Staying at your motel should entitle me to free parking as it is a gated car park then only paying customers should have access to the car park.

« Great little hotel. Very convenient. »

Friendly staff and very clean. We stayed there before an early morning flight to Melbourne. The free shuttle bus was very welcome and great that we could leave our car there for the week at a reasonable rate. However we did think the nightly rate was rather high.

« Nice Staff just a coupleof small problems »

Great Helpful Staff My toilet was not cleaned (I did not complain because I simply wiped and flushed) I had a very Blue piece of Lamb served that was so tough and cold I could not eat I, but both Sandy and the Chef were very good about it. I then had it the next night and it was outstanding (So all good in the end)

« Room was good but rest could be improved »

My room was great. The hallways were HOT. Why are there no air conditioning vents in the communal areas of the hotel? It was oppressive in the overall building, and after long connecting flights I exited the lift and had an instant "oh no" association with the hotel. Thankfully that "oh no" was premature as the room itself was great. I also had a disappointing meal in the restaurant. I ordered the pork belly, which arrived without the crackling top (the best part), but rather was crumbed like "popcorn chicken", thereby encasing the layers of fat (the worst part) in the dish. I spent AGES un-crumbing the food so that I could scrape out the layers of fat before just giving up. The meal presentation was excellent, execution was flawless, but the concept itself was flawed.

Check-in was a breeze. Everything was at reception waiting for me after contacting reception to enter the car park. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast very good. I was however only looking for something light for dinner off the room service menu and there wasn't anything available.

My stay at "MERCURE HOTEL" at Newcastle was ok. The fridge in the room I stayed in made a lot of clicking sound which eventually got annoying. And someone tried to open our door in the middle of the night, I would have reported it if it happened twice.

Convenient location so close to Newcastle airport, clean rooms and a short trip to the airport saved an early start from Taree for an early flight to Brisbane. Check in staff are lovely and I also parked my car there until my return with the shuttle bus dropping me at the airport as well as picking me up after my return flight.

Pillow on the beds had a strong stale sweat smell. These pillow should have been replaced sone time ago. Housekeeping should have picked this up. Reception also wanted to charge me for full price for my breakfast even though i had the $1 online booking special. Will not be staying here again.

« The Mecure Newcastle met or exceeded all of my expectations. »

I had a room and staff couldn't have been more helpful in organising it all for me, keeping water and glasses refreshed and making sure I had lunch throughout my 2 days of interviewing. The room were perfect, well appointed with powerpoints etc for technology. The evening menu was small but suitable. The meal was huge and delicious. Breakfast was good. No complaints. The staff were amazing. They were so friendly and very attentive, not just to me, but to all visitors from what I could see. I have been recommending you to everyone.

Overall stay was to expectation except for check in. "Karen" on the counter was "cooly efficient". Asked us to fill in a form, gave us our keys and drinks voucher, and plonked (one) bottle on the counter for us to share. She was very automated and we didn't feel as if we were being welcomed to the hotel, instead, we felt we were just another booking being processed! Every other Accor hotel we have stayed in has made us feel special upon check in, but not this time. On a positive note, the gentleman behind the bar that night was friendly and very helpful.
