I stayed there as I wanted to be close to a business event and due to the price of the room. I can say the whole experience was better than expected! The room was not that big (I would like a bit bigger work desk and a chair instead of a stool), but well appointed, clean and the bed was great (very comfortable). All the personnel was polite and helpful and they managed to have my room ready 2 hours before the check-in time. The location is quite good and I walked both to the business center and the old town. Everything I wanted was within 30' max walking. Breakfast was also great. Not a huge variety (but they have the all-important eggs and bacon!), but good quality and fresh products. I have no complaints about breakfast, as in fact was better than what I expected. Was my 1st time in Bucharest, so I have not stayed at another hotel, but I like Mercure and for the price tag I believe is excellent value and I would gladly stay there again in my next visit.
