« Comfortable stay »

Overall it was nice and comfortable stay but there are some suggestions like inclusion of a microwave in the room and also bit more natural light. Staffs were really helpful abd courteous. Thanks for the hospitality.

« Check-in and check-out were very smooth, room is very tidy and serviced everyday, worth the bucks »

We arrived to the hotel due to our early flight and let us check-in early which was really good cause we got the chance to unpack and rest a bit before we go roam around the city. Just few minutes walk to a tram station and to other restaurants. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The front-desk was 24/7 open which I think is really great. They also have a space where we can leave our luggage after we check-out which gave us more time to roam around the city for the last time. It was a really great experience staying at iBis Swanston hotel. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Easy check in all staff were fantastic at the front counter all very kind and considerate. Curtains had white blob stains on them which looked I’m sure you can figure out what. the tea caddy was full of dust and thick grime looked like hadn’t been cleaned. Other bits quite dusty.

when i arrived i was asked if wished for an upgrade and that i respect as a business man, however the note by the desk person as "the door handles don't work, just push the door" gave me a scare as this makes me and possibly others unsafe but when i arrived i found the system for the power of the room quite smart, but at the same time annoying; two facts stand out that the heater/cooler either didn't work or was very minimal with the added bonus that it could not reach bellow 20 degrees this was troubling as i had to leave the window open at night to keep the room cool and air flowing but it caused the noises of Carlton to flood into my room as i tried to sleep, the second fact is the fan in the bathroom was never actually on as i didn't hear it or it was not functional, this is something that you might want to check and with the beds i found them not to be made only slightly fixed, i found this dissatisfying as a service is being payed and corners are being cut as a minimum at least give the illusion that the sheets have been changed as bu fully remaking the bed bu tucking it back in as it was like at arrival. The rest was up to standard and on par to what i expected from a budget hotel but overall i believe i got what i paid for and from this i gained more knowledge .

The rooms are compact but well equipped and comfortable. All hotel personnel were friendly and professional. Unfortunately, my room was above the restaurant and periodically an intense aroma of fried food overtook the room. My room & belongings smelled like greasy chips. Breakfast was in the same restaurant which had the same smell. My clothes stank of it after eating there. They really need to solve their exhaust problem! Also food ran out at the breakfast buffet an hour ahead of closing.

Breakfast arrangements are not satisfactory. The quality of meals is awful. The "restaurant" offers non-fresh-looking roast ham with similar old-looking omelette. No yogurt or similar products are offered. The menu in the "cafe" provides a very limited choice.

The staff were very helpful. Their service is outstanding! The room was nice and modern. The walls were scuffed with markings - enough for us to take photos as we entered the room incase we were charged for the damage. The floor was swept but still seemed dirty. The bed had fluff on and between the sheets.

I spent a night at room 147. I couldn't sleep at all because the noise, I guess my room was close to the central air system or something similar. This will be the last time I would spend a night at any of your hotels. When I arrived the room, there was no shampoo or soap.

As walkers for our short trip to Melbourne, we found the Swanston Ibis to be very easy to get to from the airport, easy to get to free trams in the city, easy to get to a train station. The Hotel had all that we needed while staying here for three nights. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Very small room, no cupboard to hang up clothes, unable to adjust temperature control in room making it quite cold during the night, no extra blankets therefore had to spread out towels and my own jacket on the bed to keep comfortably warm, no telephone in the room to contact reception, quite loud hotel (I could hear people discussing or talking over the phone in the middle of the night). Overall bad value-for-money

Absolutely thrilled at the location of the hotel, the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Room was clean and neat with fresh towels and linen. Price was reasonable and the shower was amazing. Overall the best hotel experience I have ever had given the fact that I got 2 very good nights sleep and I have never had this at any pace I have ever stayed in the past. Best hotel I have ever visited!

Was all good apart from the cigarette smoke I could smell at approximately 5am every morning. We were on level 1 with the window open. It was possible kitchen staff in the courtyard smoking.

Was a good experience, enjoyed the bed and doona cover etc , the shower could of been washed properly as there were dust above the shower cover or whatever you call it, could of supplied more toilet paper and at least a proper rubbish collect, some of our rubbish were taken and some were left behind
