I had no problems at all. I would have prefrerred to arrive earlier so I could use more of the leisure centre but that was not possible and I left early the following morning so my stay was quite short.

On arrival at the reception I was greeted by a nice friendly receptionist who helped me to check in. When I got to the room I was pleasantly surprised by the size and standard of it. I would say the service fell down when myself and my work colleagues met for dinner in the Restaurant. Firstly, we when we asked if we could order drinks at the table we were advised to go to the bar which I didn't feel was very professional. Then when the food came the chips were so over cooked that there was no potato inside of them. To top it off then I ordered the cheesecake for dessert and was s o disappointed when it arrived...it was not a cheesecake it was a mousse which had a very strange taste to it. Breakfast the following morning was slightly better however I only had toast and cereal. My one issue with this is that the milk literally tasted like water and was not pleasant. So in summary, happy with the room, disappointed with the restaurant

I stay regularly and like the peace & quiet I get but the bar service n the evening could be better. It appears there are not enough staff which leads to difficulties. On consecutive nights this time I waited nearly an hour for my evening meal. On both occasions this was caused by the staff giving my dinner to another customer and then having to get my redone in the kitchen

I was at the hotel for the VCA seminar. The hotel was great and the room fine. The breakfast was excellent. I had a problem with the long walk to my room especially dragging luggage on carpeted floors. It would be good if the hotel ran a shuttle service to the town instead of having to order taxis every time we wanted to go out.

« Very diapointing and not a great experience »

Our stay was 28/30th March The experience from the booking process to the final reciept of the overpayment was problematic and very poor service. The booking process - asked to ring back to speak to appropriate person to do bookings 3 phonecalls. Booking agreed - confirmation recieved - booking was for 2019. Another phone call to sort it out. Was supposed to be prepaid - the confirmation said it was, however only first nights money was taken. Asked for conecting double and twin room - confirmation said two doubles - I phones was reassured it was double and twin, checked in and it was not. This was rectified and our rooms changed. Despite discussing with reception when my son arrived late, despite message and him having our correct room number he was told we were in a different room. Breakfast was of very poor quality, very tired had obviously been out for a long time. When we arrived in breakfast room our room numbers were not correct onthe list, for either morning. When booking a room for my sister for 29th ( the day of the wedding) I asked for early check in was told I could only ask for this the day before. When I arived I asked for this - I was told I should have asked before! still the helpful girl at reception said my sister would be allocated a room not being used that night so I could place her suitcase in it and collect her key card at 11.00 prior to the wedding. WHen I attempted to do so on the 29th told it was not possible as the room had not been made up? (even though it was not used the night before??) I waited while this was sorted out and was able to place the suitcase in the room. as this took 45 mins this delayed me getting myself and family ready for hte wedding and was very stressful. When I had checked out I realised I had left my mirror in the bathroom, I phoned was told nothing had been found I gave my room number and asked for someone to check. I did not have confidence from the conversation so I again phoned on several ocassions to no avail. When I checked my credit card bill I found that I had been over charged. I rang hotel directly twice. When I spoke to account department and explained they agreed to refund me the overpayment back to credit card. She also said she would enquire re mirror. 5 weeks after stay phoned to say mirror found it would be left at reception ot be collected. My sister went ot pick up mirror could not be found - another 90 mins wasted, phone call a few days later mirror retrieved. On reciving next credit card bill the overpayment had not been refunded. Phone call to hotel no response. Phoned Accor customer service - hotel continued to give them the run around, even sending copies of confirmation and bills. Finally as I was in the area I decided to phone and if no joy to turn up in person. Again the same saga of the hotel telling me that I had not been overcharged, finally agreement to refund me my ver payment. It was clear that arrangements and messages were not passed between staff members and the staff were disorganised. The entire saga could have been easily avoided and I could have recieved an appology. This would have been a very easy way of ensuring that I did not feel agrieved enough to detail my experience on trip advisor and through other social media. I am not a natural complainer but I have stayed in many hotels and accorr hotels and I have never received such a catalogue of problems and poor service. I feel I need to let people know at Dodmore House which recommended the hotel for guest at the wedding and I am sure they would not have expected to have such poor service. I may add that from the group of guest attending the wedding I was not the only one to be unhappy. I am writing this now to give one last chance for an appropriate appology to be made. I am hoping that there can only be one person with this catalogue of issues so it should be clear who I am.

« Disappointing »

Room was OK, but extremely cold as windows had been left open... no option to use heating in the room. Restaurant service was an experience, service all over the place, everyone complaining on each table. Food was awful.... Pate starter came with one piece of untoasted bread, ended up sitting there for 20-30 mins afterwards just nibbling on the pate whilst I waited for my main, which had been brought to my table before my starter and was very dry.... Overall I think I was sat in the restaurant for about 90 mins mainly just waiting and listening to other tables around me, but then I wasn't there for the hotel experience, I was there for a Conference. Would I go again? Yes probably but not by choice. Unfortunately I have no control over where our Conferences are held.

« Fine if all you want is a bed for the night, but go elsewhere for food! »

Checked-in late at night, food was still being served in the bar until 10.00pm which is unusual but was a welcome bit of news. I ordered a starter and main and to be honest, I ended up ordering a packet of crisps afterwards as the food was inedible. I did mention that fact and to be fair a complimentary drink was offered. My gripe? If you're going to serve food until 10.00pm, it should be of the same quality as that served at 6.30pm. Breakfast the next morning wasn't much better. The hot food was terrible but there was a decent Continental selection. Lunch was provided as part of the conference I attended and this was actually quite good. However, this is what is so frustrating because it just shows a lack of consistency, which is almost always down to poor staff training and poor management. Nice, clean, modern room with a good powerful shower. Check-In and Check-Out process was very efficient, although I called the hotel directly a few weeks beforehand as there was a VCA conference discount. No one could take my booking at the time and I was asked to leave my details and someone would contact me. This never happened, so I was forced to book online (booking.com) at a more expensive rate. I was there for a conference and the facilities there were quite good too, although the seats could be more comfortable!

« Excellent conference facilities, good room, but poor restaurant management »

The conference was excellent. Well run facilities and support from Aaron and Darren especially good. My room was clean, well presented and had everything I needed. The meal at the restaurant on the Monday evening was a huge let down. I have discussed this with the management team at Daventry so will not re[peat the experience again.

45 mins for starter to arrive and all we ordered were olives as they had run out of two other starters. Another 1 hour for main and a very poor small gammon steak. Only 7 tables occupied and all having long wait. Breakfast was good.
