Great location in the heart of the rocks, 5 minute walk to the opera house and Harbor bridge. Easy to get to from the airport via train. Fantastic service from all staff, Comfortable bed. What more can you ask for.

Enjoyed the intimate boutique style of the hotel. Warm, welcoming staff who went out of their way to ensure our stay was a good one. Loved the styling of room. The restaurant for breakfast and dinner excellent and again staff wonderful. Location fantastic with the Rocks and Sydney at the doorstep.

Arrived and was told I was upgraded due to my Gold Accor status from a standard room to a suite. A colleague had a standard room which was larger than mine, had a larger bathroom and had a 2 seater couch. All of which I didn’t have in my upgraded room so I doubt it was an upgrade at all. Bathroom very small and basic. Drink in the bar only had enough gin for 1 drink. And no more in the hotel. Breakfast very little available for the continental buffet. Not a buffet offering.

This was our 5th stay and we feel that the standards had slipped somewhat. We had to ask for our room tea. coffee and milk to be replenished on more than two occasions. The breakfast service was slow and again the breakfast buffet was not kept topped up. The hot cooked option of the breakfast was only warm at best.

The hotel is gorgeous, has lovely character and the staff are welcoming and helpful. The location is brilliant for getting around the city, so close to The Rocks, Circular Quay and all sorts of attractions. Unfortunately, I was very unsatisfied with my room. I paid a little more for the "superior" room which was not at all up to that standard. Firstly, it was located immediately adjacent to the stairs for circulating up and down to the lobby, right next to the bathrooms for the restaurant/bar and of course, right next to the very noisy bar. The room had little to no sound-proofing so both of my nights' sleep were terribly disturbed. The room is also essentially internal with a french door (you couldn't open) to an internal courtyard - not at all like the superior room pictures shown on the website which are light and open and spacious. The first night I just put up with the disturbance, the second night I asked what could be done to improve the situation and the offer was to shut the restaurant doors at 10pm. I rang concierge at close to 11pm and asked for the doors to be shut. This was done promptly, however just as promptly the doors were opened again and people were coming and going. I again asked for the doors to be shut which again, helpfully they were. Sadly, people still needed to come and go to the bathrooms and up and down the stairs so the night was still terribly disturbed. I was really disappointed. On check out the following day, I discussed this with the lovely staff who were apologetic but since my room had been pre-paid could offer nothing substantial to off-set the terrible amenity of the room. I do think both staff went out of their way to provide an apology - with some free product from the in-house range of toiletries and a coffee - which was really lovely. My feedback to them was not to call that room superior for future reference.

Good experience... Absolutely blighted by a horrendous sounding shower door. The creak that it made almost made me want to not have a shower or to shower with the shower door open lest I move it any more than absolutely necessary. I like this hotel a lot. I like the location in the Rocks. I like the views of the harbour. I appreciate that it's an older hotel and I'm happy to take the stairs. But please put the effort in to refurb the inside of the room to ensure that I don't go to sleep with the sound of metal grinding on a terrible shower door in my head. It's lazy and to be honest disappointing from such a high quality hotel.
