Delighted to see renovated bathrooms. Only con was no cutlery for take away meal. I used a spoon so wasn't a big deal. Tariff was so cheap and room was clean warm and comfortable.The water quality has improved with no more funny taste.

Room was suitable, lack of staff in the morning made breakfast a poor experience. One staff member to do everything in the restaurant was not enough, people had to wait for items to be replenished etc. A number of guests made comment that particular morning.

The hotel experience was ok. I did have a few issues which I feel need to be addressed. 1) The Booking.com system asks what time you will be arriving. If you specify a late arrival of say 10pm the confirmation email advises that the late arrival request cant be agreed to and that you need to check with the hotel. Given that the hotel is open 24 hrs, customer experience would be improved if booking.com had this information so the extra step of ringing the hotel would not be required. 2) The phone number given on the web site is the phone number of the Pub next door not the Ibis Styles 3) I rang that number (whilst in transit to Canberra) in order to check that I could get in at 10.30pm. The man gave me a number to call which turned out to be the number for the nearby cabins rather than the Ibis Styles. I left a message but no one called me back. I waited a while then called the original number again (went through to the pub again). It was only after a lot of discussion that the man at the pub realised that I didn't want the cabins but the Ibis Styles and gave me the number to the Ibis Styles, I rang that and was told it was open 24 hrs. 4) Through all of this I wasted a lot of time on the side of the road when I could have been tucked in bed at the Ibis Styles. There are a number of points during all this at which your systems if correct could have saved me this anguish of not knowing if I would have a bed for the night. I seriously contemplated sleeping in the car. 5) When I got to the room it was very cold. It wasn't obvious how to get the air con going - I had to dig through the manual. Ideally the Air Con could have been turned on 30 mins before my arrival (a time which you would have known if the booking.com system of asking me when I was arriving actually passed this information to the Ibis Styles), but at the least, this important info (how to get the air coin going) could have been printed on a special leaflet on the bed (or small sign near the door) or something else. Good customer experience is key to you getting return bookings.
