Not so good the room was stinking , we complained about it nothing was done when we came back in the evening , we complained again and finally at 11 o clock in the evening when we wanted to go to sleep two men were coming GJ try to solve the problem Not the right way to treat a gold member!!!

The hotel is impressive on the outside and well located. The staff was gracious & efficient and even gave us an upgraded room. The suite was large & had a beautiful view but unfortunately the furniture, upholstery, draperies and the carpeting are stained & dirty & well overdue for replacement. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was adequate. It was a disappointing overnight in Livorno.

We stayed for two nights but wished we had booked it for the whole week instead. We booked the junior suite and it was perfect, the only thing that let you down was the food in the restaurant. The menu was limited and for someone fussy there was even less choice. The menu was ocean so all with sea food or land which was all beef, nothing else no other varieties or choices. I chose the lasagna and it was not great, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. You need more choice. All staff were polite, room was immaculate, spa was lovely and relaxing and although it’s busy outside the view was great. We would definitely stay again

We were very satisfied with the location. We got upgrade for the room it was also very nice. Staff is very kind and helpful and smiling everytime. Concierge suggested a good restaurant for dinner and receptionist suggested a very beautiful sandy beach to us. Two things I think you should develop. First of all, breakfast. First morning at 10 o’clock we went down for breakfast, no glasses at juices, no plates by the food. Lot of tables uncleaned not possible to sit down. Variety of fresh vegetables might be wider. Quality of pastry and brad is very low. Second of all, the gym. Considering it’s a 5* hotel this gym is not reaching a satisfying level. It’s air conditioning is terrible, it is dark... However, I went to it two times so I use it anyway. The running machine is so loud that the spa receptionist closed the door what I understand but it makes the gym darker and with less air as it was before.

« lovely hotel could be so much better »

there was drain / sewage smell in room first day. the service at roof pool area and restaurant was extremely inattentive. why are all the rooms at front of hotel not in use, they would make a relaxing lounge / sitting / bar area? it makes the hotel seem cheap not to offer complimentary water each day of the stay. more could be done to accentuate the classic building.

Rooms really nice, roof top bar - outside a bit off putting due to birds diving at food, staff really good other than the below (which was just a difficult situation and staff were polite and work through reasonably). Initially room had terrible smell, maintenance tried to cover up (which we wouldn't have had an issue if the route cause of the smell had gone or opening the windows had cleared the air, but it hadn't), eventually we were moved to another room after a bit of pushing back - end result reasonable (offered and provided a free meal in restaurant), but took 3 hours and negotiation to that point - staff could have been more responsive and communicative (we were waiting in the bar and had to keep following up status) however as said a difficult situation and we got there. (probably just what you don't need after having travelled in a strange country for the first time by car for 3/4 of a day). Only other issue was there was not a porter when we arrived (which was during the check in period). Hence had to find someone and then work out what to do with the car etc.

The room was beautifully appointed but when we arrived there was a hoover left in the room. The bell boy said he'd run out of time! The room wasn't properly cleaned or replenished while we stayed. Our breakfast tray was left all day. On arrival when I asked for help with my luggage the receptionist questioned if I had a reservation, indicating that he didn't think I should be staying at the grand! The tray charge for breakfast in the room was excessive, if you don't want to provide room service breakfast then don't offer it. We had to remind staff that our breakfast card hadn't been collected and then chase up the breakfast as it wasn't delivered at the requested time - if you charge 25 Euro for the tray then at least bring the food when asked for! The restaurant food was excellent as was the service, your restaurant manager clearly understands how to greet people and manage his staff to a high level sadly the main hotel was poorly managed.

Beautiful location and lovely rooms, food in the restaurant was great but reception staff and general level of service was poor. Felt unwelcome and as if I was intruding when I asked for help with luggage. A real shame as with better management this place could be a gem

Accommodation was great and comfortable, our only comment would be the spa is so crowded by non hotel guests, and many children. The spa should be complimentary for in house guests but we have to pay euro 20 per person with this kind of environment, crowded pool, noisy area which was really unpleasant. We ended up doing spa and sauna and left the spa facilities area.
