Very nice hotel. Well located, well maintained. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Unfortunately the fire alarm went off any about 5.45am. Thought the hotel staff dealt with it professionally and I would rather the fire alarm go off than not go off in the event of an incident. But meant that not a great night's sleep.

All good apart from breakfast being a bit chaotic. Don't normally have breakfast but I like to have my cooked breakfast on a warm plate and they were cold.

« Blocked sink, faulty plug sockets, late night party noise and mediocre breakfast »

The place has started to fall apart since we last stayed, maintenance is not under control...and really didn’t appreciate the party noise which was thumping disco music in our room. There were posters apologising for it but that doesn’t make it ok. The blocked since was discovered at 10pm when it was time to brush teeth and our small child was asleep...the cleaners must have known about this. Same the plug sockets not working to charge phones. Breakfast meh managed to find some edible food but mostly unhealthy/porky/fatty/processed food.

« Challenging! »

On arrival my pre-booking with points hadn't been reflected & I was presented initially with an invoice for the full amount. The fire alarm went off at 06:00 - the lights in my room, when trying to leave, were not working so we had to prop the door open for some light. Having made it outside there were no staff at the muster point or any explanation of what had occurred, folk just started drifting back in after a while. The room itself was fine - service in the bar & at breakfast was good but I think you have some technical & procedural challenges

« Didn't get what we booked. »

Accor member. Booked a queen double room. When we checked in, accor membership wasn't recorded and had to ask for welcome drinks. Given twin room without any comment. Went back to reception to request correct type of room and was told they hadn't changed our booking. Moved to a room of the type booked. Room was queen double but was as far from reception as was possible. Broken buttons in shower and chipped cup for beverages. Not really up to standard. When we went for breakfast, couldn't find us on list. When they finally did, it showed we were originally booked for another room and clearly my booking had been changed by the hotel. I advised reception that I did not like being told untruths. Very unhappy with the experience at this hotel.

« Practical and convenient. »

Exactly as expected. Value for money. Hotel clean and well presented. Staff helpful and friendly. Bar and restaurant are adequate for what was required. Location good for getting around. Situated by a rail line and not far from motorway but next to no noise noticed in room. Will be using this hotel again next year.

I stayed on thus. Dirty sheets. Loud noise in room 108 complained nothing done could not sleep. Wrote a email after the stay heard nothing. Some gentlemen got fried eggs and hash browns no idea how to get this just had a buffet :(

I visit the IBIS Barnsley often, the staff there are always welcoming. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I use their meeting facilities often and I never encounter any problems. Breakfast meetings are great too, the food is lovely.
