One of the most disappointing stays. No air condition, no usual loyalty treatment - drinks voucher (for example), super ordinary breakfast, very basic room - nothing that is good or average

We went for this hotel due to location and cost, we weren't expecting too much and happy with room etc. We paid for breakfast and to get down there at 930am and find there were no sausages or bacon was a major disappointment. We were told they were coming but, after waiting 20 minutes we gave up and left.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable, the staff extremely attentive and the breakfast a much wider offering than we had expected. The location was ideal for the Excel Conference Centre and for easy access to the DLR. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel in the future.

Room small. Bed small. Not really queen size. No socket outlets by bedside. Bathroom small. Showers door could not be opened fully because bathroom so small. Functional rather than comfortable. Selected because of the proximity to ExCel centre.

I like the proximity to the underground and the excel conference centre. However I am unhappy about the absence of porridge for breakfast . Also I have weak hands and found it almost impossible to press the hard plastic liquid soap container in the bathroom. Perhaps a small soap bar should be available on request. The room felt a bit dusty. There is no phone in the room. They advise that guests WhatsApp them. The WiFi is unreliable.

« Lovely hotel except no bath (but great shower!) »

Breakfast was a nice surprise - booking confirmation said continental, so getting the full English was good! Would prefer bath to shower, and room probably has the space, but the shower was very good, spacious and powerful, and the 'wet room' aspect was good (no worrying about splashing the floor!) Free bottle of water was good but would be better if chilled, and fridge in room would be nice, but rarely found in such cheap hotels. In general, better than expected for this price, especially in London, mainly due to good shower and nice breakfast.

Certainly a handy location as an exhibitor at Excel. As a budget hotel, I do not have high expectations so in that case, the stay was very satisfactory. But one thing I can not accept any type of budget is hygiene and smell. The room I stayed (room 9) had a bad odor which made me feel very uncomfortable.

« Generally very good but some irritations »

The room and breakfast were both very good. However: The wifi in the room worked only sporadically, which was annoying. The room safe had been left closed, which was not a problem for us that night as we arrived very late and were not going out - we reported it on check-out. The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the free silver member welcome drink. Instead of the usual voucher redeemable at the bar we were offered two mini bottles of extremely ordinary red wine. Suggest you don’t offer this to your loyalty members in future as it will only disappoint them.
