Wonderful Family Experience - Luxury + Comfort

We absolutely loved our stay at the Sofitel. The mix of luxury and comfort was terrific. The concierge staff, Jany and Regina, went out of their way to make my kids feel special. Days later they were still wishing we were back at the Sofitel! In addition, the location was great - very accessible to all of the sights. 10/10 would stay here again.

Awfully developed

While the staff are very courteous and helpful, the “hard product”, ie the property itself is lacking. I was disappointed with this hotel which I decided to try in the first place because I love the Sofitel brand and I don’t get to use it often as there aren’t too many in the latam region. The motor lobby is a mess, the actual lobby is small, having to use different elevators all the time, small and crowded gym, the rooms feel tiny, no trash cans in the bathroom, bathroom facing other bathrooms with insufficient coverage from the blinds, the rooms didn’t offer enough toiletries such as face vs body soap, the pool’s tiles are falling off, the locker room towels are in disrepair, etc. Definitely not what I expect from the Sofitel brand or any other hotel for which I pay nearly US$ 600 per night. Sad to say I will not be a repeat customer if I can avoid it.

The hotel is amazing but we noticed there were a little details that need more attention. Some walls that need a makeover, the pool has some parts that need them too. Those details make the whole difference.
