« Basic and clean »

We knew it was a basic hotel but it was clean. There were no hand towels provided. We asked for a fan on the third night and was provided with one. Breakfast was good although there was no fresh fruit salad on 2 days due to delivery issues. Staff very pleasant and helpful especially receptionists and restaurant staff. Car parking good. Quiet at night despite it being full.

We stayed for one night only and thank goodness it was only a night. The hotel was dated and the room shabby, un-cared for and unclean. For example there was a thick layer of dirt around the switch on lamp and a small hole in one of the walls. The shower could not maintain a constant temperature and the soap dispenser next to the sink leaked soap constantly. There was plenty of choice for breakfast however the food was cheap and tasteless. We Also had to ask for extra toilet roll as our room only had one roll 1/4 full. We were each given one flat pillow so we went to ask at reception for a second pillow. The receptionist was sat on the reception desk watching videos on his phone. When we asked if we could have a second pillow he said no, there were none left in the hotel. This was a blatant lie as the hotel was not full it is also incredibly rude if the hotel only provide one they should expect people for as for an extra pillow. The hotel was more reasonably priced than others in the area however this is no excuse for such a poor customer experience. We were not expecting 5 star luxury but you do expect the basics.

« One improvement but some new shortfalls »

Reception now shows the specials which is better as people actually know that specials are on that current night. On another note during the hot weather the hotel didnt have any ice buckets for rooms to keep drinks cool. Ordered food one night and paid the room charge over £2.00 per time and when the food was delivered there were a few sauce sachets on the tray rather then the bowl for full selection. Depending on the cleaner that cleans the rooms you might have a bottle of spring water in your room it would be nice to have this constantly rather then having to fill the kettle from the bathroom tap. The Reception also advised me they had stopped supplying water to the rooms which obviously isnt the case. The pool table in the bar area is shocking at approx £1.00 per game the table is not level and not really worth playing on, the room showers have no set temperature scolding you one moment then freezing you the next, the toilets some flush properly some dont and some of the sinks drain free and some dont. Whilst the issues above are not major and the stay in general isnt bad when staying away from home and paying for services I expect to be as comfortable as possible. If the issues above could be addressed it would make the Ibis experience allot better, at present I cannot recommend anyone to use the Ibis hotel and may look at other hotels in the area.

The hotel is located within walking distance (10-15 minute walk) of Crewe station and so is handy if you are arriving by train. The room was very comfortable and clean and the complimentary breakfast was very good. The only small problem I experienced was the remote control for the TV didn't work.

« Nice Hotel close to Crewe Train Station »

Rooms are standard size and have all you would need for a short stay. Hotel and surrounding grounds are kept very well. Staff are very helpful too. Ideal location for anyone going to watch Crewe Alexandra as the stadium is only 5 minute walk away (the same for the train station). The retail center is about 5 minutes in a taxi (£5) and the center of Crewe is about the same. Breakfast was nice too.

arrived at the reception at 1355hrs to check in and was told by female member of staff that rooms were not ready and check in time was 1400hrs...I took a seat near reception and waited...there were dirty cups and glasses in the bar area and the carpet needed vacuum cleaning . At 1410hrs the receptionist had not called me back to the desk and so I made my way to the desk again. I was given a room and duly went to find it. On arriving at the room I found it was not air conditioned and was boiling hot...I was sure that id read "manual air conditioning" was available. The only information available within the room was a leaflet on what food could be ordered. there was no iron or ironing board and for £75 I would have expected more. the two bottles of water supplied in the room were a nice touch however.

Check in was easy, bed very comfortable, breakfast OK. However bathroom ventilation was a problem as shower turned bathroom into a steam room which made the morning difficult. Some better ventilation would have made the trip much more enjoyable as it caused problems getting ready for work.

Not good. Check in was fine but the room was extremely hot and we could not get the temperature down as there is no air conditioning. It was so hot I checked out 2 hours later as it was too hot for our children. There was no offer of refund or rebate. When we checked out there were homeless/junkies people going through the cigarette bin outside, there were gypsies on site and i would have not been happy to leave my car

Checked in on Wednesday night having booked as we had stayed in ibis styles in Liverpool and a number of your other locations. I was bitterly disappointed. The receptionist wasn’t very accommodating when asking for a couple of pillows as there was only one in the room - I was told everyone else had checked in so she wasn’t sure if we could have any at all. The room looked like a child’s room (222) and wasn’t the cool quirky decor we had been used to previously. As a brand I’d assumed this should be carried through all your hotels as this is the basis guests re-book. The bar was a shambles - the area looks like a school canteen. The bar has no ice and not one member of staff seemed interested in asking what we would like to drink despite being at the bar for 5 minutes. We ended up going elsewhere. When we got back the extra pillows were in our room but we’re dirty (I have photos). At this point I was so tired from being unwell we chose to just go to sleep. £114 a night for a dirty I’ll managed hotel we will never be booking again. Shame because your other hotels have been brilliant.
