the room was almost claustrophobic. It smelled like mold, and sure enough I saw mold in it. The sheets had stains, the blanket was the oldest one I have ever seen, and it had no cover. The pillows were old and flat as pancakes. The towels were as rough as sandpaper and just as thin. No handtowel. I expected more from Ibis.

The room was small and grubby. I did not book the room - it was booked for three days by my travel agent. I specifically asked for all hotels booked to include a safe deposit box. There wasn't one. I arrived on Saturday evening so had little choice but to stay but I moved to another hotel on the Sunday accepting (reluctantly) that I would in effect be paying twice for two nights. I have stayed in plenty of Accor hotels and this was in my opinion well below the standard of that chain.

My taxi driver took me to the wrong hotel and I had to walk 2 blocks to this hotel. If taking a taxi make sure the driver knows the address and doesn't just go by the hotel's name. I would suggest pre-booking transportation from the airport via booking.com or utilizing Uber because my experience with the taxi queue at the airport was not pleasant. The airport employee I seemed to have a scam running with the taxi drivers and they tried to overcharge me. I had the address of my hotel but I guess the driver thought he knew which hotel it was and ended up taking me to the wrong hotel. I used booking.com to book transport for my return home and there were no issues to report. The rooms were small but adequate. Not many of the staff speak English. The hotel was clean and there was an onsite restaurant. The hotel is maybe a 10 or 15-minute walk to the beach. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. I felt safe at this location. Good stay and a great price.
