We had banked our points with Accor Vacation Club so used these through Interval international for this holiday. We went to the main entrance of the hotel to book in and was very rudely told we couldn't be there, someone come and told us they had a temporary reception in the South Tower as the Hotel was closed for refurbishment. (the first we knew of this). On registering we were asked if we wanted a toaster, I had rung when I made the booking to check we could get a toaster. After ticking the box was told no. There was little information in the room. We were told we could not charge anything back to our room until the Monday opening of the hotel, even though they took a $1 credit fee. The receptionist on my asking showed me where the facilities were. We were not happy and the Manager came and saw us. He explained why the toasters were not allowed. He then offered to change us on Monday to the refurbished room when the hotel reopened and invited us to the cocktail party. This was on knowing that we were Accor members. On shifting on the Monday the room was fabulous. The Manager was great a real asset to this hotel as he cared about our experience. When we joined Accor Vacation Club in 2006. the big selling point for us was being able to transfer our points to Interval International. This is the first time we have found that using our points through Interval International that we got an inferior room to if we had booked direct with Accor vacation club.

We were most fortunate to arrive on the day that the newly refurbished hotel was opened and thus invited (with others) to cut the red ribbon. We were then invited to the cocktail party with excellent food and drinks, where we were able to meet and mingle with other guests, as well as staff members.

The money I paid was not worth the experience I received. Problems: - Stayed in the south tower which is terrible. I should have been made aware of this on booking as I would not have stayed - Foxtel didnt work - no information in the room about the hotel at all so I had no knowledge of the services, facilities etc etc - no in room dining - no mini bar

However, I am sorry to hear that the Foxtel didn't work in your room. This is a relatively easy fix for our Maintenance team and I will pass that information along to them. Currently our in-room compendiums are being reprinted to coincide with the conclusion of our refurbishments and these will be made available in the rooms as soon as possible. In the meantime, our wonderful reception team is on hand 24 hours a day to be able to provide our guests with any assistance or information they may need. Staff were friendly, underground car park was very dirty to the point of not wanting to sit anything on ground. Second bedroom had power points hanging out of wall with live cables exposed. Beds were comfy, nice close proximity to everything.

Hello, We were very happy with our stay at the Sebel Manly. The staff was great, the accommodation excellent. Our studio was very clean and very well furnished. The service was excellent, we did not lack of anything. Despite the renovations at the North Tower we enjoyed nice meals at the restaurant on the ground floor. The pool at the South Tower had just been renovated and we enjoyed some sun bathing time but did not swim, a bit cold in July...! All the staff members were very helpful, very pleasant and polite, despite the temporary reception because of the North Tower renovations, every staff did their very best to make feel "at home". Antranig was great, as well as Amanda, Cindia, Jaime, Kyong and June the room attendant. Really we could not have asked for better people. We have been to many Sebels, Boral, Cairns, Hunter Valley, Sunshine Coast and Manly, we also stayed at the Novotel in Manly a few years ago, all of them have been great but we highly recommend the Sebel Manly to everyone. We stayed in the building behind the Sebel, which we were aware of. Not as nice as being in the main building. Excited the main building is being updated and cant wait to stay. Location is the key here! Staff friendly, finding the parking was tricky. Price reasonable for off peak.

The staff experience was very good, from the manager, reception staff and room girls. As a Accor member i was just using points that were going to expire and did not plan far enough ahead to get good rooms The one night my (sleep deprived ) son and young family stayed in one of my rooms it was very noisy with a function below us. I know that is part of life in Manly, however they wont accept my offer again. If I stayed again I would plan ahead and if I had enough points I would stay in a front room and as far away from the function room as possible. The position on the Manly beach front is sensational and after your new fit-out I would hope one day I will give it another try.

I was never told about the major renovations when I booked. The room was old, tired and dirty. I used to be a big fan of the Sebel I simply cannot believe the price you charged for what you offered. Ridiculous. Irrespective of the location. I should have been told about the renovations before booking. The temporary front desk and check in was a joke.

It was disappointing to find out the day prior that the front building with the main view was under refurbishment and we had to check in to the hotel in the back ally near the bins. When we booked it did mention the south building but we didn’t know what this meant. It should have been clearer. Also to find out no room service was available was disappointing and due to this we checked out at 8.30am, as we had to go out to breakfast It was a belated honeymoon and my mother had our 9 month old daughter so it was also our first night away. It was something we were really looking forward to but it didn’t hit the mark.

In terms of the location of the south tower, I'm sorry you didn't find the information to be clearer. Our standard studio rooms are all located in this building and your room would be located there even if the north tower was open and operational. I will let our management team know and hopefully that information can be clarified online. With regards to room service, room service is not available for breakfast even when the hotel is fully open, as our room service normally runs from 11am to 11pm. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Hopefully we will see you after our refurbishments have been completed and perhaps we can provide you with a more enjoyable stay in one of our beautiful ocean view rooms in the north tower.
