« Very friendly hotel in a great part of town »

The staff are very helpful and friendly. Only 2 complaints. They said that there was not a view of the town, but in fact we were not able to see out of the window at all as it had a blind and looked onto a wall, which after 3 days became very depressing. We thought that although the breakfast was nice, it was not worth the AUD30 charge.

Housekeeping was tardy, leaving empty bottles around and duty manager (night of 9/11/19) had the audacity to insinuate that I left the 'do not disturb' sign on when I was extremely lucid that it was the converse. Was curtly received by reception who claimed that it wasnt possible to upgrade me despite my Platinum status due to full occupancy. This was clearly untrue as I went on the website and checked for availability. I had to remind of the benefits that came with my status and was denied a late check-out at first instance but later granted it. Platinum members are entitled to late check-outs and this is an expectation, not a privilege. Breakfast was mediocre with a unimpressive spread that I had it once and skipped the rest; even though it was complimentary for me. Throughout the stay, I was made to feel as if I had gone into a British Supperclub with staff looking extremely surprised to see an Asian guest. I would suggest watching the movie Crazy Rich Asians and pay particular attention to the first scene. And, acknowledge that Melbourne, being in Australia, is part of Asia Pacific. Perhaps the saving grace were a minority of service staff e.g. Han and Kelly, who were truly sincere and forthcoming. The staff appeared swamped with multiple tasks; giving the impression that the property does not have sufficient manpower. « Lots to improve »

It was nowhere near my expectations. Establishment was under-staffed with personnel multitasking and unable to provide good service to guests. e.g. receptionist was seen pouring drinks and clearing up the mess that housekeeping did not clear after 5pm. Aside from Han and Kelly, other staff were curt and unapproachable and made me feel that an 'Asian' did not belong in a 'British Supperclub' environment. Do watch 'Crazy Rich Asians' (The Movie) and pay attention to the very first scene please. There was no attempt to upgrade me even as a Platinum member and my benefits had to be reminded instead of expected.

Process of checking in was easy, with staff accommodating all our requests promptly. The room was well appointed, and we appreciated the ability to sit comfortably in there. The a la carte breakfast was slightly disappointing, my wife paid $5 for a side of tomato and received one half of a roma tomato - we thought that was pushing the limits of reasonableness.

It wasn't great. When I arrived the lobby was basically empty, there was no vibe about the place at all. At check-in I had to flag someone down, then my room key didn't work so I had to go back down to reception to change it. And then my room window looked directly onto a carpark - when I opened my curtains I met eyes with someone a few metres away who was fumbling with their keys. Awkward. I closed my curtains and blind, which made the room feel quite claustrophobic.

Please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. With the hotel sitting in a heritage building, we are challenged with the view outlooks into neighbouring buildings. On your next visit you may wish to consider booking our beautiful Deluxe Rooms that are all forward facing offering views overlooking Melbourne Park, the Botanic Gardens and the Melbourne Cricket Ground. These rooms are located at the front of hotel with the original windows varying on each level from bay to a large arched style creating character and charm, with ample natural light. The Hotel Lindrum is an excellent venue for staying in central Melbourne while you're on business. Professional and efficient staff, high-quality room and restaurant experience, in a convenient location. wifi down phone was crackling housekeeping lacklustre (wrong amenities given), clothes not folded but left disarray on chair, bedroom slippers not given, toothbrush not replaced recep did not make restaurant booking as requested. went to restaurant without any seats

Someone needs to straighten the floor light and fix the sink plug. Two items anyone should have noticed. Fab reception. Dinner is always very good. Love the small bar and fireplace.

I had the pleasure staying at the hotel for 10 days, in a beautiful room with great nice high ceilings. The breakfast is great, I wasn't able to try the dinner. All the staff is very friendly, welcoming had some great commendations.

Service bit snooty, no one to welcome you at entrance or help with bags up the stairs, no concierge or valet and taxi no easy drop off point. Rooms have ok decor but air con didn't work and the windows didn't open. I was cooked. Will not stay again I'm afraid.
