« Didn't want to leave! »

'A warm Reception is just the beginning' - my expectations were exceeded (a rare occurrence). My selection of 4 from 5 regarding cleanliness isn't a true reflection of the high standard experienced - the Hotel/Room were spotless. My reason for the rating is based upon the upper lip of the hand basin (where it meets the stone vanity base -911) needs a cut out of the existing mastic joint and re-application of new silicone sealant/mastic. In the whole scheme of things minor, but recognised as in need of attention - hence my inability to rate a 5. When I/We return to Singapore - I wouldn't consider any other property. Again - many thanks to the team - a greatly refreshing stay.

Room was quite small but have a great layout. Perhaps the hotel can change the lightning such that not all the lights are connected to the main light circuit. And that the air con takes Too Long to decrease its temperature.

I have stayed in a large number of IBIS hotels during my business trips to Europe i.e. Germany, Switzerland, Spain , Amsterdam etc., I am satisfied with my staying in IBIS and thus build up my confidence in staying the brand hotel. However, the IBIS Macpherson did make me disappointed for the room is too small with a column at the centre of the room Rm 484. The area for breakfast has no air-conditioned. etc., The lobby is too small etc., Having said that, there are good things like: staff is helpful and speak good English. Regards, Peter c.

The check-in process was not smooth. I handed over my ID and credit card and had to wait while two FO team members contacted someone else to see if my reservation was prepaid (it was under an advance purchase rate which should have been reflected). There was also no pre-authorisation completed on my card, it was just handed back without the details being entered in which I found odd. We arrive at our room to find that the pull-out bed had not been made up for the third person in our group, and also what looked like a blood smear/stain of dark colour on one of the light switches. The housekeeping staff on the floor were helpful in quickly setting up the extra bed for us, though this should have been ready for our arrival. The absence of hand and face towels, and body lotion was also disappointing. We found the housekeeping service of our room to be very inconsistent. After the first night our room was serviced and we had three bottles of water put in the room which we didn’t have on arrival. And then after the second night we had a vanity kit and toothbrushes in the bathroom which we didn’t have the first two nights. This was highly inconsistent and inexcusable. We dined in the restaurant on our last night. The food was of decent quality and came out in a timely manner. Three things made the dining experience not a great one: the first, service was slow and our drinks order was not correct. We had to repeat our order after a period of waiting for the drinks, and then when we paid for the bill had to have them added to the bill. Secondly, there was a sign at the front reception of the restaurant which stated that LeClub members could receive 10% off. This is incorrect as it is for AccorPlus members only, which I knew. This should be changed. Lastly and most importantly, when we were presented the bill I asked if we could put the charge to our room. The F&B staff called front desk and then we were told no postings could be made to the room as there was no card on file. This was incredibly frustrating seeing as though I had already presented my card on check-in to the duty manager (Simon), and the staff member’s mistake impacted on my stay. Overall, our stay at the hotel was highly disappointing and the service we received was inconsistent. The duty managers were unhelpful and the service and quality of our stay was not up to standard. I work for AccorHotels in Australia and therefore am well aware of the where the standard on service and quality should be. I have also stayed at ibis hotels where the service we received was of a very high standard, whereas this experience at ibis Styles was awful and I would not recommend the hotel to anyone travelling in Singapore.

The stay this time round was not as good. The guests in the next room (813) were talking really loudly and could be heard very clearly through the walls. There was no privacy. There were also numerous people talking on their phones outside their rooms and it was quite a disturbance. The hotel has also ceased providing complimentary parking for its hotel guests which would make me reconsider staying here the next time round.

« Room smelled awful .... commercial center empty. »

We had two rooms for this visit .... the room assigned to my wife and I had an awful smell. We mentioned it to the front desk who said they would get housekeeping on it. After 2 days we couldn't take it anymore and complained again. We were switched to a room with no smell but a large column in it that made moving around extremely difficult. It was not awful....but not good for another 3 days. My daughters room was OK but did not have a window. She is somewhat claustrophobic so 5 days in that room was tough on her. We are travelling to Madrid June 20 for 9 days ... our preferred locations is the Ibis Prado but it is either not available or the prices are more than double the normal rate. We are considering the Ibis Centro or Centro Las Ventas but are unsure where we will be staying.

Totally non co-operative staff Rude in behavior Basic things like tea, coffee material, etc are also not provided in the rooms.. Need to followup for each and every thing Poor spread for breakfast. Cutlery in which food is served is dirty. Non availability of food during the breakfast timings. When asked for the reception told non availability of any feedback form.

« Odd ambience for IBIS »

As I arrived by public transport I had difficulty locating the reception area, I failed to find any signage to point me to the reception. The reception assumes ALL travellers will come by taxi on Macpherson Rd, I came from the MRT via Aljunied Rd therefore blundered about the lower level of the shopping area. Stayed one night arrived late ish 8pm, but was told the bar/cafe close at 10pm. Left early next day so no idea about the Chat Chow area on level 4, it didn't inspire me. The room was pleasant if a little garish, though I guess that is the 'Styles' part of the brand? Comfy nights rest and wifi performed well. Easy conncetion by publuic tranport to return to the Airport or to get to other areas of Singapore
