« Disgraceful... old fashioned, poorly maintained, filthy! »

Filthy, dilapidated, impossible to park, all the charm (and cleanliness) of a 1970s YMCA! Room was grim... absolutely filthy... the carpet is probably used to train new forensic students. Bathroom was disgraceful... damp and disgusting, poor upkeep and very old fashioned. Proving IBIS management are asleep at the wheel with this location! I Regularly stay at other IBIS across UK and Europe... but this is the worst I’ve ever seen... tired and uncared for... Room stank of stale food, paper thin walls so you can enjoy the snoring of fellow inmates. Nothing to commend this flee pit... off for a chemical wash now! One word of advice: AVOID!!!

« Dilapidated, tired and filthy! »

Attrocious... impossible to park, room was filthy and dilapidated... stank of stale food, the carpets were so disgusting I wept my feet when I left the room. Bathroom was in an attrocious state of disrepair, walls not only coverered in dirt and marks but also so paper-thin could endure the serenade of a fellow inmate's snoring. I stay at IBIS across the UK and Europe - this hoetl is not worthy of the name... had more in common with an early 80s YMCA than a hotel - disgraceful and I suggest that any traveller AVOID!

Straight forward checking in, girl behind desk was really helpful. Room was big and clean. Bed comfy. Breakfast is basic continental but was ok. Free coffee and tea in room but also a free coffee machine in reception available 24/7 was really nice.

On arrival my son who is 17 and had booked this hotel for one night was told he could not stay as he wasn't 18 He had gone through all this before he booked and paid in full for the room and was assured it was ok , he had traveled alone from Birmingham after work as he was meeting friends the next day to go to reading festival,he was asked to produce ID he explained he hadn't brought it as everything was OK when the booking and payment was made the very rude receptionist said he would have to catch a train back to Birmingham and fetch it My son was very distressed and rang my sister as I was at work,after quite a few words the manager said he could stay as it was dire circumstances but his friend who was due to join him could not and he had to stay at the festival site This whole experience upset the whole family,I Am just thankful the manager saw sense and let him stay but will not be recommending any of this chain to friends and family My email if you care to reply is Tr…

« Okay once I was in but not what I booked »

I was told on the phone when booking that there was only twin and queen rooms left so I had to book 2 twins and 1 queen as there were 5 if us staying. I thought fair enough, it must be busy as it's the festival weekend. When we check in this wasn't the case; 1 twin room, 1 queen room and 1 family room....5 of us could have fit into 2 rooms so why I have been made to book more rooms than I needed?! Have I been charged more than needed...probably! Have I been conned into spending more money than needed...probably! Not very professional and not very trustworthy...a Shame because the staff at the hotel were very helpful and kind considering the busy weekend.

Had a week long stay in Ibis Styles, Oxford road. Pretty convenient location. Bus / Taxi were convenient to travel to different parts of Town. Wifi was decent enough. Breakfast was ok...kind of same every day and the promised "Hot Items" were never available , even though i was ready to pay for this.
