« Excellent, hotel and facilities are great. Except for one staff who ruined my day. »

I had a bad encounter with the lone male staff who was detailed in 13April2018, around 420am that day I was checking out and he seemed not to know his job. He asked me an unintelligible question so I asked him to repeat it, but he rudely said "I asked you a question, you did not answer it". I don't speak Australian english, do your staff cant understand that? Maybe he was pissed off because I correctly pointed to him that the 3 items I took from the bar was worth $12, not $24. I told him to look at the piece of paper I had filled-up, it was clearly checked that only 3 items were consumed in Day 2, I did not get anything in other days. Not only that, one of my companions was charged a dinner he did not have! Plus other snaffus he committed not right for an excellent hotel like mercure. In short, he is confused with his job and he cannot go well with customers.

My stat at the Mercure was satisfactory. It was not outstanding and not poor. The waiter at dinner was a little over bearing. The sound of cleaners vacuuming during breakfast was A little annoying. Fly’s in the breakfast room were also annoying. The room and facilities were clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. No major complaints.

It is a modern well presented hotel. The staff were friendly and provided a good service. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, clean and well maintained. The quality and presentation of food in the restaurant was first class. The location provided us with easy access to were we needed to be. This experience made our stay very enjoyable.

As soon as we walked through the doors we were warmly welcomed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The building and our room was fresh, clean and very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant with guests and enjoyed a delicious meal and great service. I will highly recommend family and friends to stay at your hotel if they are staying at Newcastle Airport or if they were wanting to eat at a nice restaurant.

Hotel is conveniently located to Newcastle airport and Stockland beach sand dunes for quad biking adventure. Clean modern comfortable and quiet hotel and rooms. Nothing flash but good basic amenities with suitable on site restaurant. We had the breakfast buffet before heading out early the next day and it was fine. If you're not expecting 5* service you won't be disappointed. Staff are efficient and the overall experience was good. Room rates are very reasonable.

Paid parking. I stay frequently in Sydney and other states and parking is part of the package. You guys are getting a monopoly on having nothing else around, your food is super expensive. Pay for foxtel? Are you kidding?

I stayed in your hotel because I was attending a wedding close bye. I was not flying out and using the car park as a long term park. I consider a $15.00 parking fee to be a rip off. I have stayed in hotels & motels before and never been charged to park in their car park. Make sure you publish this on your website.

The only surprise was being charged for car parking. This was not stated when I booked - that it would be an additional charge. When I arrived they asked my car license plate details but again did not indicate I would be charged for this.
