We had stayed before and were glad to come back. Second night we came back at 11 pm and noticed water dripping from the bathroom ceiling, lots of it on the floor. Just after this the electricity went off. We managed to call the reception and were swiftly moved to anothe room. Fortunately our things suffered no damage and were mostly in bags so the move in semi darkness (iphone torch) was doable. The new room was said to be superior, but only the view was better, otherwise we preferred the set-up of the first one. There was a bi* spider and very confusing light switches. All in all the room was fine. At departure we got compensated for the inconvenience by covering our two nights of parking. This was nice but happened only after some discussion. The breakfast is very nice. The hotel corridors are dark - seting thi light to turn on a bit sooner might be an improvement. We will still be glad to recommend the Pullman Old Town.

The king size bed, has two separated mattress. Which are briefly moved on the bed. Absolutely uncomfortable. The restaurant- not worth for the money. Was waiting 30 min for the drinks in an empty restaurant . Meal - not tasty and overpriced.

I am regularly in Riga for business reasons. The Pullman is well designed and I like its modern vibe. Also, the staff is very helpful and I much appreciated the room upgrade they treated me to for the last two stays. One slight criticism: not all reception staff seems equally well trained. One of them did not manage to put through a phone call (despite the caller trying three times), obviously because he did not know how to hold the line on the telephone system. Also, I had a discussion about late check out which was not very satisfying. I was very lucky that a bit later somebody else was there who could help me and was very pleasant and competent throughout. His name was Dmitrijs Gorodskis and thanks to his excellent service the glitch caused by his colleague really did not matter at all for me. Thank you again, Dmitrijs, for your effort!

While I really appreciated the very generous room upgrade, the handwritten note and the welcome amenity, I do have some constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement. I found that some of the staff need better training. The receptionists are fantastic, but the housekeeping should be better (the liquid soap dispenser in the men's bathroom in the lobby was empty the whole time I was at the hotel and the floor in the room was dusty) and I had a weird situation with the bartender when I wanted to redeem my welcome drink voucher where he basically tried to dissuade me from having a cocktail and didn't let me read the welcome drinks list myself but insisted on reading it out to me resulting in my ordering a glass of wine instead of a Pullman signature cocktail that is mentioned on the voucher. The breakfast is quite disappointing for a Pullman, there are many hot options missing (hash browns, for example) or a honeycomb which you can find in any Mercure/Novotel nowadays. Also, the water in the swimming pool was too cold and the entire room with the pool and the sauna too warm. All this may seem like simple nitpicking, but a Pullman hotel can and should be better. The staff especially need to be friendlier. Otherwise the hotel is great and I had a good stay.

Everything about my stay at the Pullman was top-notch. The hotel has been designed beautifully and the rooms have been finished in a modern, elegant yet cosy design. The spa and the gym were both well equipped. The breakfast spread was very good, with many high quality options. The service from all of the staff I interacted with was very smooth and efficient. Accor status recognition was very good.

Nothing wrong with the hotel as such. But putting guests sleeping (room 251) next to thrash bins outside (that were emptied with loud noice every morning at 6AM), in non-full-booked-hotel is lousy read. This was mentioned on the first morning, but nothing happened, after second morning receptionist said that we should have called them (at 6AM in the morning?). The request to change pillows went repeatedly wrong, ended up receiving the same pillow-types twice. Room was not completely clean (there was an empty water bottle) when we arrived. Iron was not collected when asked. All these little things were acknowledged to your staff, but no other than sorrys and some attitude problems was faced. Finally you provided over-priced taxi-ride to airport, from who receipt with proper taxation was not able to get (after 10 minutes i got a hand written receipt, which most likely will not be appreciated by our bookkeeper). We have some experience on 4/5- star hotels, but so unprofessional service have we not encountered before. Unfortunately we have shared this information with other potential Riga-travellers.

The taxi company we are working with do not have a cashier register in their cars and that is why they are not able to provide a regular check, but the receipts that they provide are completely legal and are being used to pay taxes as per our government law. « Poorly trained reception staff, clean rooms but poorly designed bathrooms. »

Online check in is advertised as: "SAVE TIME, Check-in online before ....." which we always do. Arrived at the hotel and spent 15-20 min with the receptionist who knew nothing. Had to give up in the end - this was at 18:15 or there about on a Thursday. Rooms are nice enough but have a tad of a military barrack feel over them (at least across the "bridge way" from the main building). Bathrooms have no storage space for towels. Even house keeping had to leave towels on the bed one morning. Breakfast buffet is plentiful and fresh, but having food on tables in front of plates stored a little too far away is a disaster as people reaching out for plates etc touches food with their hanging clothes. Causing way too much chaos... Warm selection is nice and the staff is quick to clear tables. Not much smiling going on though... Paying a premium (EUR 100) for airport - hotel - airport transfers was also an utter disaster. Pickup went smoothly but leaving Sunday at noon was a total Mickey Mouse experience. Asked for a confirmation on Saturday morning that the pickup would happen at 12:00 on Sunday for our 14:00 flight out of RIX. Nothing was registred other than we had been noted for 2 x minibus transfers!?!!?? After some back and forth it was found that we in deed had a return (x1) airport transfer. It was written down in the book that we were to leave the hotel at 12:00 the following day. Sunday at 11:55 we presented our selves at the reception and no one understood what we were talking about. After much ado everything was sorted and we went to sit down eagerly awaiting our beat up (yes the black MB we were picked up in was pretty beat with dents and DIY fixes). The receptionist came and told us the car was 10 min away because of traffic. Ok, sure np. At 12:10 nothing had happened. Went to the receptionist who told me because of traffic the car could not be here on time. I told them straight out that this was not my problem and they had known for weeks as I ordered the transfer and had mail confirmations. We were now 25 min over the promised time. All of a sudden a mini van arrived after the reception made a few calls. No apologies, nothing as much as a thank you for staying with Pullman Riga Old Town, nothing. I'm no longer Le Club Gold (as I changed to a different brand some time back) and I won't be coming back thanks to this poor experience.
