lights were not working & when reported to the GM was not even offered a verbal apology . Breakfast again is very disappointing , one kind of cheese , cold cuts looks dark as if they are expired or old. Pastries were not always fresh , juices too of a very poor quality . Could not even order eggs even for a fee .

« Good hotel close to Excel »

The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast did not have much choices. Would be good to include at least egg and bacon. The reason i am not fully satisfied with the stay is that i got tricked by the man working at the reception when i arrived. I asked if there were any pubs/restaurants closeby and he said ”no only the pub at the hotel”. But the day after i discovered a lot of restaurants close to Excel. It is not alright at all to trick your guests and think that we would not notice.

« our experience was generally satisfactory. »

The room,was clean and tidy,and the shower was very spacy. We were allowed to change rooms,because the shower,in our original room,was incredible tight not good. We were disappointed that ,from our last visit in December,you no longer do a cooked breakfast, and had to make do with toast. Having the pub next door is always a good experience,as they do excellent food. So in general we enjoyed our stay.
