« Another relaxing stay was had! »

We always enjoyed our Bunker Bay breaks over the years. The last two years have been an eye opener as we experienced improvements beyond believe. From check-in to check-out and everything in between - just perfect. We experienced real professionalism and REAL friendliness from staff in all departments. One very wonderful improvement is the new chef at the "The other side of the Moon" restaurant. The kitchen now provides such wonderful spiced food as compared to the habit of over-salting everything. « Wonderful hotel with a somewhat confused service model »

A mixed experience. Checkin was somewhat bizarre - there was no-one outside the front of the hotel to meet/greet us when we arrived and parked our car right outside the reception. Despite lugging all the suitcases into the lobby ourselves we still needed to approach the check-in counter before we met anyone who said hello. For a relatively high-end resort that was a bizarre and unwelcoming start - I've never experienced that in any similarly rated resorts before. Checkin receptionist was warm and friendly (I forget her name) but literally the very first comments I received were negative about the web check in process (ie 'doesn't work well for us') - she then struggled to locate our booking at all (the reservation had been saved under my forename vs surname for some reason). Given I had already checked in online and had expected to simply pick up keys on the way to our room this was somewhat disconcerting and added undue stress. That said the receptionist was super warm and friendly as noted and this added some compensation. In addition we had been upgraded to a beautiful suite so that was also a very nice and very appreciated touch. Getting the bags onto the buggy was an interesting experience - in all similar hotels the staff are there to load these up automatically - we were left to move these ourselves / help the concierge who was seemingly performing multiple roles at this point. This was an over-riding theme - ie the hotel appears to be operating quite lean and this impacted the quality and smoothness of the checkin process. The concierge was a lovely guy (Shane) who showed us a personalised map of the area, highlighting places to visit/eat etc. The suite was lovely as mentioned but there was no bottled water - we ended up buying our own. Possibly the worst element of our stay was the shower - it literally took 5 minutes each time to correctly balance the flow of hot and cold water (given the response to each turn of the tap in water temperature was extremely slow). Water pressure was poor too. Some of the fixtures/fittings were a little tired - eg paint/laminate on the bottom of the bathroom door had frayed/decayed somewhat. Living space and bedrooms were wonderful and TVs were good size. Food - breakfast was decent, the one dinner we had was another mixed experience - food was great but we were given the wrong pottle of Pierro wine (cab sauv/merlot vs pinot we had ordered) - given we had already accepted the wine and started to drink it (although we weren't offered a tasting before the pour) we didn't make a fuss but again that was an unusual error. On the flip side, the staff were always warm and friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. We moved tables from outside to indoors when the evening air turned a little chilly (the staff were super helpful and patient with us whilst visibly busy elsewhere), but the fact that there was bird faeces everywhere was a factor as well. One last suggestion - the casual dining menu was a little tired and limited in choice - would strongly recommend updating the menu with more options, the shared plates were relatively dull in options as well (we instead went for the chicken gnocchi and beef rib which were both delicious). Overall enjoyed the resort and would consider a return given (at the moment) other alternatives in this category are (seemingly) not readily available.

« Beautiful beach and surrounds »

Wonderful except for a couple of things , The outside area where we had breakfast each day needed a good clean and sweep . Our room needed vacuuming because the trees were dropping little flowers and they kept coming in on our feet from the outside seating area . Also we had to leave a note after a couple of days for empty bottles to be removed from our room. Overall though we had a fantastic time , the grounds and beach were beautiful , breakfast was excellent ,staff very friendly and helpful especially Shane who went out of his way to mark on a map places of interest for us . We were also very grateful to receive anniversary cards , a bottle of wine and petit fours for our 40 th anniversary! Very nice !We were also very lucky to be upgraded to a two bedroom Villa ( and even had our room changed when we were unhappy with the first one ) Thank you for a very happy and memorable holiday and we will definitely recommend your resort !

I had a wonderful time at this hotel, it was a beautiful place, staff were friendly and the resort is just amazing. it has it's own private beach and the breakfast and lounge areas have stunning views of the Indian ocean.

Could feel that there was a shortage in staff resulting in slow service. Amenities such as tooth brush and shaving kit were not provided and had to be requested on a daily basis, which is a hassle.

I have wanted to stay at the Bunker Bay Resort for many years, and am so very happy to have finally experienced this beautiful hotel. From our lakeside outlook, my relaxing pedicure, our afternoon game of tennis, daily runs on the treadmill, plentiful breakfast each morning, to the friendly and helpful staff, and a delicious dinner on our last night, Pullman Bunker Bay ticked so many holiday boxes.

3rd visit and wonderful stay in an upgraded 2 bed villa. Location is fantastic and resort layout is superb Breakfast however not to my taste. I don’t eat a cooked breakfast or fresh juice. There was a single choice of uncut bread not for toast, a single cold meat, and 2 cheeses, 1 hard, 1 soft which are not located in the chiller. On my 1st day there was a single piece of sweating cheese left on the board. Pastries also poor, once tried and never repeated.

Really nice stay at Bunker Bay, great big room, very comfortable, lounge and Kitchen available if we wanted to use. Lovely resort with easy walk to beach, friendly staff and Shane was extra helpful when we left, making sure we had "HIS" personal Map of where to go next. Breakfasts were excellent, as was our Dining experience in the restaurant.

Meals were very good and the service at the restaurant was exceptional. One of the best places we have stayed and most enjoyable. Recommend as the place to stay in the Margaret River region.
