« Disaster of a building, but very good staff »

Although you may see responses about a renovation under way as of March 2019 this was NOT the case, and until this place is fully renovated I would steer VERY clear. The points are not worth it. I was in a superior room and I can say it was genuinely one of the worst hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. The highlights being a rusty spike coming out of the bathroom floor, a highly stained shower (blood?), half-ripped up carpets, and the real high point was the air conditioning which never fully cooled or dehumidified the hotel room. Oh, and to the hotel, I would also recommend buying another generator (to fix the frequent power drops) and investing in the wifi as several nights I was not able to work in my room due it just not working at all. The physical structure of the hotel was bad, but I will say the staff were really great. We stayed there for two weeks and by the end we knew all the servers, bartenders, and front desk staff who work very hard to compensate for this hotel. They really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and I appreciate their warmth and humor.

« Never again Pullman in Douala »

Incredibly disappointed and not state of the art neither for a Pullman hotel nor for a member hotel of AccorHotels. Even all experiences with e.g. Ibis hotels were much much better. Taken over from the Le Meridien Group a few years ago but nothing has been invested and renovated. Le Meridien used to be the top hotel in Douala. Please find below some bad experiences/surprises: - The brand Le Meridien on the room keys has just been crossed out with a weak pencil. Nearly all room keys were broken. - When we arrived the 2nd time at 8.30 p.m. there was no shower curtain. And they have even not been amused to bring and hang it up. - The shower equipment was not really running properly and while taking a shower the bathroom was overflooded. Although we informed the reception, nothing has been done. Their answer was: strange, because we informed the technician... - In one of our rooms there was a leak of water in the ceiling. Should be seen at least by one of the staff member... - The main switch of the room also didn‘t work. - There was no sign „do not disturb“ (at 8 a.m. they already wanted to collect the towels!) and no laundry bag. The reception that couldn‘t be... - Windows were everywhere (lobby, rooms etc.) so dirty you don’t feel comfortable. And not to forget the dingy smell in the whole hotel. It was just discussing. - The bar closes at midnight but at 10.30 p.m. and while sitting outside we received the bill without any comments (not even here you are or thank you or it‘s our last call) and directly locked the door. - The staff was not very friendly and well educated. - Toilets on the ground floors were not clean, didn‘t have neither toilet paper nor hand towels. Half of the equipment was not running. - Half time the elevators have not been running and floor signs/notification were missing. - Last but not least, the airport shuttle left before we came out of the terminal although they knew we have been arriving because we announced our arrival with all details. I told the reception that I would be very interested in reflecting my experiences with the management. But as you already know, there was no reaction at all. There are not interested in feedbacks and are not ready to improve anything. To keep it short, everything was dingy and the hotel falls into ruin. The most worst experience worldwide with one of the hotels of AccorHotels! The 3rd reservation within 16 days we cancelled and moved to the amazing Akwa Palace, which we hardly recommend and very much appreciated!!!

I’m on business 2 times a month in Douala as a platinum member of accor group I’m really disappointed. I can only tell that Pullman hotel does not belong or even is close in what accor represent they still selling at 4 stars prices ever-since they don’t have a working AC . The central AC is from the old Meridien Hotel unit does not function at all this since more than a year now! No recognition of a platinum member neither a spontaneous upgrade or aplogies for the malfunction. Dry season in Douala means temperature around 35 Celsius you got literally cooked in your room. Unacceptable they should close this place and renovated it so it belongs in 2018 and not in 1970.

I am a platinum and I am used to Pullman hotels around the world. This one is probably one of the worse. For example points take for ever to be credited to your account. Upgrade is almost always unavailable. You have to always complain to have any kind of service!!

person of the front desk is very arrogant and ineffective. The AC in the room doesn't work, there was a leakage in the WC. after many complaints the only answer from the front desk was "you are here for 3 days you can manage". never ever! I don't even understand how this hotel can be classified as a 4*

The facilities in the hotel need complete upgrade. The air conditioner system is very poor starting from the reception. The room air conditioner is very very bad . I would have changed the hotel if not that the conference was located there. I really couldn't sleep well because the room was too warm . In fact I had to change my room but not better.

Not worth staying, no AC, no Internet, very expensive, don't get near this hotel until they do full renovation, toilet cooling all day, air is not functioning, not enough power plugs to satisfy business environment

« Pullman!??Really?? »

Transfer from the airport did not show up (it was confirmed during the afternoon and upon arrival I was said transfers only worked until 23h...I arrived at 3h45) when arrived to the hotel, holes in the ceiling dropping water in the floor and sofa of the lobby. Moisture stains in the room and a lot in the bathroom, bath tub, spider Web in the bed...the whole show! The only reason my review as 2 stars and not 1 is because of the staff and positive impression of restaurant (dinner). Breakfast is not unforgettable neither... don't think it will remain Pullman for long if it keeps up this scenario

i booked online on accor website. my reservation was not found when i came at the front desk. the shuttle service i requested was not at the airport the hotel did not present an excuse or explanation the internet is just zero. you cant do an skype call or upload your email this is a very low quality service for an hotel classified 4 stars

Very well located hotel in Douala and very service minded staff. The hotel hash't the latest design and furnitures. It is in great need of refurbishment but it works for the offered value. The wifi performance is not the best and I would say that it is sad that as a hotel guest you will be charged about EUR10/ day extra fro some high speed wifi. The restaurant is nice and the staff is very helpful.

The staff of Pullman Douala are really nice, but hotel needs a lot of improvement to suit the brand. It is limit OK. Being a frequent visitor to Douala and a frequent user of Accor Hotels, I was seriously hoping to hotel would improve when it became Pullman. Nothing so far.

Hotel and service are decent. Did not get the suite I reserved and the staff kept arguing that I do have the right suite. I had to go online and show them the room description. Two days later, I got changed to the proper suite. Internet connection was fairly slow for just browsing and emailing. Hotel urgently needs some upgrades and repair work. Breakfast selection is very average.
