The location is very convenient to family we see whilst in Newcastle, the rooms are always clean and comfortable. As Accor members we get a free drink; and this time also able to get breakfast for $1 each on both mornings. The breakfast was fantastic - great range of cereals, fruit, breads, gluten free and hot options. A well enjoyed stay

The staff at this hotel were very friendly and approachable, the bed was comfortable, white linen was crisp and fresh, bathroom was clean, shower was hot and had good pressure, free parking was a big plus, breakfast buffet 'deal' was amazing and location was convenient. Would stay here again.

The staff were absolutely fantastic welcoming and helpful the young guy at the front desk was extremely well mannered and curtous, breakfast was good price wise probably could come down to $15 or have a better rate for pensioners. The room that was offered to us 201 was run down mouldy and noisey. I payed extra for another room ( NO WAY WE WERE SLEEPING IN THAT ROOM). The building itself looks ok from the outside but the inside needs a lot of attention immediately. Being in contraction for nearly 40yrs I noticed quite a few trip hazards and health hazards to name a few car park needs extra lighting trip hazard at the rear entrance pot holes in driveway and speed hump needs to be high lighted health issues mould in bathroom and wardrobe. To sum up the building needs to be upgraded at the same level as the staff.

For the first time in 10 yrs I was disappointed with the quality of my meal. I ordered the Prawn and crab cakes w/ cucumber and rocket salad @$19.00 and received 2 x 20 cent piece size fish cakes with a sprinkle of 4 tiny rocket leaves and no cucumber. For main I ordered the Tagine of vegetables and steamed Barramundi @ $36.00. The vegetables were diced and floating in a sauce which made everything and the Barramundi taste the same. Also, PLEASE replace the bed pillows with anything better than floppy old foam ones. Even the little Motel I stay in, in Queanbeyan has the best Hotel quality Pillows.

We have the same pillows in all rooms none off which are foam however we do have foam ones on request as well as hard, feather and latex pillows upon request, please always feel free to request different pillows if preferred and i will make sure we place a note for housekeeping to do so. Found on arriving with my elderly mum unpacked car put bags at door in light drizzle and door wouldn’t open, tried internally as well no luck. Reception reset key and we got in only to find in fridge bottles of wine half empty back to reception with bottles !( left from guests before) then unpack and relax only to find tv so badly pixilated couldn’t watch! Back to reception he had a look said he would find out problem and come back..... didn’t come back ! So after string around 4 no tv was long night. Not real impressed and I’m an Accor member.

My husband and I had stayed here once before and were pleased with our previous stay. This time however, we were quite disappointed with our stay. The room was dated, a little musty and the bed was so hard. The traffic noise continued until well after midnight. We didn’t sleep very well at all. We went to the bar to relax after our long day to find that it was set up for a conference the next day, and there were no tables to set down our drinks on, so we had to put them on the floor. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the in room meal was very nice.

Having stayed previously I had high expectations however I was somewhat disappointed. Initially, I was given a smaller room than I had booked. After querying this I was moved without problem. However when moved, the room had insufficient towels and the bathroom was very smelly. I put up with this and simply requested additional towels the next day. On check in I had booked breakfast for 2 of us for 2 days at the reduced rate of $20 pp. On attending breakfast the second day we were advised that breakfast was not included. I advised that we had ordered breakfast this day on check in and we were told that this was ok and had breakfast. When I returned home and checked the bill, I noticed that we had been charged the full rate of $27 pp for breakfast on the second day. This made me very angry as we had clearly stated that we wanted breakfast for 2 days on not 1 day on check in. I have stayed at Mercure hotels many times and a few times at this particular hotel but I will not stay again.
