« Amazing - the standard of the hotel, location and staff were all fantastic »

As mentioned above, my stay was fantastic, the standard of the room, the location and the staff were all fantastic. If I had to have one slight criticism was that we had an interconnecting door in our room and on one of the nights, there was a group of people in the other room making a lot of noise, I'm not sure if it was noisy because of the interconnecting door or if the walls are not really that sound proof - other than that it was a great stay!

1. Clock in the room was about 45 minutes wrong! I was too busy ask for a change. It was never corrected. Muy stupido. 2. My representative Sebastian Alderete (who has a mutual business relationship with Brick Hotel management, and who arranged for my stay) requested a nice bottle of wine for my room for my arrival. (He didn't tell me this until after I had checked out) When I arrived there was a tiny 6 oz. bottle of Malbec on the table along with some chocolate truffles. I never opened the little bottle of wine, I thought it was a token "souvenir". At my next hotel I did open it and it was so sweet as to be undrinkable. Like cough syrup. But maybe that's just a style I don't appreciate? I'm certainly willing to accept that. I drank a lot of Malbec in my time in Buenos Aires and also in New York and I do not remember any that sweet. I do believe Mr. Alderete was also quite embarrassed that there was no bottle of wine for me. Later the Brick said to him that they did deliver a bottle of white wine to my room before I arrived. I was in room 711. My assistant, Ms. Livchak, was in rom 303. Maybe the wine was delivered to her room? I don't know she never mentioned it. I fired her 2 days later so it is of no importance, especially since I never knew about till after I checked out. However I do think it was a great embarrassment to my host Mr. Alderete. 3. The first time I had breakfast in the hotel dining room, I was greeted warmly and seated. I ordered a cappuccino and I said "Agua, agua, agua por favor!" the waiter smiled and replied "Water?' and I said "Si!" (I had gotten a bad cold and was very thirsty.) The waiter brought my coffee and then disappeared! He never came back. The restaurant was not busy, there were only 2 other occupied tables. But I got no water. FINALLY I caught the attention of a waitress and she immediately jumped in to get my water! She was excellent, it really helped my spirits. But the actions of the waiter are unacceptable. 4. The light switch controls in the room were very confusing! It was hard for me to understand how to activate the lights in the area I needed. I finally found out after 2 days there was a switch on the back of the small lamp by the bed which is the main light I use, in addition to the bathroom where the lighting was very good. The problem in the bathroom was the magnifying mirror. It is a very useful tool but unfortunately could not be adjusted to stay up in one direction! If you wanted to see your face you had to hold it in place with your hand. Which defeats the purpose of putting on make-up with both hands. You would have to sit on a very low stool to be able to use it without holding it. I finally had to give up. Very nice feature if you could adjust so you could see your face but you can't! Very frustrating. I asked my assistant in 303 if she was having the same problem, and she was! You need to fix this IMMEDIATELY! I believe men also use this feature for shaving. Maybe men only need one hand to shave and they can hold the mirror with their opposing hand? But only very very short men, like perhaps a midget, could take advantage of the low mirror. It would seem to be an easy thing to fix. I am 68 years old so I realize some things are likely to confuse me!

Highest service level, nice rooms, good food and breakfast, smiling people, usage of consierge service to exploit the city and best restaurants etc. Maybe to few elevators for such a big hotel. Overall very good experience

« Hotel Full and with no hot water »

The Bad - The hotel is great. The employees amazing, but I was a little bit upset about the check in process because the hotel did not have hot water when I arrived and I specifically requested not getting a room in these conditions. I waited over 6 hours to check in (since 6 in the morning) and I was willing to wait more for a room with hot water. Still, that was not the case. I was so tired I took the keys they gave me after so many promises of getting hot water soon. I had to go to a friend's house to take a hot shower after my long trip. The Good - I just want to mention an employee at the hotel who went above and beyond to accommodate me and make me feel welcome. Her name is Fabi (maybe Fabiola). She works at the restaurant. I saw her always at breakfast time. She is wonderful, and such a professional employee who seems to enjoy her job and make the hotel image look impeccable. Congratulations on having her as part of your team.

The make staff member at the reception who checked us in was aloof, bordering with rude. He acted as if he owned the hotel and was giving us the room for free. The room was outdated. The curtains needed repairs and even though I contacted the reception to let them know their attempt to fix them was poor at best. This hotel suits package tours from the USA, in fact we had them next door and woke us up every morning with their loud conversations. Paper thin walls? On the other hand I’m glad they enjoyed their trip to Antartica. We hear very detailed descriptions every day. Will I stay there again? Maybe as I am a Platinum member, but there are many nicer hotels in Buenos Aires.
