« Getting a little tired but the position is awesome »

I have stayed here at least 6 times over the last few years. The position and view is amazing. The public areas now need new carpet and the rooms need a little updating ie mould in grout in bathroom. When we first arrived the lady we dealt with did not smile once and I think maybe hospitality is not her strong point. We were early so came back when the room was ready and a different young woman was not very good at explaining what funds they needed straight up so misunderstanding and confusion reigned. Unfortunately checking out was equally confusing. Needs updating and some staff education.

« Overall good, but irritating around the edges. »

We have stayed here around 10 times over the years; it is good value in a fine location. The overall experience unfortunately has degraded slightly in recent visits, most obviously due to penny-pinching and understaffing. The reception/valet parking on arrival is always the highlight. The rooms are very good value but we were surprised to have a jack hammer join us for the last few afternoons. Other hotels would warn you of such disruption. While good value, the breakfast experience is often shambolic due to low staffing levels and the served food portions (one piece of toast...) gives the impression of cost-cutting compared with recent visits. Unforgiveably, I have never been charged for Flat Whites on previous visits and it came as a shock when I read the bill on arrival home! Clients should be told when something has become an extra - I don't really care about the money but it just adds to the impression of penny pinching.......I wasn't going to bother raising these issues but you did ask!

Room was fine. TV only had local free to air channels in living room. Seeing one person was sleeping the other could only watch trash TV in living room. Breakfast Eggs and bacon were served lukewarm. Understaffing or training issue?

« Fair stay but not a five star hotel »

Pullman is in a beautiful location with great views of the Opera House and Gardens. But the interiors of the rooms and facilities such as gym and pool are really outdated. The suite I stayed at is very spacious but I find the interiors outdated in general. In 5 star hotels I’ve stayed at, I would expect seamless service, some flexibility in check in/check out times and certainly some complimentary water in the rooms. The Pullman does not have any of the above. Wifi is complimentary only if I sign up to a loyal program which is surprising. There was also no one to pick up the luggage when I was being dropped off in a car upon arrival, which is a first for a 5 star hotel experience. For Pullman to improve, it needs a complete renovation, training with staff and ensure small costs are imbedded as opposed to extra add on charge. It’s quite annoying. From extra $100 for an extra hour late check out to $8 water in rooms, this is not high end.

The valet and concierge were efficient and friendly. We arrived early and were very lucky to have the room ready and it being near the top floors with great views. As an unexpected treat, there was also a small pail of lollies for the child with a note "eat me" which was a nice touch. The harbor-side room was exactly as shown on website with wonderful views, and the room was a complete one-bedroom apartment with kitchen, fridge and laundry built in so had we been staying for an extended period it would have been comfortable. It also had an nespresso machine with 6 pods. There were a few things that could have been improved: there is a lot of wood used through out the room which is a soft surface prone to damage and near impossible to keep looking good; the air conditioner was a little noisy (had to turn it off); and the restaurant did not have a child menu for dinner (plenty of other places to eat). However to me they were not all that important and only knocked half a staff off the overall rating. The things I did care about (view, location, service) were all great. p.s. I had to cancel other room bookings for same hotel as dates and people's minds changed but was not a problem, and was called by hotel to confirm I hadn't accidentally clicked the wrong thing, which was nice just in case I had make a mistake. In summary: the service, the room and the hotel location were all great.

« Fabulous overnight family stay »

My children and I had a fabulous overnight stay @ the Pullman Quay. As we arrived early morning, staff were more than accommodating in storing our luggage so that we could explore Sydney without baggage. Upon our return early afternoon we learned our luggage had already been transported to our room saving mummy & 3 x tired children negotiating our way through hotel lugging bags. We really enjoyed the indoor heated pool & spa before retiring to our room, which had an amazing view of the harbour bridge & Kuna Park, and treated ourselves to room service which was delicious. Location is fantastic & so close to ferries & trains. Staff were wonderful from checkin to checkout. Would not hesitate to recommend & look forward to staying here again in the future.

« Disappointing arrival to below standard room - excellent response from hotel staff enabling room transfer following day »

Beautiful view and location superb . Staff excellent. Some food experiences did not live up to expectation, eg main meal( fish of the day ) MUST order sides to complete plate ... Breakfast experience in restaurant disappointing - disorganised - wrong orders , slow service . We really LOVE the 'boutique' feel of the hotel but standards must be maintained to ensure a quality experience for guests

We had a lovely time at the Pullman Quay. The views from our room were spectacular overlooking the harbour, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Luna Park etc, the staff very helpful and we all enjoyed our breakfast. When we visit the city again we will be definitely staying at your hotel. We thought it had one of the best locations in the city. We had our grandson with us and he loved he pool plus the spa and we all had a work out in the gym.

Our initial experience with the Pullman Grand Quay can only be described as exceptional. From the moment of our arrival we were very well taken care of. Firstly the Valet took care of our car, followed by the sincere and warm greeting from the Reception Staff. We were escorted to our room and upon opening the front door we could immediately see the fabulous views of Circular Quay, the Harbour Bridge and Opera House ....then we readjusted our eyes to see just how spacious and lighted filled our room would be for the stay. Every detail had been taken care of by the Hotel Staff including a surprise bottle of bubbles which was waiting for us to help celebrate our anniversary. The bed was very comfortable and room service breakfast was a lovely start to the following day. There was a bit of noise from a couple of the boats closest to the hotel but not a fault of the hotel. Overall it was everything and more than we expected!!!

From the friendly receptionist to the surprise plate of lollies and a balloon in the room, my 2 children were very excited and enjoyed their stay. The view was great, location handy to everything (easy to get public transport or similar). The pool facilities were also great.
