A lovely spot, lots of history to explore. The Ghost Tour was a fun experience. Had dinner in Boiler House before hand. Lovely food, excellent service. The Breakfast was also very filling. Recommend this place to anyone who like history.

« We enjoyed our stay at Q Station. The accommodation was good and added bonus with the history of the Station. »

Our stay was enjoyable. The accommodation was good and the history very detailed and interesting. We enjoyed the Ghost tour we did. The food in the Boilerhouse with the shared meals was a bit unusual. It was a bit hard to get around with the many stairs but the shuttle bus was a good option rather than climbing the many stairs back to our accommodation.

Most things were great, and the location is amazing. The room, the Boilerhouse, movie system were very nice, though there are a few minor points: - the packet of biscuits that accompanied the tea and coffee were already opened - it would be great to move to offering T2 or similar quality tea. Very minor point, but that impression would make an impact to match the quality of your location.

Loved the actual place but did not enjoy the departure. There were not enough transport vans running to take people to reception. It was a VERY wet day so we could not even walk up, waited about 30 minutes out in the cold (under cover from the rain) for a bus/van. The heavy rain was predicted and it was known what time our group was departing, why was this not planned for?

« The stay exceeded expectations and we got to explore places (hiking) that neither of us had done before. »

The experience was terrific and we would highly recommended it to others and we plan to come back. The view (19) was fantastic and we had terrific luck with the weather. We didn't try the restaurants as we had a late lunch in Manly every day and just soaked up the sunsets with cheese and crackers - will definitely try the next time. Not sure about the hygiene in the kitchen for breakfast - my husband had hot food twice and had a bad reaction. I just stuck to cereal or yogurt and toast. Not a big deal, but just thought I would mention it.

« I loved the location, the historic feel of the place and the surrounding area, there were a couple of things that the rooms could do with to make the stay perfect. »

The only elements of the room that need a little looking at are shelf spacing in the bathroom - the sink is very small, there is no where to put a toiletry bag and so my things ended up on the floor. The hairdryers definitely need a refresh - the little white ones are of a standard that I would expect in a motel. Finally the room I was in (41) had black mould in the bathroom high up on the walls. I expect it is as the bathroom fan was very weak and so is not doing the job of clearing the humidity from the showers. Otherwise I did really enjoy my stay. The location is excellent and I love that you have worked hard to maintain the historic feel to the place.

« WONDERFUL »

WE HAD A VERY POOR TV IN ROOM 53... channel 90 had subtitles continuously that could not be removed' we could not get ch 72 etc.etc. The addition of a shelf and rail would make the ensuite more comfortable !!! Also ..the breakfast room was extremely noisy. washing up by thrwing culrtelry and china in the sink'plua loud talking from staff !!

We loved every aspect of our stay and will definitely be back. The restoration of the buildings is wonderful. The integration of the bush surrounds is lovely. The restaurant, bar and cafe were amazing. We loved the merging of history with lovely accommodation and great food, all in such a spectacular setting. But our highest praise is for the staff. I was blown away actually by the enthusiasm all the staff had for q station and it's history, both indigenous and colonial history. From first enquiry through to checking out, every staff member was professional, extremely helpful, positive, engaging and knowledgeable. We were particularly impressed by the sympathetic interaction between hotel staff and npws staff and indigenous rangers.

« Compared to previous stays very disappointing! »

Had to request a move twice due to; a) Distance from dining area rm 101. Person with us had mobility problem b) Extremely uncomfortable beds in Rm26. Putting a blanket under bottom sheet didn’t improve comfort. c) Rm 26 was small with little room for luggage and clothes d) when we were moved to Rm 101 found out that there was a conference across the road! Not told about this! That night they had band and dinner that went till 11 pm. Once dinner was over had to endure noises of people leaving, buses going and clean up noises by staff! At 6:30am next morning clean up or setting up noises that again disturbed our sleep! Overall our stay was, as I said very disappointing. This was our 5th stay at the Q Station and we found the accommodation lacking and attitude of staff, especially front desk who were rather condescending! We booked through Luxury Escapes, there were 2 other couples , other than us and we had told them what a great place the Q Station was! Hopefully my criticisms will help! Paul B.
