Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian is an elegant Victorian hotel overlooking Union Terrace Gardens in the city centre. The locally-inspired design, with its Renaissance style of architecture in white Kemnay granite with stained glass windows, reflects Aberdeen's rich and varied heritage - from the harbour and beach to the many beautiful castles with their colourful histories. Good location for exploring the city centre

This is our third trip to Aberdeen in as many weeks and stayed here due to location. Unfortunately the menu had not changed at all so we were limited in choice of food. Also the wifi did not work during our stay. The hotel is now getting old and needs some updating, but the original features of the hotel make it stand out from the "box standard rooms" in most hotels.

Bed was clean but the room itself was grubby, the bathroom was ancient with an old chipped bath. It looks as though nothing has been done with decor or furnishings since about 1990. Wi-fi was down and I was there on business so had meetings and had work to do which was extremely inconvenient. Not impressed at all. Will not return.
