« Nice Hotel, great location but unqualified staff »

Very nice and quiet hotel in a perfect location in London. Clean and comfortable rooms with enough space. The staff of the Hotel are friendly but inexperienced. The managers are making a really unfriendly impression, big improvement to make there. Breakfast is ok but should be a bit more varied. The franchized restaurant brasserie needs also more staff for dinner we have been waiting to long to get served. It was also very cold inside and we had to insist to close the front door to eat comfortably. Over all I would recommend the hotel but improvement needs to be made.

Given the rooms are tiny and quite anonymous, everything is outstanding. Excellent bed, bedding, air conditioning, cleanliness—everything. Bathroom is small but modern. No tea service in the room. Decor is totally anonymous. You wake up and have no idea what country you’re in.

Very small double room, couldn’t even move once the travel cot was in. Front desk service not up to standard. The hotel did not have in-house room service so instead advertised and advocated for an affiliated food delivery partner. The food took hours to come, was late and the service provider mad multiple mistakes with the order. The only lift in the hotel was broken during our stay requiring us to navigate 4 floors with a baby and pram. The front desk service was well below standard for what was a pricey and very cramped stay. I feel I won’t we be recommending the Mercure to friends and business acquaintances and was incredibly disappointed with our stay.

Was a good stay, in all. The restaurant is lovely, as is the food, offers outdoor seating. Though the flooring of the bathroom was initially dirty, had a word with reception, and no complaints at all for the duration of the stay. Good place to stay, location wise as well.

Beautifully appointed hotel in a great location, very obviously recently refurbished. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The only thing that was wrong for was the rather weak was the rather weak coffee at breakfast in the Brasserie restaurant - usually there is a self service coffee machine where I can get my required double espresso to start the day.

I loved that the hotel felt very boutique and special, tucked away in a classy little corner of London, but still right in the heart of Paddington Station and close to all the trains and subways. The room was lovely with a view of the Talbot Square park. It was clean and very modern, with great decor. I also loved the mattress and slept so well!

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. I had requested a room overlooking the square and this was arranged. We had a very professional and friendly welcome from the reception team who had noted that I had mentioned that it was my husband's 80th birthday and they had arranged a small cake and chocolates awaiting us in our room.They were consistently helpful and friendly throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived Bazon upgraded us and set the wonderful tone until we booked out 4 days later when Roberto looked after us with a smile. The room was large for London and perfect on the ground floor which we asked for. Included breakfast was convenient and tasty. Just made our stay and close to Paddington station for our rail trips. Walking distance to Hyde park, Oxford Str and major attractions.

This hotel was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The place was clean and well kept. The location was ideal in a central area but peaceful due to the small residential park outside of the hotel. Also, streets around the hotel were beautiful and Hyde Park was only a very short walk away, as was the Paddington train station and the tube. The only thing to keep in mind is the smallness of some/all (?) of the rooms. Works perfectly if you are a couple on a short break but I assume it would not be comfortable if you're travelling long haul with big suitcases. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay at this place again.
