Staff where friendly, room was comfortable. Only complaint I would say is the room I was in 129 the air ventilation didn't work in the bathroom and the hot water in the shower went from comfortable to red hot all by itself.

« Full of screaming children »

Went there for a relaxing break after burying fathers ashes , stayed there several times before . The noise in the public areas was terrible children lying on floor right next to me screaming . Pool table had screaming children on it and the reception area had a load of them running up and down all night . Lovely hotel but the staff had no control over this as there were several older people in as well. We couldn't even speak to each other because of noise and went to bed at 9.30 very disappointing at our very sad loss time.surely the staff should have done something about this !

We stay here 5 or 6 times a year, sometimes for 4 or 5 nights and have for quite a few years now. The staff are v pleasant and helpful, the room is clean, bed comfy (firmer pillows would be nice) and breakfast is v good. Normally try and book direct w hotel. Emergency when car broke down meant having to go via call centre. Issue when booking in as price quoted over phone/ in email confirmation didn't include the new £10 pn dog surcharge but reimbursed by Friday night duty manager. Apparently the charge is due to new contractor providing cleaning services and is to allow for "deep cleaning" of rooms w doggy residents each day. Usually we only get towels changed and tea and coffee topped up. What about messy visitors / people with kids where their rooms require a deep clean? Are dogs subsidizing cleaning up behind other guests? Suggest you spread the cost of your cleaning contract across all guests as it'd be fairer. We won't automatically book crewe now as we have B and B options for c£56 pn. Also, please ask the cleaners to check the tables in the seating area adjacent to the bar. We found gum under the lip of one when we had breakfast.

The staff are friendly and the room are clean. The issue I have had is that there appears to be something not working in each room I stay in. The TV remote batteries may be flat, the power socket in the bathroom not function, light bulbs broken, chair missing, etc. Regards, Scott

Good location. . There were no obvious issues with the room but didnt sleep well and woke up on a few times on each of the three night that I stayed. The service in the restaurant was very slow and the food very basic.

« Great price and clean, comfy room. »

Although we only stayed for one night, it was really worth it! The bed was really comfortable but we thought the sofa bed could have been more robust, it was fine for the kids but not suitable for adults. The complimentary teas were nice and it was great to have water bottles in the room as well. The TV was good but we would have liked to also have had iplayer and netflix too as there wasn't many good films on for kids in the evening on the channels. We really liked the breakfast but a few hot items would have been nice too- like eggs, sausages etc. Also, we stayed in Ibis styles in France and kids received a complimentary bag of goodies - but nothing here.

« Generally ok, but shower temperature fluctuations were annoying! »

The hotel & room was perfectly fine - I would’ve preferred a double over a twin, but I appreciate that comes down to availability. The TV wasn’t working in my room (no signal, even though everything seemed connected ok), but not a major issue for me as I was happy watching TV/media on my phone. The main issue I’ve had this visit (& every previous visit) is the dramatic temperature fluctuations of the shower - I had thought this was due to other guests, but even when using very late at night (when I needed to freshen up after a long trip) it would still jump from warm to scalding every few seconds - frustrating & uncomfortable. Breakfast was great for me (but I’m a simple cereal/toast/tea man, so easy to please!). Extremely convenient location for me as very close to my Crewe office.

Overall the stay, as usual, was a good experience. But it got off to a very poor start when the receptionist on duty was most unhelpful & abrupt when we wanted to pay by cash & not credit card. We were advised categorically that we couldn’t book in because without a credit card or ID, we might not be good for any further costs incurred such as wilful damage etc.. We are two grey haired oldies, what on earth did she think we were intending to do !! We faced a 3 hour journey back home to fetch ID/cards but thankfully our sister who lives relatively nearby, came to our assistance with her credit card & ID. Ok, understand you may have rules & regulation but shouldn’t penalise those that like to still use cash from time to time & you should make these rules more noticeable to clientele. After using your hotel several times a year for 5-6 years now, we won’t use it again after this experience. Your receptionist made us feel awful, like we had done wrong.

« Nice clean place to stay. »

On arrival very satisfied, no towels in room was slowly rectified 1 hr later, door lock stiff so stuck in room told we would be moved next day didn't happen ,went down for dinner at 7-05 to be told we were too late then watched people arrive after us be seated and served and on checking on website on TV in room it said 10 o'clock, other than that everything else was fine.

« no bath towels »

Staying for work, I want efficient check-in (tick), comfy bed, good reading lights (good spots on floor, not god for reading), adequate towels to cover me and my hair. the "bath towels" would count as hand towesl in my house and I after first night I was told there were none in hotel which was full of oud families.

After arriving exhausted there was a hiccup with the room. Simon the manager went above and beyond to make sure we were settled and comfortable in the hotel. To the extent of personally moving all our bits and pieces to a fresh room for us.

« Never stay here »

This was the worst hotel experience, we could not stay here and left. The room was cold, window open and radiator switched off. Had there been an incident in the room previously? There were no towels. The room is completely uninviting, wooden floor, no furniture to speak off, no glasses in the bathroom. Nothing. This was the most depressing hotel room I have ever been in and we just left. Considering the advertised charge of £79 this is way too much for this room.

« Disappointed this was an Ibis standards were not as expected »

‘This was extremely basic even for an Ibis and would not stay here again’ ➖ The toilet flush was broken, the lock on our door was not working properly and couldn’t lock it at night, the sheets on the bed did not fit properly, we had one pillow each and they were very flat, the breakfast was very basic and no cooked food included (I have stayed at other Ibis hotels where a cooked buffet was included so expected this), to top it all the day we checked out there was a fun run outside on the main road and so I asked reception about if we could access the road to leave and they didn’t have a clue! ➕ The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was adequate and a comfortable temperature, tea and coffee facilities were ok
