Our stay at the Pullman King George Square Hotel was perfect! This fabulous hotel is in the best location, close to everything including the shopping precinct, major attractions, public transport and eateries. We were ecstatic when we got upgraded to a one-bedroom spa suite. It is luxuriously spacious and comfortable with stunning views of King George Square and the city. The Hampton inspired Goldfinch restaurant and café with its natural light and beautiful greenery is an amazing place to dine at any time of the day. It has the best barista brewed coffee, fresh food and delicious menu choices. Upstairs at the Sixteen Antlers rooftop bar, you can have a drink and soak up the views of the city night lights with comfortable seating and a great atmosphere. Blasting flames light up the building every evening from Thursday to Sunday with an interesting and spectacular light show! A special mention and recognition to the professional and friendly staff at the hotel. Received a warm welcome and greeting from Daniel, the duty manager. Had a delightful dining experience at the Goldfinch restaurant with our wonderful waitress Maria who gave us excellent suggestions from the menu. Euna at the egg station must be the most efficient person at making different styles of eggs in Australia. We learnt a bit of history about the hotel from Stuart (concierge) Mike also from the concierge gave us some great tips on the best beer, steak and seafood in Brisbane. Thanks for the maps and guides you left under our door. Thanks to Michael the general manager for the prompt responses to our enquiries about our stay. Lastly, thanks to all the staff at the hotel for making our visit a memorable and enjoyable experience.

The TV does not work. The lighting in dull. Had to call maintenance to fix the TV and maintenance removed the light cover so that the room gets brighter. One light in the bathroom does not work

Excellent reception room clean and ready on arrival. Reception and restaurant staff were all fantastic. Only downside was construction noise during the day, no real inconvenience as it started after 7 and finished by 5p. Location was good and a big part of our reason for staying at The Pullman.

A family 80th birthday was celebrated at the Goldfinch Restaurant and then an overnight stay for four sisters and their partners (two only). There was 15 of us for lunch and it was an excellent meal. Nikki Vivekananda organised a birthday cake for us as part of the luncheon. Accomadation was excellent and the 80 year birthday "girl" was upgraded to a spa room. She appreciated this as well as the flowers, petite fours and chocolates. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. All staff were friendly from the time we arrived to the time we left. It was a 10 out of 10 experience.

« MERCURE STANDARD FACILITIES IN A "PULLMAN" HOTEL »

Very disappointing experience for what is advertised as a "5 star" hotel. No "5 star" standard restaurant available and no "5 star" standard bar was open at lunch time. Goldfinch restaurant can only be described as a cafe. Very annoyed that the Pullman online information stating that "public indoor parking (paying)" was available was not provided at the reception when I asked about the parking system and payment . I parked my car in the basement car park myself and expected the reception to advise me how to pay. Instead I was directed to the concierge desk where I was "enrolled" automatically in valet parking that I did not want or ask for. I was charged $50 for valet parking that I did not want or use. When I queried this at check out I was told that all parking is valet. I noticed that there was a parking paying machine in the foyer. This seemed to be a scheme to maximise the use of valet parking at the expense of the guests.

Room was fine. Went to use my AccorClub vouchers at 10pm but bar was closing. Was accommodated on 3rd floor (non swipe card secure floor) as a solo female travelling that did not make me feel particularly secure.

The hotel needs to be updated. The aircon, tv and bathroom were out of date and hard to use. The water temperature gage was either cold or boiling Hot as was the aircon. The tv remote had unreadable buttons. Pillows were uncomfortable. The room was defiantly not sound proof and we could hear every passing visitor and staff during all hours of the night which made it incredibly hard to sleep and relax.
