« Comfortable enough, customer service not great breakfast disappointing »

Premium room , curtain hanging off the window no hooks to put up, woke up with sun streaming in the window , when reported to housekeeping was informed no maintenance on weekends ... She would try her best to fix .. On our return from the wedding it was up much better but still hanging down . Breakfast at 9 o'clock not much eggs dried up , bacon similar .. No interaction from staff at all

Easy registration with very helpful Reception and I loved the views of the Race Course from 296. Comfortable, clean room with good facilities. Charming and helpful staff in Restaurant where I had dinner- the Courtyard is delightful, with nice new furniture and the lovely birdsong. Plus its great having the Car Wash so handy.

Disappointed theme bar is only for sitting in. Really strange looking at a fully stocked bar only to be told we now have to go out of the bar around the corner to the other bar

Having paid for a spa package for a birthday celebration it was very disappointing that over that weekend the sauna was playing up and kept dropping in temperature (maintenance called) and the jacuzzi was luke warm. The following day the steam room was malfunctioning, jacuzzi blistering hot and the shower for use after sauna and steam room temporarily out of order. The quality of the ‘new’ sauna was not great and seemed unfinished and cheap - general maintenance was lacking throughout. We were also plagued by tiny flies for the duration of our stay although staff were apologetic and informed us that someone had been called to deal with this. Breakfast was a highlight, a good choice and served until 11 which is a plus! Overall disappointed with the ‘spa’ element of our spa weekend but fine for an overnight hotel stay. Full marks to the staff though who tried very hard to make our stay pleasant. Shame, this has the potential to be a fantastic place, unfortunately it is just ‘okay’.

Very good, Was racing at Brands Hatch so hotel is in the prefect place. There were a group of 12 for dinner (mix of hotel guests and people coming to dinner) this caused no problems staff organised tables so we could all sit together. So no complaints.

Enjoyable stay. Very helpful and friendly staff. However thought it poor that not able to put evening meal on room, told had no credit. It was not clear everything had to be paid in advance. My wife enjoyed using the swimming pool.

Was ok, the hotel was not up to its normal standard compared to last year. The menu change is now too basic along with very limited choice room service menu. The room cleanliness was below par, room was dusty, there was a snail on the curtains !! Not what I’d expect.

We stayed here for treat as it was my birthday and our 40th wedding anniversary. We didn't have any AC and had been given a fan that just about worked. Our massage treatment was terrible. It felt like just being touched with no pressure at all. My daughter paid £250 and we were not happy with the stay.

Due to a large function I struggled to park. Reception and the room were fine. Due to the function only plastic glasses were provided, service was slow and the residents bar was closed. A very poor experience. The staff tried really hard, but there were not enough of them and the bar ran out of drinks.

The room was clean and quiet and the bed brilliant. The bar staff not so good. We wasn't told the bar was closing so ordered a drink and never saw them again which we thought rude. Now for the exceptionally poor and expensive breakfast. Guests wondering around with toast in their hands due to no plates, we asked for 4 vegetarian sausages and soya milk. A tiny jug came so had to ask for more for cereals .Forty five minutes later we asked if the sausages would arrive soon to be told they will take 3-4 minutes -2 arrived. I gave up on mine. I also had to clear the table . For £12 each that's shocking.

« Achieved what I wanted. »

Very comfortable and spacious room, and friendly and helpful, but at times overwhelmed, staff. I was very conscious of large groups. On my first morning, I joined at least two large parties of tourists at breakfast, and the food buffet was stripped. The kitchens were unable to keep up and I went without eggs, for instance. On the last evening, there was a boxing event, and the bar was overtaken by the guests. The gents lavatory was in a shameful state. Rather than sit and enjoy a drink I went to my room.

All the requirements for a perfect stay are available but not with a consistency. A restaurant menu requires a wine list either as part of the menu or separately so that a guest has some form of ordering a drink when a waiter asks about anything to drink. Self service meals for coach parties has certainly improved the ability for waiters/waitresses to cope with other guests. Coaches park alongside the front of the hotel and must block any light reaching rooms adjacent on the ground floor. Of note this parking is outside the windows of the more costly superior rooms.

« There are a number of improvements the hotel could make to make a stay more acceptable. »

The room was clean and tidy with good facilities and a good view over the race track. The down side was that the air conditioning was not working properly and could not be adjusted. The room was situated over a goods entrance that attracted noise from the movement of vehicles and noise could be heard from what we assume was machinery running below. On the night we arrived there was no parking available due to a boxing tournament taking place and it was apparent the staff in the restaurant could not cope with the numbers. In fact they had no record of our booking and it took a long time to get served. I would add though that the food was very good when it arrived. Breakfast was also very much of a lottery with food not being replaced in the hot trays quickly enough with people standing around waiting. We also had to ask for coffee cups as they had also run out. Once again there appeared to be a lack of staff with the one lady working extremely hard to keep up. Checkout was good with no problems and very courteous staff.
